"Ah!, Kwame what is the preschool teacher doing here?" Serwaa asked she joined them at the restaurant.

"She's my guest, and she has a name." He added.

"Let's not talk about that, why did you keep me waiting for half an hour? Some of us have work to do o." He angrily said.

"Mr Man, I won't have you insult me because of your chicken change, I have men who are willing to spend on me and not stingy men like you wai." She barked.

"Abeg, give me my money and let me get out of here." She barked as Kwame gave her a whopping sum of Gh¢100,000,00.00 making Akosua open her mouth wide as he signed the check.

"If you need me, give me a call ya." She took her purse and left shaking her ass in the process.

"Now where were we?" He asked as they continued with their conversation.

I have to make a plan for these girls. Serwaa, Akosua, Amma, Nella and the rest of them. I need to see who would love me for who I am and not what I am. He thought to himself as he sipped on his cold beer. Maakua had gone to her grandma's place for the weekend.

They seem to be close to me because of my money. Let's see who would be willing to stay beside me and help when I become a pauper. He smiled.

"Kwame, I don't like this o, but if it will make you find a good wife then I am okay with it, you aren't getting younger by the way." His mother said through the phone.

"Trust me Ma, I'd be fine but I would want Maakua to be staying with you while I execute this plan. I don't want her to suffer. She's my heartbeat." Kwame explained.

"I understand Kwame, but what of school?" She questioned. "Don't worry, I'd be taking her to school in a taxi and after school, I'd bring her over." He said.

"Okay son, but tread carefully and all the best, You would need it."

"Thanks, Ma." He smiled as he called his office to execute the plan.

"Akosua, have you read the papers today ?" Abena asked rushing to her friends class as the siren sounded for recess.

"No, Abena." She said as they sat at the teacher's table to go through the paper. The headlines read "THE CEO OF TULLOW GHANA IN POLICE CUSTODY FOR COVERING UP FOR HIS ACCOUNTANTS FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES."

"Ow, but must they hold him in remand? Can't they talk about it within the four corners of the organization?" Imelda asked restlessly.

She tried calling his phones but they were off.  "Miss Gazzey, can you take care of my class for me? I have an issue I need to take care of." Imelda pleaded.

"Of course I will, " She smiled as Akosua picked her bag and hurried out of the office. She stopped a taxi and then directed him to the police station where he was held custody. As soon as she saw him behind the counter, her heart broke. His eyes looked blood red, his hair was messy and was bruised.

She talked to the commander about the issue and was granted bail because of how good a person he was to them.

"What happened?" She asked as She helped button his shirt because he was too weak to do so.

"I'd explain later, let's go." He said as they stopped a taxi and entered directing him.

"Abena, where's Maakua?" Akosua called as she remembered that the little girl was not with them.

"Calm down, Akosua she's here with me at home." Abena consoled as Akosua sighed a relief.

"Thank you, we'd be right there." She added hanging up as the driver stopped in front of her house. She told them to wait while she went inside for Maakua and a couple of things for herself.

"Please, let's Go." She said directing him to Kwame's house. She paid off the driver and then helped Kwame down, then carried a sleeping Maakua in her hands with her luggage as they headed inside. She put Maakua to sleep and then headed to Kwame's room to help him.

After his shower, she prepared his well-garnished indomie(noodles) since that was the only food available. She helped him to eat, while none of them said anything to another.

After the meal, she gave him drugs and then helped clean his wounds. She left his room to the guest room after he fell asleep to rest.

How could all these happen within a few days? She thought to herself. She checked the time and it was midnight. She had to rest even though the next day was a public holiday.

Akosua entered the kitchen with her robe around her. "Good morning." She greeted the people at the table. "Good morning Akosua, this is My mom. She's here to pick Maakua to live with her for the rest of the week." He explained. "Okay, hello ma, nice to meet you." She greeted.

"Hello, Akosua...thank you for yesterday Kwame told me. May God bless you." She stated. "Oh ma, don't mention it". She added as Mrs Boateng took Maakua and Akosua helped put the little girl's luggage in the car. The little girl hugged her friend as she sat in the car and the driver driving off.

"Are you okay?" She asked Kwame as she walked into the kitchen sitting beside him.

