Chapter 7

Chapter 7.

"It all started when....uhm please don't interrupt and just listen to everything I'm going say." He said and I nodded.

"Okay so this happened when I was 11, my friends and I were curious about the Human World we've only read about in books. We wanted to eat their food and breathe the air they breathe. We finally got a chance when we found out a messenger was leaving for a mission in the Human World so we sneaked after him through the portal. We arrived at the human world, ate a lot of things, played games until we were so carried away and didn't realize that time had gone. We all jumped through time in a rush and in the process, my marble which I'd always carried around fell from my body. I didn't realize I'd lost it until we got back to our world." He looked at me briefly to make sure I was listening.

"Now for the second part of the story. Who am I? I'm a Deity. We Deities look over humans. That's our job. There are two types of Deities. There's the Lesser Deities and The Higher Deities. The Lesser Deities are the commoners with ordinary powers. The Higher Deities are the ones granted with special powers. They are mostly from the noble families. Every time a Higher Deity is born, he or she is born with a tiny marble in his her fists. The marble will be plain white at first but as they grow, a particular color begins to glow in it. That color is the color of their Energy Core and also the color of their eyes. The energy core is in the heart and that's where our powers come from."

"I was born with a marble. Everyone in my family was born with a marble. We're a family of Higher Deities. The function of the energy marble or orb is to grant you your special powers as a Higher Deity when you're of age. And that's at the age of 18. But since I lost the marble, its impossible for me."

"Now, this marble I'm talking about is inside you. I don't know how you found it but its inside you right now. And that's why your hair turned blue and also why your body produce uncontrollable lightening. The reason is because, I've turned 18 and the it's time for the Marble to activate but it can't find my core so it's trying to force itself out and by doing so, strange things happen to your body. That's how simple I can explain the situation of things." He ended his explanation and sighed.

I blinked once, twice, thrice, trying to wrap my head around the whole information I'd just received.

"I have a lot of questions."

"I know." He chuckled.

"Firstly, how and why did this marble enter my body?"

"As much as I'd also like to know, I really don't know how or why." He answered.

"And how do we get it out?"

"We can't."

"What?"

"We can't. The marble will come out itself. It's already working its way out so we just have to wait." He explained.

"Well...okay. You said if you don't retrieve the marble, I'd die. What did you mean?"

"You see, we have Deities that have been exiled and gotten their energy core broken because of their wrong doings. These people are now powerless so they found a way to gain power and that's by stealing the Energy Marble of the Higher Deities. They go after the Higher Deities whose Marbles are yet to activate. In no matter of time, they'd find you and do anything to retrieve that marble from your body forcefully." Raven explained.

"But I don't want to die. I don't want any of this. I don't want to get involved with Deities or whatever, I just want my normal life back." I lamented.

"And that's why I'm here. I'll stay with you and protect you till the marble comes out. Nothing will happen to you and your life will be back to normal in no time." He said and this time, his tone softened, so did his gaze.

"As much as all of these don't sound real, as much as I don't want to believe it, I guess I just have to because I have no choice." I sighed.

"What about Zelan? Is he also uhm...a Deity like you?" I probed curiously.

"Yes. But a lesser one. Zelan has been my guard and best friend since I was little."

I nodded as my mouth shaped into an "O"

"So there are other Deities around?" I asked and he nodded.

"Wow." Was all I said.

I slapped my hands on my thighs and stood up, making my way to the door.

"You said you'd protect me. You had better. And I still have a lot of questions to ask but that will be some other time. I'm starving and I need to feed the monster in my tummy. See ya." I literally fled out of the class into the busy hallway with so many things running through my mind.

Is this some sort of supernatural movie? Where's the hidden camera?

Deities? Is this a dream?

.

How did my life even turn into this.

I suddenly felt a huge dark cloud looming over my head. Trouble was definitely coming.

I shook the negative thoughts out of my head. There won't be anything. Trouble won't come.

Or Will it?

a/n: ugh! I suck at ending chapters.

I don't know where this is heading to, honestly. I had planned this chapter out in my head a long time ago but when I started typing, what I was putting down was completely different from what I'd planned. It felt like my hand has a heart of its own lol.

I know I said we'd get more of Zelan in this chapter but like I said, things didn't go as planned:(

Anyways, we'll see in the next chapter.

Don't forget to follow me and also like this chapter. Oh! and also add this book to your library so you can get informed when I update a chapter. Thank You!:)
