Chapter 5: The Meeting

"... in conclusion, the marketing team recommends that we continue to push out a strong digital campaign to maximise the outreach to the public while keeping within the budget set for the year. Thank you." Nyx concluded her presentation and bowed as the room filled with polite applause for her presentation. "Any questions?" Nyx asked, hoping there wasn't any that she wouldn't be able to answer.

"For the social content, has this been done alongside the PR efforts for this campaign?" one of the PR directors asked. "Yes, we have been working closely with the PR team to ensure consistent communication fronts between both marketing and PR." Nyx responded. The PR director nodded approvingly and did not comment any further. Silence enveloped the room as Nyx fidgeted nervously, waiting to be released.

"The budget, this looks like it's more than the amount that I had approved at the beginning of the year." A deep voice from the back of the room said. "Is the numbers accurate?" Nyx froze, as the owner of the voice was none other than the 'Dev' himself! Eyes darting back and forth anxiously, Nyx looked at Revel pleadingly for help. Revel saw her pleading eyes and stood up, "Yes, Mr Lycon. The budget in this presentation was based off the figures that Jean had shared with us in the beginning of the year, and we have diligently ensured that we kept within the budget amount that was set." Revel responded calmly as he looked straight towards the source of the voice.

"Then Jean's figures are wrong. The amount that I approved was 20% lesser than the amount that has been projected here, which means all the results would be wrong as well." the deep voice replied, "Check through this entire presentation once more before showing it to me again." he commanded, before he stood up and left the room. Jean looked like he was ready to kill Nyx and Revel, while the rest of the room looked awkwardly at each other and one by one, filed out of the room, leaving the marketing team alone by themselves.
