Better Days

My sleeping patterns were erratic on the third day, but I never dreamed.

On the fourth day, I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time.

I could only sigh, knowing I had let him down.

Adam walked in, his eyes almost red, and took a deep breath. It was the first time I'd seen him act like this.

He blamed me first for not taking care of my health, and then Kevin for not telling him right away.

He then went on and on about Alvin for about half an hour.

Kevin and I do nothing but listen to his cussing and cursing.

Kevin couldn't laugh or cry. He poured himself a glass of juice and told us he'd leave us alone to talk before returning to his study room to read some documents.

Adam began running his mouth as Kevin's foot stepped out the door, "Did you know that the Li family has been in shambles lately?"
