Left at the altar by her fiancé, film industry beauty Christine Ledesma, also known as Cassandra Mendez rebuilt her shattered life. Just when she thought she had finally gotten over him and turned over a whole new leaf, Marty Jacobs the infamous playboy billionaire showed up again to reclaim her. "Mommy, you're back." The little girl sweetly said. Marty came in and walked towards the living room. He put down Christine on the couch. The little girl was delighted to see Christine carried by Marty. The little girl held Marty's hand, looked up to him and spoke, "Mommy, is he my daddy?" The little girl's eyes were twinkling like the stars in the sky. Memories of five years ago came flooding her mind. Christine couldn't utter a word, for she was overwhelmed by the memories of five years ago. The little girl concluded that her mom's silence meant yes, the little girl spoke to Marty "Daddy, did you come back to take us with you?" Baffled, Marty couldn't speak and looked at Christine. Christine had regained her composure and said, "Cassie, sweetie, he is mommy's business partner."
View MoreThe alarm clock reverberated through the room. Christine was roused by the persistent alarm bell. She stretched out her arms to pick up the alarm clock on top of the nightstand to stop the alarm and then put it back on the nightstand.
“Oh, it’s already 5:30 in the morning.” Christine said while she yawned and stretched her body. She sat on the side of the bed for a moment and walked sluggishly toward the bathroom.
It’s her first day of filming for the new movie today. As always, she won’t be playing the lead role. She has been in the industry for quite some time now. However, she never took a leading role and the reason was that her morality did not allow her to have these great breaks. Although her acting skill is on par with those great actresses.
The big project comes with a big price, the director or the producer has to bed her first before having that big project. She could not bear to climb to the summit, having her body as compensation for her to play the lead role.
Today is no different from the days when Christine had a butterfly in her stomach. She's still nervous despite the fact that she's in the industry for four years now.
She fears what the new director will ask of her. She supposedly had her first filming a month ago, but the film director had a cardiac arrest and died. Consequently, the director was changed.
Christine was all the more nervous as the new director was the notorious playboy of the movie industry, Marty Jacobs. She has never met him and has never seen or looked at his photo because she is not interested in anyone like him.
The information she had about him was just what she heard from others in the film industry. She heard that he was gorgeous and dangerously sexy and that no one could resist his charm.
“I don’t want to be added to his collections of lovers.” Christine muttered as she did her morning skin care routine.
Since she had no car of her own, Christine took a cab to the film venue and arrived early, none of her co - actors have arrived yet. Only the film crews who were setting up were there. She went to the dressing room and put her things there. After that, she went to the garden, she spotted upon walking into the dressing room.
A phone call prevented Christine from admiring the beautifully landscaped garden. She fished out her phone from her pocket.
“Good morning Cassandra.” Cassandra is Christine’s stage name.
“Good morning, Ms. Grace,” Christine greeted her manager in a raspy voice like she had just woken up.
“Cassandra, are you in the film venue yet?” Grace had always checked all actors under her management. She wants them to conduct themselves professionally and being tardy is a big no to her.
“Don’t you worry Ms. Grace, I never come late despite the fact that I don’t really enjoy my job. ” Christine said with a sigh.
"You've been in the industry for four years now and, to be precise, four years and five months now. You have to enjoy your work and get accustomed to it" Grace at the other end of the line had sighed also.
Grace knew that Christine a.k.a. Cassandra only bears to stay in the industry because of her family. Christine comes from an impoverished family, she is the eldest daughter and has two siblings. Her parents were ill and she therefore became the breadwinner and had to work to support them.
“By the way, did you come again to the venue with your usual outfit, jogger pants and a sweatshirt?” Grace convinced Christine a thousand times to dress up when going to the filming.
“As always,” Christine chuckled.
"Why won't you pay attention to me? You are such a stubborn person!" Grace couldn't cover up her frustration.
“Ms. Grace, let me be. I don’t want men ogling at me. ” Christine said her usual reply whenever they touched this issue.
"You purchase a car so you don't have to take a cab every time you go to film," Grace suggested.
"It's not my priority yet," said Christine alias Cassandra.
She's saving up on her dream. She's working as a freelance interior designer and wants to set up her own interior design company upon quitting her acting and modelling career.
"You know my dream of starting a business." That was no secret from Grace about Christine alias Cassandra's dream.
“Yeah, I remember it.” Grace is supportive of her talents’ dreams and ambitions so she always sees to it that every step they take will lead them to the realization of that dream.
“You have to give it your best shot in this film. This could lead you to realizing your dream. ” Grace advised.
"Yes, I'll do the best I can." Cassandra (Christine) picked a flower while she was talking.
"By the way, I need to call it off now. Be good! ” Grace needs to phone another talent under her management.
“Bye, I love you!” Christine said
“Love yah!” Grace replied and ended the call.
Considering she's still 45 minutes away from filming.
She opened her phone camera, then lifted her phone and posed, she took several photos of herself.
She looked at the photos and was stunned to see a very handsome man wearing black t - shirt and jeans with his arms crossed over his chest.
She cringed thinking that it was a ghost. She slowly turned and saw the man, still standing, with his arms folded over his chest, gazing stoically at her. Christine felt that her heart was going to leap from her chest.
