Chapter 3

Charles could perceive that something was burning when he got closer to the building, he took a glance at the left side of the compound and noticed something was burnt there.

He fixed his gaze there for a while and walked closer.

"What?" He screamed in anger when he recognized some parts of the burnt material.

"How could she burn my clothes? She is definitely crazy!" He yelled in fury dashing into the house to confront Melanie.

Melanie was turning everything in the house upside down, breaking anything she could lay her hands on.

"Melanie what the hell is wrong with you? What do you think you are doing?" He screamed.

The house was in a totally mess, their were broken items, glass, bottles, torn out books lying at every part of the floor.

"Melanie have you lost your mind?" He screamed.

Melanie turned to him in rage glaring at him.

"Have you gone deaf? Didn't you hear what I just asked?" He thundered trying to grab her hand.

Melanie pushed him way.

Charles hit his back on the wall and he felt a sharp pain on his waste.

"Ouch!" He cried out with his face squeezed.

Melanie ran off to the kitchen.

Charles gathered back his strength in a jiffy and ran after her, he wanted to stop her from causing more damage.

Melanie grabbed the blender and forced it out of the socket throwing it at Charles.

Luckily, Charles missed it, the blender hit the wall and broke to pieces.

Charles gasped and grew even more angry.

"Do you know how much that blender worth?" He screamed.

"And do I look like I care you cheating bastard!" She cursed in anger.

He tried to walk closer to her.

"Don't you dare come anywhere closer to me!" She screamed.

"Enough of this madness already Melanie! Haven't you had enough drama for the day?" He yelled.

"I hate you Charles, how could you do this to me? She was my bestfriend!" She screamed picking up a knife from the kitchen table.

He ran to her and grabbed her hands.

"Let me go you cheat! Let me go!" She cursed pushing him off her.

"You need to calm down Melanie, it was a mistake" he said.

The look in her eyes scared him to the bone marrow.

"How long have you been doing this with her? How long have you been lying to me?" She screamed throwing the knife at him.

Charles missed it as the knife got stuck to the wall.

He gasped loudly with his eyes wide open

Melanie turned around and started grabbing anything she could lay her hands on him and threw them at him, spoons, forks.

Charles ran to grab her again but this time, Melanie landed a heavy blow on his mouth.

Charles hot his head on the wall and let out a loud shout.

His eyes widened as he noticed blood dripping from his mouth.

Charles spat it out.

Melanie went cold on seeing the blood, she twisted her leg on the other moving backwards.

"I am sorry, I was just angry" Melanie said sadly.

"You mad woman! I told you to stop, didn't I? I am sick and tired of you, I just don't understand what I am still doing with you! You are nothing but an evil liability to me!" He yelled.

He was filled with rage and was out of control.

Charles pushed Melanie to the floor and started hitting her.

She let out a loud cry fighting so hard to get Charles off her body but he wasn't moving an inch.

"Hit her harder, kill that bitch, I just wish she died earlier" Carmella thought glaring at them through the open window.

She was in her wolf form, a black wolf with red eyes.

Carmella ran off into the woods when she noticed that Charles was about coming out from the house.

She ran for a long while and stopped at a Lea, it was their small village, the wolf village.

Joshua was badly wounded, he was laying on a mat outside while an older woman nursed his wounds.

He was the wolf who had attacked Melanie's son earlier in the day.

Carmella went to the back of her house, she changed into human and put on her clothes.

She grinned proudly adjusting her clothes with her shoulders raised high.

Carmella walked back to where Joshua and the older woman who was Joshua's mother sat, she was called Emma.

"I can't believe that Diana did this to you" Carmella said looking furious.

"Neither do I" Emma added.

"Funny enough, she doesn't even recognize me, you need to have seen the way she hit me for biting the son of that useless man she is living with, I can't believe she left me to be with a human, I am her husband for crying out loud" Joshua cried out.

Carmella looked away placing her hand under her jaw.

She cleared her throat "Diana might be my sister but I must say that she is evil, just few months after you got married to her, she varnished into thin air only for you to find her and then she acts like she doesn't know who you are, she is a disgrace to this clan."

Joshua winced in pain "take it easy mother..."

