Prologue

'i never thought that this could happen but sometimes the things we least expect always happens.'

"ERIKA!!!".

"WATCH OUT!!!!".

Everything went so fast that before I knew it or could do anything the car had already collided with my body and I was floating on air.

It took me two seconds to realize what had happened, something that I was unable to do stop as my body flops down.

i heard footsteps which means someone was running towards me calling my name and that's all i could hear before everything became pitch black............

The bed feels so soft and familiar so much but I could feel that it isn't my bed because the scent I was used wasn't there.

I hear voices around me making so much noise that I want to ignore so bad but somehow I couldn't.

I open my eyes slowly coming in contact with the blinding lights making me flinch instantly.i immediately close my eyes for few seconds before opening it again,this time I turned my head towards my side.

I blink a few times so I could adjust to the lights looking around me in the process, everywhere looked so unfamiliar with the white background and white celling which isn't to my taste.

By now,I could confirm that I wasn't in my room.i don't know where I am at the moment but I have to say that the room painting annoys me.

Everywhere was just too whitish for my liking.

I touch my throat as I try to speak but I couldn't as my throat was dry,too dry.

I scanned my surrounding for water,my eyes immediately catching sight of the cup of water on the desk beside which I tried to reach out to grab but was held back because of the drip that was connected to my hands.

I wait a bit hoping that maybe someone would come towards me but they all seemed busy talking, talking about something I couldn't fatom.

They were so engrossed in whatever they were talking about to even notice that I was awake.

I try speaking again but I still couldn't,my throat is too dry and it hurts.i need water but it seems far fetched.i try shifting my hand that was free from the drip to get anyone's attention.

No one seemed to notice though so I try coughing which seems to work out seeing as one person turned and ran to my side.

"She's awake.she's awake".I hear someone say then I heard different footsteps running towards me.

"Oh God.erica you are awake".

"Thank goodness you finally woke up".

"How are you?".

"I was so scared.....".a lot of questions from different people but I couldn't care less about them right now,all I need right now is water."wa....ter".I managed to say but no one seemed to hear me though,they all were too busy asking questions.

I was getting frustrated with everyone,I thought they would give me water but they are busy making noises."wa....te..r".I tried asking for water again.

Before I could get more frustrated, someone spoke up."Everyone!".they became silent looking surprised.

"You shouldn't disturb her when she only just woke up".it was the nurse who seems to have notice my pilght."you should have offered her water at least and call for the doctor to check up on her instead you are makking noise".

The nurse was rude but no one said anything about her attitude as they all focused on me because she was speaking the truth.

A harsh truth.

"oh my goodness.am so silly".the woman who ran to me earlier slaps herself in the face."do you need water?".

"It's no need".the woman turned to look at the nurse who looks annoyed as she spoke."you should all leave the room now.i need to perform my duties".

Everyone in the room seemed hesitant but then seeing the stern look on the nurse face,they left the room leaving me alone with the rude nurse.

"Are you feeling pains anywhere?".she asked as she checks my body.

"No".

"Are you sure?".

"yes".

"that's good then".she says after she finishes checking my body."please take a rest while I communicate with the doctor in charge of you.i will be back soon ".I watch her walk away from me and then I sighs as she leaves my view.

"Dear".an elderly woman moved slowly towards me like she's afraid of something.if I had the strength ,I might have asked her.

Maybe I actually might when I am all better.

"Are you okay?".she says still walking slowly towards me.it makes me wonder how long she was going to take to get to my side.

"um..am fine".I don't really know what to say and how to speak to her.i don't know what relationship we might have had since my memory is failing me.

"Okay".she said then with a nod added."that's good".

"um..can I ask a question?".

"Go on honey".she said."feel free to ask me anything."

"What happened to me?.how did I come here?".she seemed a bit surprised but then she smiled a bit.

"It was a car accident honey".she said."a little accident but you don't need to worry about that right now.you should focus on your recovery first okay?".it looks like she was trying to change the topic but I don't know the reason.

Maybe she's sensitive?

"Okay". whatever the reason is,I could ask later but I should focus on healing first.

"Right now, it's your recovery that matters".she said."that's the priority currently".I watch her stand up after she finished speaking and got closer to me."you should get some rest". I realize that she was trying to adjust the bed that I was lying on so I could be more comfortable.

"Thank you".was all I managed to say, feeling a lot drowsy already.

She stood still by my side giving me a small smile.

"Sleep Erika"...

I was standing on top of a building, don't know how I got there though.

As I tried to find who was calling me, thick fog covered the area making unable to see.

Sundenly the air felt so tight that it became hard to breathe,it was chocking me so hard that I began to struggle.

"ERICA!".

I was jolted up awake as my mom shaked me vigorously.she was staring at me with a shocked look."are you okay?".she asked me but I couldn't reply as I was still breathing heavily.

"it was a dream".no that wasn't a dream but a nightmare.

And that was how my story begins.