"Hmmm, I'm just confused and shocked at the whole thing. The reports he used to bring didn't show anything of such that I was accused of being part of or knowing. They didn't even listen to me, they just handed me over to the police and relieved me of my position.

Closing all my accounts, seizing all my cars except the house which they left for me. Akosua, I'm doomed, heeeeei!" He exclaimed as he put his hands in his head.

"Hmm, Kwame we thank God for your life. Everything will fall in place just you wait." She said as Serwaa called his phone.

"Hey babe, I'm still waiting for the money you promised." She whined. "Ah! Serwaa didn't you see the news?"He asked.

" What has that got to do with me?" She asked as Akosua left the kitchen to the guest room.

"Are you serious Akosua?" Abena asked disbelievingly. "Yes, I am. He's lost practically everything." She explained.

"I hope you're taking good care of him?" Abena asked. "Of course I am, this is when he needs me the most and I'm not going to abandon him." She explained.

"Serwaa, I'm finished I've lost everything I own." He cried. "My friend, stop joking and then wire me the money." She added almost losing her temper.

"Hah! Serwaa, I'm serious I don't have any more money." He concluded.

"Okay o, get your poverty-stricken self off my line, never call me again. Fool. Ad3n aaa(what's the problem) I've lost everything mtchwwww." She added as she hung up.

"What's wrong?" Akosua asked fully dressed holding her bag. "Its Serwaa, she just insulted me and hung up. Warning me to never call her again." He said. "Hmm, its fine don't stress yourself." She stated.

"Are you going somewhere?" He asked Akosua. "I'm going to get more of my clothes from my house and then a few foodstuffs. I'd be back soon" She told.

"Okay, be safe." He added smiling as Akosua left.

“Young woman, the man you married is the cause of your childlessness, you have t o seek God's intervention before it's too late." A young pastor said to Serwaa. She had parked her car in front of a supermarket and was getting stuff for her baby.“Ɛii, asɔfofoɔ aa moaba,sɛi aa na afɛ no aso, kyerɛsɛ wahu sɛ me wɔ sika nti no, me kunu yɛ sika adro, fi maniso kɔ ee (Prophets of doom, you've seen I'm a rich woman and so you're claiming my husband does money rituals, leave my sight)."She said to him.“Woman had I known is always at last." He said and walked off. She shrugged him off and continued with her shopping with no care in the world.“Kwesi, nansa niɛ aa wo piɛ afeɛ na wo ba (Kwesi, it's been three days you left and you're now coming)?"Aku asked as he walked into the house.“Madam Slay queen, do you think I would stay with you, having sex with you isn't interesting m

~ A few months later~Akosua rushed to the bathroom to puke her guts out. She had been feeling a little sick for a couple of days now.“Ma, ɛden na,ɛye wo(Mom, what's wrong with you)?" Maakua asked.“I don't feel too well." She told the girl as Kwame came from the kitchen.“What is it?" He asked spotting his wife's pale face.“I don't feel too good." She admitted.“We need to go see a doctor," Kwame said.“But you have to go to the house today, today's the day that evil woman leaves once and for all." She determined.“Don't worry dear, I've made Kwabena pose as the buyer, I would join him after we get back," Kwame added.“Alright love." She smiled at him. She was glad she was getting her home back.“Maakua, I'm taking your Mom to the hospital so do take care of the house," Kwame instructed.&

“Morning ɔdɔ(Morning love)" Kwame greeted Akosua who lay beside him peacefully. He had spent the night with her when he came visiting the previous day. They were sneaking around like two teenagers in love. “Hey, how was your night?" She lay smiling at her. “It was wonderful, I enjoyed you." He added moving close to kiss her as she moved her head. “Morning breathe." She added as she walked towards the bathroom to brush her teeth. It read 4:30 am. He had to prepare for work and drop Maakua at school. Even though she was well, the school had given her a two week grace period before she resumed. Akosua came out of the bathroom and headed to Maakua's room. She would sleep the whole day if she didn't wake her up. “Maakua" Akosua called knocking on the door as she opened it. She had just emerged from the shower when she heard her mother's knock on the door. “Good morning, darling you don't look good." She said to her. “I think I've started my menses, I saw blood in my underwear when I

