CHAPTER 2

The whole floor was silent and it seems like          no one is around except me. When I finished the things that Mr. Kevs told me to print and study I decided to send this to Mr. Arthur David on his office. I am a bit nervous since I am still new here and yet I already did something that might build an impression.

I sigh and just continued. If I will hesitate now then how much more in the next things that might happen.

I made up my mind and find the office of Mr. Arthur that Mr. Kevs told me.

When I am already in the tenth floor and found the said office, I tried to peek inside if he is inside. It’s not that I am really scared, it’s just my behavior earlier was a bit off as a newbie.

I continued peeking from the glass mirror and tried to cover my peripheral vision using my both palm in the sides.

‘’I just hope that he is a nice man.’’ I whispered while tapping my foot in the floor. Maybe I already need to go inside.

‘’What are you looking inside, huh?’’

Just like a rat caught taking something from the kitchen, I jumped aggressively as I covered my mouth when I almost scream out of amusement. My eyes widened when I realized who is standing in front of me. I swallowed hard and blinked many times to process what is happening.

I smiled awkwardly and scratch the back of my neck as I stared at the man.

‘’Good evening, Mr Arthur. Ah- uhm just want to give some files to you and-‘’

‘’As far as I remember, my office’s door was there, why are you peeking here like a spy, huh?’’ He narrowed me like I did something so terrible today.

‘’Ah eh, I was just checking if you are inside, Sir.’’ I pouted and tried looking away out of embarrassment.

The man rolled his eyes and shook his head and commanded me to follow him inside his office.

‘’You are the new assistant sourcing manager, aren’t you?’’ He suddenly asked when finally took his seat on his swivel chair.

I nodded while still holding some folders.

‘’What’s your name again?’’ He asked again.

‘’Caroline, Sir.’’ I simply answered that made him lift his gazes to me.

I saw how he smirked like he was pleased about what he is seeing.

‘’Awh oh, I forgot, what about the files again?’’

I immediately handed him the folders and he just nodded.

‘’Hmm, I’ll check it later.’’ He uttered and goes back to his computer.

‘’Thank you Sir.’’ I uttered and was about to leave.

‘’Where are you going?’’ He asked like I am doing weird things here.

I really want to just disappear right now and cover my face and jump out of so much embarrassment. I don’t know. I just feel like I am doing everything here so wrong. I bite my lip and faced him again waiting for him to talk.

‘’Can I leave now, Sir?’’ I asked and it seems like he just realized something and nodded to me.

In the next day I am always following Mr. Kevs for all of his mandates every time there are meetings and he always ask me to all the print outs and it was a bit tiring.

‘’Where’s Kevs? I need him right now.’’ My hands are shaking when Mr. Arthur handed me some folder while keep looking for Mr. Kevs. He told me earlier that he needs to run some important errands that is not related to the AZER and asked me to just work for the stuffs he gave me and I was not expecting for Mr. Arthur sudden appearance here. The meetings are done and I wasn’t informed that I am facing the man again.

‘’He is not around, Sir.’’ I answered, hoping that he doesn’t have something to ask that only Mr. Kevs can attend.

‘’Dang, where is he? I have an urgent meeting and I needed him!’’ He muttered like he’s so annoyed.

‘’I need him to report now.’’ He uttered again with frustration.

I bite my lip and doesn’t have a choice and offer myself for the report since I tried to study the files and it’s pretty hard to analyze but I think there are more ways to explain it.

‘’I can report, Sir. If you want me to.’’ I uttered that made his brows furrowed.

‘’You are a newbie, I don’t think you can do it right.’’ He answered like it was a very impossible thing and then turned my back from me.

‘’Try me, then.’’ I smirked because even if I solved those problems in front of him, I won’t mess up. I am a mathematics major after all.

‘’So cocky, huh?’’ He said like he is getting annoyed even more.

‘’Look, you offered products to a new branch but you can’t even match vendors.’’ I smirked again that made him narrow me.

‘’Well, we can wait for Mr. Kevs then if that is what you want.’’ I shrugged and didn’t force him to trust me.

The other employees are already worried since Mr. Kevs isn’t here yet and the meeting was about to start now.

Some of them already texted him but he is not responding. They said that this is one of Mr. Kevs’ hobby, to disappear for some important matters and usually he just appear in the next day and pretend like nothing happened.

‘’Miss Caroline Dawn, I want you to report the files to the meeting if Mr. Kevs won’t appear tonight. I’ll fucking fire that ass once he show up here again.’’

I nodded when I saw frustration from Mr. Arthur’s eyes.

‘’And take note, this is not a favor Miss Dawn, I am asking you as the new sourcing manager of the company.’’ He muttered. His brows are still in a furrow and very frustrated while entering the meeting room.

Everyone’s eyes seems so shocked when they heard what Mr. Arthur just said.

‘’Miss Dawn, don’t make me fire you as well. Follow me now.’’ The man said when he noticed that I didn’t follow him.

‘’Ah eh, yes Sir!’’ I attentively answered and followed him.

I think this is not fun anymore. I sigh.

He is just handsome but isn’t nice.