"I am still her husband and I have had enough of her pretense, she would return back to this clan and answer for what she has done, she is still my wife."

"Unfortunately she doesn't see you as one, I wonder why she did this to you, she seems to have forgotten that we are her real family and some day when the humans discover who she is, they would turn her into a lab rat" Emma said.

"I would not let that happen, Diana must return to me even if I have to destroy everything she has back there" Joshua said looking furious.

Carmella smirked secretly.

Joshua started coughing.

"Go, get him some water..." Emma instructed.

Carmella stood up and left to get a cup of water.

She was deep in thoughts while walking.

"I still do not understand how Diana survived that fall, well good enough Joshua doesn't know that he attacked his own son, I hope he is dead now, but I still wish she lost her pregnancy when I pushed her off that cliff, surprisingly she even changed her name to Melanie" Carmella laughed.

She sighed loudly "I still want her dead she needs to due."

"Get the water Carmella" she heard Emma scream.

"This woman is horrible, I am no one's servant" she muttered referring to Emma as she quickly got some water and ran back to her.

Carmella went back to her house.

Her mother was making dinner in the kitchen, she was called Zara.

"I heard that your sister was found by Joshua" She said.

Carmella scoffed sitting in the small living room "yes, she was."

Zara sighed "when would she be brought home?"

Carmella's eyes grew wide "mother, your daughter Diana attacked Joshua today, he is badly wounded and here you are asking when she would be brought home."

She glared at her mother through her brown eyes and hissed.

Zara gasped "Oh my God! Why would she do that? She loved Joshua with her life."

"Change is constant mother, it is obvious that she intentionally disappeared, she left her husband barely three months after getting married to him, she never loved him like she always said" Carmella said with her face covered in disgust.

Zara shook her head in disagreement.

"Your sister doesn't lie about her feelings, she truly loved Joshua, something doesn't seem right about all of this" Zara said.

Carmella stood up feeling uneasy "mother are you dime cooking? I am starving."

Zara grew angry glaring at Carmella "you don't seem bothered about your sister, all you care about is filling your stomach with food."

"Why would I care about someone who didn't care about her family, her husband or people? You should have allowed me marry Joshua but you insisted that Diana married him instead because you believe they are both in love, I am so glad that she ended up disappointing you all, I would never do what she did."

Carmella walked away in anger throwing her black long hair behind her.

Zara sat quietly on a wooden chair looking depressed.

Parts of her hair were covered in grey hairs, she had grown eye bags which were almost sagging but she still looked beautiful with her hazel eyes.

Carmella moved few meters away from the house mumbling to herself.

"It's always about Diana, what about me? I thought I did away with that bitch already" she mumbled sadly.

Then she paused fixing her glare at nothing in particular.

"This really is strange, is she actually pretending not to remember Joshua or does she....?" Carmella shook her head refusing to believe that Diana would ever turn her back on Joshua.

"I know how much she loves him, she loved he so much, if she attacked him, that means... she doesn't recognize him" she smiled from chin to chin.

Carmella shurgged the thoughts off "I still need to find out exactly what is going on and their is just one way I can do that" she snapped her fingers and walked away.

Melanie sat at a corner of the house.

Charles had left her after hitting her, she couldn't tell where he went to but she could swear that he had gone back to Rose.

She cried her heart out sobbing into her rumbled clothes.

Melanie struggled to stand, her body ached badly, the car keys were no where to be found.

She rubbed her hands on her eyes, her vision looked a little blur as she could barely see anything clearly.

Melanie got tired of looking for the car keys.

She ran her hands through her face, it was hurting her badly but she had no choice.

She left the house shutting the door behind.

Melanie took a cab down to the hospital.

"Where is my son?" She asked on seeing the doctor that met her earlier.

The doctor looked shocked to see her looking so horrible.

"What happened to you?" The doctor asked.

"I got hit" she answered.

The doctor looked curious and was about to ask her another question when Melanie cutted in quickly.

"Where is my son?" She asked in a cracked voice.

The doctor bowed her head.

Melanie stared at her "what is it?"

The doctor took a deep sigh "I am sorry ma'am but we lost him."

Melanie's eyes grew wide.

"I am really sorry ma'am" the doctor said again.

Melanie fainted at the spot.