“What is happening with my kids at all? Why did Todd decide to move to the Northern region all of a sudden? I know my son, there's something he's not talking about. And Eleanor too, what is she up to now that her name is almost everywhere?" Baafi asked herself sitting on her couch. Father, come to our aid. She silently prayed. Serwaa had finally given birth to her baby, that's what most people thought. They had finally adopted the one-week-old baby after a week of her fake delivery. Her mother had come to stay with them and was taking care of the baby girl, surprisingly, she looked like Leo. Yaa and Maabena turned the music on a little louder. They had gotten more money than they used to get before and they were excited. “The club isn't the best place to find a lover So the bar is where I goMe and my friends at the table doing shotsDrinking fast and then we talk slowCome over and start up a conversation with just meAnd trust me I'll give it a chance nowTake my hand, stop, p

“Hey," Kwame said as Akosua opened the door for him. “Hi, good morning" She responded ushering him inside. “Da!" Maakua called as she hugged her dad. It was a Saturday morning and he decided to come to check on them after his morning run. “Sweety, ɛtɛsen( How are you)?" He asked his daughter. Akosua was still sleepy so she retired back to bed leaving her husband and daughter to bond. “I'm fine Daddy." She answered. “Hey, let's do something for mom, she seems tired," Kwame suggested. “She stressed herself too much yesterday, that's why," Maakua confessed. Kwame and Maakua entered the kitchen to prepare food for Akosua. Eleanor checked the news headlines and once again she was on the front page. The caption read, " Eleanor Quansah is a gold digger" It further said: Eleanor found her way into Tullow Oil not to work but have an agenda of her own. She had an agenda before applying for a position at Tullow Oil, you want to know what her agenda was? Well, she had planned to seduce t

“Aidah, are you sure you know him that well to fall for him. For Christ sakes, you met him three days ago and you're already professing love? What if he's a criminal in disguise or has done something terrible and is on the run?" Kisiwaa, her best friend asked. “Kisiwaa, he's not a criminal, he's a sweet charming young man and isn't like any of my exes. I'm a successful 28year old woman. I'm rich, I have my own apartment here and houses in other regions, all I need is a man to share all of this with." Aidan told her. “I know Aidah, but be careful," Kissiwaa advised as she continued with her meal. “But Aidah, wanka ankyere me nea asiii wo ne Kent ntamu aa mogyae mepenna twe no ( You never told me what happened between you and Kent that led to your breakup)," Kissiwaa said. “Kissiwaa, asem wei na wɔ bɛ bɔ so no( Kissiwaa, is this what you want to talk about)?" Aidah asked her. “Yes, I want to know." She firmly added. “What really happened was that... Kent and I met long before we st

Akosua was being discharged from the hospital that day. Kwame was coming to take her to her house. He had told her his plans of getting rid of Eleanor, and until she was out of his house she had to stay with Maakua at her house and he promised to come see them every other day. “Da, I hope you stick to your promise, no browning(disappointment)," Maakua added as he initiated a curve. “I would stick to my promise dear, no fake promises, I've come to my senses." He told her. “It's good you did." She said earning a knock from her mother. “Ajeei(Ouch) Ma," She whined. “Fiii, fiii, is that how to talk to your father?" She asked. “Da I'm sorry." She pouted. “Its fine dear." He chuckled, forcing himself not to laugh. “Thanks for dropping us home and thanks for everything," Akosua said. “No need to thank me, I'm trying to make things right. I've regretted everything I did. I hope you find it deep within to forgive me." He pleaded. “Its fine Kwame, I've forgiven you already." She smile

“Ah, Eleanor why have you scattered my house like that? Do I owe you? Are any of your belongings here? Ha, what sort of life is that you better be very very careful. Be careful so you don't incur my anger or else you wouldn't like it." He fumed walking into the bedroom. He had come home to pick a few things and net his house in that state. He opened his safe and took all his important documents including that of the house and left a fake copy of the house documents in his drawer.Unknowingly to her, Nelson was Kwame's informant. He told him every move that Eleanor had taken. But he decided to play along, waiting to catch her redhanded.“Kwame I was trying to clean the house, nothing more or less, by the way, where are you going to?" She asked.“I have a conference and the venue is quite far from home so I'm stating at Kwabena's place until it's over. I'd see you in the office tomorrow." He said.“But you have a conference?"
