EvieI cried myself to sleep for the umpteenth night in a row. I've been here longer than Hetty and Eli. I barely remember a time before being here. Sometimes I dream of my mother. HettyPain. So much pain! Why are we in pain? Searing and all consuming.Where are we?'Honour?'Nothing. Just like before. Crap!What's that sound? Sounds like a voice, it's low, like Kraufts, but I don't recognize it. I can't quite make out the words he's saying. I blink a few times as my surroundings rush in.I'm surrounded by trees. All I hear is blood moving behind my ears aside from the low muffled voice. I blink again and I see a face. I look around again.There's trees. A road. On the side of the road there's a car. A jeep. It reminds me of my brother's, open back and all. I push those tear forming thoughts away as I try to move.That's when I notice it. I'm not on my body, this is Honour's form. What in the world?!I look around again and find the man's face. He's older, probably about the same age as Krauft. His hands are held up, palms facing me as a sign of passivity. LeoI don't know what I was thinking. I wasn't even supposed to be on that road. I had missed my turn and decided to stay stay on the scenic route. It's only 5 minutes longer than my normal way home.I saw her come through the trees and seemed to collapse in pain and every fiber of my being pushed me to go check what was up. As I approached I didn't see any physical injuries, maybe she just exhausted herself? It's stupid, absolutely idiotic to touch a wild wolf, especially an injured one, but I couldn't help it. Before I even registered what was happening I was kneeling and reaching for her muzzle. Just as my fingertips were about to touch I heard a whimper and I froze."Are you trying to get your hand bitten off?" I scolded myself. "Cause this is how you get your hand bitten off. I like my hands, my hands do great things. I'd like to keep them, thank you very much."Next thing I knew her eyes were blinking open and my senses rushed to me pulling my hands back to convey my benignity.

JessI start with vitals; lung sounds, heart beat, eye check. Nothing out of the ordinary for a wolf. She seems underweight. "Could you go grab the portable scale for me?""Of course" Leo stalks off to the shed.Next up are teeth and claws. Teeth look normal, perfect even. Claws are a bit long, odd. Ears are fine. Next I run my hands along her legs to check for joint swelling, injury, or parasites; ticks, fleas, etc. Nothing. So far she's seems the picture of health, although a bit on the larger side.Leo comes back with the scale and helps me shimmy her onto it. 103.94 lbs. Not bad for an ordinary female, but she's large, she should be closer to 120-130lbs."She's definitely underweight, but otherwise healthy. She probably collapsed from hunger and exhaustion." Leo writes my assessment on my clipboard. You'd think he's a vet tech and not a carpenter. Hetty I'm sitting in the passenger seat if a lime green open back jeep holding a chocolate vanilla swirl ice cream cone, laughing as Eric sings in falsetto along with TSwift. He looks back at me grinning as he pulls the jeep into gear and pulls out of the parking lot."So how was school, kiddles?" he grins at me. My smile falls."Alright, I guess" he wrinkles his brow."Just alright? What's going on?""Just normal school stuff, ya know how it goes." He hums."Do I need to kick some adolescent butts? Let me know now before I'm a legal adult and can get in serious trouble for assaulting 13 year olds" always so protective."It's not that. It's the occupation preparation classes at school. Everyone's already got these big careers planned with their dream jobs. I find it hard to think about a career when all I want is to find my mate and have a few pups. Is that so pathetic?" HettyI wake up to the sun in my face. I enjoy the peace. Not being poked, prodded, or tested. I can't remember the last time I was actually alone like this.
