Never Date a Bad Boy

CASSANDRA

Her eyes fluttered as he took a step closer to her, heart beating with both hate and desire when she felt his breath on her neck. His hand slowly wrapped around her waist. She couldn't do anything. She was weak. His touch made her weak.

"Tell me you don't want this and I'll stop."

Ken said to her as he planted a kiss on her neck.

She shuddered from the effect, grabbing his hand that was making its way to her breast now.

"I...Ken... please...stop..." she managed to whisper but she was losing the battle. He knew how to get through to her.

"You can never leave me, Cassandra. We belong together." He said and sniffled her hair, moaning as he did. Then he suddenly turned her around and grabbed her face.

She whimpered as he did, looking deep into his eyes. why could she not fight? why was she so weak under his touch? She knew she needed to run, she needed to hide from him. Their relationship had become unhealthy. But he had so much power over her.

He pulled her in for a kiss and for a moment, she could feel his tongue devouring her lips. she lost control of her senses and kissed him back. It was deep and intimate. His hand ran down to her ass and he grabbed it. She needed to come back to her senses but when he grabbed her and placed her on the table, she knew she had lost the battle.

'Run, Cassandra! Run!'

Her subconscious screamed at her but she could not gather the strength. A moan escaped her lips as he took his shirt off and pulled her body closer to his. She found herself grabbing his belt buckle and just at that moment, she seemed to come back to her senses.

She pushed him off with all the strength she had in her at that particular moment before she lost them again. He groaned as he staggered back, his bulge pressing tightly to the outline of his trousers.

"No more. Enough!" She managed to scream before she picked up her phone and dashed out of the room, jumping through the window as the only means of escape.

(A year later)

"Come back to me."

She read the text from the chime that had vibrated her phone and sighed. It was another beautiful Monday but yet, the strings from the past which still attached to her kept getting stronger by the minute. Her ex-boyfriend could not take no for an answer. He still wanted her. However, she had sworn not to go back to him, not after everything that happened between them. But when she thought about it, she realized she had changed my contacts after fleeing from him in Saint Franco's City. How did he get her number?

Never date a bad boy.

She was warned, but she had decided to tempt fate. How could she not when Ken, her ex was charming enough to sweep her off her feet in just a single attempt to woe her? Not to mention he was extremely good-looking. However, the good times did not last, the terrible moments did. But that was a time from the past and she was trying to get over that. That was why she came to Roseville in the first place, a fresh start, a clean slate. No more bad boys; or so she told herself.

"I'm sorry..."

Another chime and it was still him. She was tempted to reply but did not. So when the taxi pulled over at Reels Pharmaceuticals, she took a deep breath, checked her outfit, and stepped out of the car. She had an interview that morning and nothing was going to ruin it. As she alighted from the car, she took a look at the Company for the millionth time, and every time, it seemed to amaze her. The amount of money spent to build a place like that was out of this world. It was easily the biggest company in the country, so when she saw a flier about a personal assistant for the CEO, she did not think twice before she applied. Luckily, she was selected for the interview. Her eyes rolled to the side and she saw the face of the CEO himself on the billboard just at the side of the building.

Vincent Downey-the dangerously attractive man in the Billboard. He had a crooked smile on his face and everything about him screamed bad boy. She had looked him up on social media and he was a classy type-always in a black suit with that crooked smile. She found him handsome, she could not lie, but that was just about it. If there was anything her ex taught her, it was the fact that handsome men were trouble, and she was not ready for another drama.

"Never date a bad boy," she calmly reminded herself. "Pull yourself together Cassandra, you are here for a job," she told herself again as she walked into the company. she smiled at the receptionist and went up to the 25th floor where she met about twelve girls and two guys already in the queue. Did they all come for the same interview she did? That would be a disaster.

"He's going to interview us himself. Gosh, I'm so nervous!"

One of the girls said. The girls all looked like models with their perfect bodies and blouses that revealed the outline of their breasts. They did not come there to be just personal assistants alone, they came for something else. She sat down at the rear end and sighed. She had to get the job. she was tired of the bills that were piling up. She was already tired of the city itself. she needed that job, but when she looked at the girls fighting for the same position as her, she seemed to be unqualified.

"I heard he is even more handsome in person. The photos do him no good." One of the girls said and chuckled. She was easily the most attractive among the other girls and she had some sort of superiority complex. They were talking about the CEO and she could not help but eavesdrop.

"Well, I heard he's into weird things. The company is just a front." Another girl said. All others including herself seemed interested to know more.

"Look, it's just a rumor. We all know that's not true right? Would I be here if it was?" The girl asked again.

"Maybe. Maybe you just like bad boys. You'll gladly throw yourself into danger no Matter the repercussions." The girl with the superiority complex said. She scoffed and resumed her discussions with the rest. Time flew and she could bear it no longer. No one was even attending to them. She sighed. She saw a free coffee stand and decided to get some. Might as well help with the wait.

It did not take long for her to get the coffee, but when she turned around to go back to her seat, someone suddenly bumped into her, pushing her to the ground and spilling the coffee on her body. Cassandra heard gasps from all the other girls waiting in the waiting line but she was even more surprised when the person that had ruined her outfit did not attempt to apologize. He was making a phone call and he was deep in it. He did not even spare her a look, and she was not going to take that.

"Hey!" she started, standing up and running towards him. "Hey, I'm talking to you!" she said and pushed his shoulder. He stopped, turned around, and looked at her for a moment. she was visibly angry and her ruined dress made it all worse.