The man is extremely handsome and exudes an aura of power, he didn’t speak but Christine felt a shiver. She didn’t look at him for so long nor gave him a second look, for she couldn't stand his gaze on her, so she walked towards the dressing room hurriedly.

Christmas Eve New Zealand Jacobs Estate After dinner the children excitedly went into the living room waiting for Marty to read a story for them. He sat at the love seat beside Christine, before opening the book he kissed Christine’s forehead. He placed the book on his lap, then placed his left arm around Christine’s shoulders and she leaned her head on Marty’s shoulder. And then he began to read the story for the children. Christine looked up, admiringly at her husband who was reading the story. As usual he switches voices to suit the character. After finishing the story the children went to kiss both Christine and Marty. “Grandpa, thank you for reading the book for us,” the 7 years old Jackson, their eldest grandson said and kissed Marty’s cheeks and then went to Christine and kissed her cheeks also and hugged both Christine and Marty telling them “I love you both to the moon and back.” That is what his mom, Cassie and father, Jared always tell him. Cassie and Jared got married
The doctor and nurses silently watched Marty grieving. They heard every word Marty told his wife. Their hearts go to Marty, seeing how broken he was. While Marty sobbing, Christine gasped and simultaneously opened her eyes. “Babe, you’re alive!” Marty shouted with joy. The doctor and nurses came running to them and attended to Christine immediately. Marty's tears didn’t stop welling up. “God, thank you,” he said while watching his wife. When the doctor was certain that Christine’s were fine they wheeled her into her suite. Marty stayed by her side and didn’t want to leave her. “Babe, how are the babies doing?” Christine asked when she didn’t see the babies in the room. “They're fine, they’ll be here after the newborn screening,” Marty brushed his thumb on her cheek, Marty’s vision became blurry as his tears pooled in his eyes and tears rolled down. He bent forward and hugged her tightly. “Please, don’t leave me babe,” he said incoherently while crying. Christine could feel his
Corrine went to the airport to pick up Jeremy. She was really pleased to see Jack and Jared. "Hey, little man, you're here to surprise your mom?" Corrine asked Jared while he ruffled his soft blond hair. "Yup," Jared answered her with a smirk. Corrine chuckled at his expression and said, "You really look and act like your dad." "Of course, he is good looking and smart like me," Jack said with a smug face. "Your son is an even better version of you. He's a lot more handsome and smarter than you." "He doesn't have that look and that brain if I wasn't his dad," Jack retorted while Corrine snorted. The next day, a limousine came to fetch Christine's best friends from the hotel. Christine was pacing back and forth in the living room while she eagerly awaited her best friends' arrival. Marty was worried about her condition and held her arm and said, "Babe, sit down, don't strain yourself.". He directed her towards the couch and sat down. Christine w
"No doubt she is Stella's daughter, she is the spitting image of her mother.” watching Christine attentively, her eyes soft. She and Stella were best friends. Whatever Stella had, she also had. Stella treated her like her own sister. Looking at Christine, Lorna reminisces the happy moments she had with Stella. After a couple of moments of reminiscence, she took Christine's hand and said, "My uncle had sought you out all these years. I am so pleased that you are finally here." Christine smiled feebly, she didn't know how to answer Lindsey's mother. She is trying to digest the fact that the woman who wanted to destroy her marriage was actually a family. And she's kind of baffled by the difference in attitude between Lindsey and Lorna; they're like the south and north poles. One has a trashy attitude while the other is gentle and kind. Are they really related to each other? She shudders at the thought that Lindsey is actually her cousin, that Marty meeting Lindsey is in
Señor Dela Vega squinted his eyes and gave Lindsey a side glance and said, "Are you even trying to manipulate me?" Lindsey trembled when Senor Dela Vega spoke to her in an authoritative tone. He didn't speak to her the way he did. He always doted on her and spoke to her gently. "I'm sorry, grandpa," she whispered. Senor Dela Vega ignored her and stared at Marty and said, "I want to meet your wife.". Everything Lindsey said to him was exactly the opposite of what he heard from Marty. And he was intrigued and wanted to see Christine. Senor Dela Vega stood up from the couch and refused Lindsey's assistance. He was disgusted with everything he had learned from Marty. He thought she was an innocent and pure girl, but she was quite the contrary. Marty came near Christine and whispered something in her ear. Her heartbeat began to pick up as if it's like a racing horse. She took a slow breath to calm down. Christine lowered her head as she was still nervous to meet Lindsey's grandfather.
Rather than being weakened by what Lindsey did, their relationship strengthened. Marty has proven to Christine that he has not cheated on her and her trust in him was fortified. The deed that was meant to tear them apart drew them closer together and made their marriage stronger. "Are you okay?" Marty asked her while they were heading to the fashion show. "I'm nervous, the last time I performed was the Awards Night five years ago," Christine ruefully said. Marty remembered her performance and said, "Yeah, you danced like you weren't carrying our baby." "I couldn't back out at the time because I only learned that I was pregnant two weeks before the Awards Night and can't think of a plausible reason so that they will replace me. And I can't disclose that I was pregnant," Christine explained. Marty felt culpable and said, "I'm sorry." Christine cupped his face and told him, "Babe, you have already said sorry a thousand times over. It's happened before and there's no undoing the past
