Chapter 3

My eyes widened, everyone and everything around me was frozen. Cars weren't moving, the birds weren't flying, people weren't moving and everywhere was eerily quiet.

"What the heck is happening?????" I thought

Gently, he let go of me and I couldn't resist starring at those icy blue eyes. His friend stood beside him not saying anything. I turned again to see everyone standing like gold statues, why is that? We were the only ones not frozen or are we dead? No! Okay someone tell me this ain't really happening; probably some shit from my hallucinations.

I was still getting mesmerised by what was going on, I didn't notice I was starring at him for so long.

"Careful next time." He said and walked away. Immediately he stepped his feet into the cafe, the whole street unfroze itself; everywhere lively as before. No one was frozen like statues and everyone were back to doing their businesses.

'Okay okay Jasmine. Keep calm!' I knew I was supposed to scream or get really freaked out but I wasn't, I just stood like my feet were glued to the ground.

I watched the cute boys through the transparent glass walk to the counter, to obviously order some drinks.

"Jasmine!!" Someone yelled into my face.

I flinched and slipped, falling on my own precious butt. I groaned turning to see the numb expression on Ria's face.

"What the 'f' Ria? I could've died of heart attack yunno?"

Instead she rolled her eyes and moved her hands which were occupied with two plastic cups.

"Fortunately you didn't, now get your ass up. Besides I did you a favour, you could have seen how dumb you looked with that silly expression on your face; standing like you just saw gods. She said sipping from one of the cups.

"I think I actually did see gods." I muttered

"Huh?" Ria asked, confused.

"Nevermind. The yelling was never necessary though." I scoffed.

"Whatever. Here, I got your Boba." She almost shoved the cup right into my face.

I rolled my eyes and collected the cup reluctantly not forgetting about the magic thingy that happened earlier. "Ria did you see what just happened before you came out?" I asked her.

"What happened?" She seemed uninterested as she was more concentrated on her Boba and what was going on inside the cafe.

"The whole place suddenly got fro---"

"Hey look Cindy is flirting with a customer again." Ria chuckled interrupting. I sighed, angry that she had to interrupt me as I watched her walk into the cafe again like her feet were on fire. I adjusted my hood and walked in too.

We sat directly beside the transparent glass, so we could observe what was going on outside too. I wasn't paying attention to whatever Ria was blurting about. My eyes and mind were totally transfixed on those cute boys.

From the way their mouths moved to how they laughed and how they sipped their drinks. Oh my gosh they looked so heavenly!

Some minutes not long after, they stood up and walked back to the counter to check out. I watched them move out of the building, still not giving Ria any attention.

"Earth to Jasmine!" Ria flicked her fingers.

I jerked and sighed.

"What's supposedly occupied in that tiny brain of yours?" Ria asked, also glancing outside the building since that was where I was starring at.

"I----uhm----hey I'll be right back." I told her briefly before dashing over to the counter.

"What the hell Jas?"

I ignored her and went to the counter.

"Hey Kenna." I grinned. "So how's business going?"

"What do you want Jasmine?" She asked in a bored tone.

She knew me, I was never this formal to her only when I needed her help.

"Right. Uhm-- the boys that left earlier. Those cute boys?"

"You mean blue eyes and Alligator boy?".

" what the---- what's that Kenna?" I stifled a giggle. What on earth is she talking about?

"One has these blue eyes if I'm right and well the other kinda have these alligator eyes, I guess." She blurted, with a straight face.

"Yeah whatever. You're crazy."

She huffed and went on with her business.

"Okay, okay I just wanted to know their names. I mean the name they used to check out, as in pay."

"I understand that, I'm not dumb!" She scrolled through the tablet.

"They paid with just one credit card and it's a Raven McClure account name."

"Raven McClure. Okay thanks." Was all I muttered before walking back to Ria.

~*****************************

My parents were home before I arrived. I had to use my hood to cover my blue strands of hair, I don't want to risk been called a bad child by dyeing my hair. Of course mom's nagging is endless.

Oh wait, I dyed it back to it's normal color.

I walked straight to my room, not bothering to give any much pleasantries. I've seen enough for today, my brain needed a reboot.

Laying on the bed and thinking about him. Yes him! The cute one from the cafe. My magic boy.

'Raven' I don't even know who's Raven among them. Urghhh!

I stuffed my face into my pillow and screamed. I'm probably crazy!

My parents both left for the airport this Morning and I had gotten to school a bit late, not finding Ria by this time was strange. I finished arranging my books into my locker and closed it.

"Jas!"

"Christ!!!" I jerked and huffed realising it was my crazy best friend Ria.

"You need a therapist, seriously" I told her walking ahead. The way she enjoys freaking me out these days, freaks me out too.

"Wow what an appropriate sentence to replace with a 'good morning' " She was at it again, being sarcastic. Seriously, how did this girl win the position of being my best friend?

We kept walking our way to class.

"And who freaks her best friend out instead of saying a nice 'how was your night?'" I rolled my eyes. At this rate, my eyeballs were going to fall out because I keep rolling them.

"Yeah whatever. Have you heard?" Ria asked

"Well we're having newbies" she squealed.

"Uhm okay, cool?"

"Can you ever stop being a fun sponge?" She face palmed.

"What's fun about having newbies?" I shrugged

"I don't know. Cos they're always cute?"

"Wow cool again." When you hang out with Ria, you also learn to be sarcastic.

"Hold on!" her eyes widened. "Your hair! The blue strands are back!!! and this time they're much than that of yesterday!!!" She awed at my hair

"what are you talking about?" I asked reaching out for my hair to see. Ria searched her bag and brought out a small hand mirror, pointing it to face.

Jeez, my hair was back to blue!!

"Girllll, you've got some serious shit going on with you." Ria declared and my shoulders slumped.