"Yes?" He asked her as he hung up the phone. He was unbelievable!

"You pushed me to the ground and spilled my coffee. Are you not going to apologize?" she asked him. He looked at her again, frowning as he did. He looked quite familiar to her but he had his ear pierced, hair dyed white, and wore a simple shirt on a simple pair of jeans. The shirt showed the outline of his muscles, something she was fighting not to notice.

"You were standing in the way. Next time, watch where you stand." He said and turned around to leave. She could not believe it. Really?

"Asshole. Who the hell do you think you are?" she yelled at him. Other persons were beginning to gather at the scene already. He stopped, turned around, and looked at her.

"Well, who are you?" He asked her. He had gotten very Angry with the way she was behaving but he asked for it. He took four steps closer to her and soon stood face-to-face with her. He looked down into her eyes, trying to intimidate her with his stature but she was not having that. she looked back and after a weird moment had passed between them, he scoffed and walked away.

She felt embarrassed. Some weird guy just ruined the only chance she had at getting a good job when all she had brought to The table was a beautiful face and a great dress. Now, what was she supposed to do?

she dashed down the long hall and soon found the bathroom where she began to wash off the coffee stains from her dress. Luckily, it did not stain much. So she quickly hurried out back to the queue. But then Cassandra found people already going inside for an interview. Was he there already?

Two others had come in after her and the interview seemed to be taking far shorter time than expected. Any of the girls that went inside came out crying. When it got to the turn of the girl with the superiority complex, the one they called Monica, Cassandra was given a tag. She was next in line. Monica seemed to take her time before she eventually came outside. She had a smile on her face as she did. As she left, she looked at Cassandra. and chuckled. Did she get the job already?

"Next." The receptionist called and Cassandra walked inside. She was nervous and compared to Monica, she did not think she had a chance at getting the job, especially not when she had smiled out when others cried.

she walked into the office and she was immediately shocked by what I saw.

"Have a seat." The CEO said to her. There at the desk, sitting opposite her was the man she had fought earlier.

He was the CEO? No, it wasn't possible.

The CEO she knows certainly did not dress like that man. The CEO was classy, that man was not. He was rugged. The man looked up and when he saw me, he seemed intrigued.

"Well well, here we are again. Isn't this just interesting?" He said and chuckled wickedly. She did not say anything.

"What brings you to my office?" He asked her. she looked at him in disbelief. He knew what

she came for but when his look lingered, she knew he wanted her to say it. she was angry, but she needed the job and anger was not going to pay the bills.

"I am here for the job, sir." she slowly replied.

"So why don't you start by apologizing for making a scene in the lobby?" He asked. Was he serious?

"Me? You should be the one apologizing but, that's something you do not know how to do.", she shot out at him. Oh Lord, she needed to control her mouth. He frowned now like he was not used to getting talked to like that.

"What are your qualifications?" He asked and suddenly switched to formal mode. She handed him her papers and he took a look at them. Then he tossed it at her.

"Not good enough." He said.

"Excuse me? I graduated with a first-class degree and that's not enough for you?" she asked him. What else did he want?

"Yes. Not enough. But I am willing to hire you right here and now if you would apologize to me." He said and leaned in closer towards her, her heart racing in her chest as he did. He was damn attractive and she was beginning to see the resemblance now. It was him.

But she could not do what he wanted. she would not stoop so low. she grabbed her papers from the desk, stood up, and scoffed.

"You know what? Fuck you," she said and walked out of the office, slamming the door behind her as she did.

"You did what?" Lila, her best friend screamed from the other side of the phone. she sighed as she took a taxi home. Did she make a mistake in bailing out like that?

"Girl, you need to go back there and apologize. Do you know how many women will kill for that offer? A simple apology won't ruin your life, Cassie." Lila continued.

"No Lila. I cannot do that. I may be desperate but I still know my worth. I won't bring myself down to his feet. He is mean and rude and arrgh! He irritates me." she screamed, causing the taxi driver to take a look at her. Then she shot him a soft smile that disappeared almost immediately.

"He is rich. Rich people are mean. That's just the way life is. And you're complaining about stopping low, you work as a stripper sometimes. That's also low, you know."

"Precisely why I wanted this job. I do not want to live that way anymore," she said lightly.

"You should go back and apologize. Your bills will not pay themselves up. If you want to get off the streets, then get off your high horse and go apologize."

she thought about it for a moment. All it required was a little humility, right? But she just couldn't do it. she shook her head vigorously at the thought.

"No, I can't. I will find another job. Maybe this is not the right one for me."

"Alright fine..suit yourself. I gotta go. Call me later?"

"Sure," she said and hung up.

The drive soon ended at her apartment and she fell asleep on the couch. Life was being mean to her. Her only chance at leaving the dump of a place she could still barely pay for was ruined. Why was life so hard for her? When she woke up, it was already nighttime. she'd overslept. She checked her phone to see if her Ex had sent any other texts but he had not. Maybe he had finally gotten tired.

But then, the doorbell rang.

She walked towards the door and found a delivery man outside. He had a box in his hand and required her to sign. Who had sent her a package? She took the box inside and opened it. It was a dress, probably costing about five thousand dollars to get. She looked at the expensive dress with awe. What was going on? Then she saw a little note inside the box and she took it out to read it.

"Paradise restaurant. 8 pm. YOUR BOSS."

Oh, the universe had to be kidding her!
