33 - Hide and Seek

I had just finished taking Gideon for the eighth time today, and he was obviously very tired at this point. Normally he'd curl up and fall asleep with me, but for some reason he was fighting off the notion of having a nap.
"I'm just hungry," he waved off my worries and let out a long yawn.
"Right," I drawled out the word, looking at him skeptically.
Gideon got up off the bed, tossing on his underwear and grabbing the room phone. He handed me the menu, letting me get whatever I wanted.

MORDECAI "Focus man," Brody slapped a hand on my shoulder. "I'm about to go up." Focusing lately had been hard. Gideon and I were more distant than when I had thought of rejecting him. He would leave before I woke up, and not come home until well past midnight. The only thing that let me know he even bothered coming to the house was the sound of his shower running at some point. Even when we were in the same room he'd look at the floor and leave without saying anything. The bags beneath his eyes and frazzled appearance let me know he was getting very little sleep.
