Elisa’s POV
As we all started to walk out of the bedroom door, Elliot grabbed my arm and held me back. After everyone else was gone, he quietly shut the door and immediately held me close while burying his face in my neck. I had to remind him, “You do remember we have a reception to go to, right? I really don’t want Bonnie and Crystal getting too far from us, in case her mate escapes or one of his family members comes after her.” He agreed, reluctantly, so we walked to the reception hall.

After the reception, we all went home, and Elliot and I went straight to bed. I was so exhausted from the emotional roller coaster I had been on since I took Bonnie and Crystal home. I woke up this morning and stretched aggressively. I slept better last night than I have in a long time. That was really nice. Wait. It’s nearly ten am! Why didn’t anyone wake me? That’s right. Shifting into a bear wasn’t nearly as bad as shifting to a wolf for the first time. Maybe it was because I had already become accustomed to the feeling of my bones breaking and rearranging themselves. When the shift first started, I felt someone pick me up. I knew it was Elliot by the comforting sparks that radiated through my body. I felt the grass under me and I looked at my hands and saw paws. I woke this morning to the sound of a young girl singing. I immediately sat straight up and looked around. I hurried through my morning routine and walked downstairs.
