Caspian's pov

The drive to the dinner was blissful but the more we get closer to the apartment, the more agitated Rex becomes.Not long we arrived at an apartment which happens to be where dad's mate leaves.dad got out of the car and straightened his suit.

'How do I look?"he asked."you look great dad " I said with a thumbs up as we marched towards the front door of the small but morden apartment.

Dad ring the doorbell and we heard footsteps walking towards the door. the door cracked open to reveal a beautiful looking lady who looks not more 35 years."Welcome to my home, Jacob."the lady said as dad gave her a kiss on the cheek.

I could see dad trying to calm Alec who wants to mark and mate his mate.

"And you must be Caspien,Nice to meet you"she said looking in my direction with a stretched hand."Nice meeting you too."I said shaking her hand.Rex who was pacing in my mind suddenly calmed down as a calming effect evolved me when I shook hands with Dad's mate.

"what was that Rex?"I mind linked Rex."Don't know Cas but what I do know is that it has something to do with Dad's mate."Rex said.

"Oh came inside and take a seat."dad's mate said stepping aside for us to enter.

"Where is your daughter?"dad asked when we sat around the dinner table."Oh she is getting ready and will be there in a minute."she said,tying anxiously on her phone with a worried expression.

"Guess her daughter doesn't like the idea of a step family."Rex said making me smirk as I also don't like the idea but in my case I have to deal with it.

I heard tha crack of a door upstairs as footsteps on the stairs draw closer making me turn my head towards the stairs only to see Lucy,my goddamn mate in crop top with jeans shorts.

Fuck these can't be happening."Maybe she is a friend of my soon to be sister and is just visiting."I thought praying to the moon goddess that it should be the case but guess she wants to punish me.

"Come here Lucy, meet Jacob and his son caspien."Jane said."Hi"was all Lucy said before settling herself in the chair beside mine.Sadness flashed in the eyes of Jane but she quickly masked it with a smile as she introduce Lucy to us.

"Jacob, caspien, meet my daughter Luciana."she said."Hi Lucy, nice to finally meet you.your has said a lot about you."dad said taking Jane's hand in his and giving it a gentle squeeze.

Rex tried to fight me for control to mark and mate his mate when he saw dad and Jane's interaction."hmm"Lucy said acknowledging Dad's greeting.

The atmosphere became awkward with an uncomfortable silence but it was broken by Lucy."Can we eat?"she asked looking at her mom for approval.

"Oh yes."Jane said taking the lids off the foods to reveal different varieties of seafood.Rex salivate when he saw the dishes and kept nagging me to dig in."Let's say the grace."Jane said as we joined hands.

fireworks explode in my body immediately my hands touch Lucy's.She turned to look at me with a questioning expression but looked away when we started saying the grace which confirmed that she also felt the fireworks which felt amazingly pleasant.Lucr hungrily devoured her food which was like a mountain and even dished more.

"WOW she eats like two grown wolves.'Rex said making me laugh as Everyone turned to look in my direction."What's so funny Cas?dad asked releasing his aura making me bare my neck in submission.

"stopp_d_a_d."I manage to mind link him but it seems Alec was angry at me for God knows what."what's wrong mom? you seem pressured."our heads snap towards Luci who was shoving crayfish into her mouth.

Dad reliazed that his aura was affecting Jane in the process of making me submit but it was not affecting Lucy which kept us wondering why?

"I don't know Lucy, I felt a lot of pressure few seconds ago."Jane said when dad redrew his ara."Umm okay."Lucy said going back to eating.

"Man she loves food."Rex said making me laugh again as dad turned to look at me with a fumming eye.He calmed down as Jane gently squeezed his hands.

"Young Man care to tell us what got you laughing so we can also share in your laughter?"dad asked as all eyes turned on me.

"Mmmm"I hesitated."Rex just said she eats like a starving wolf.1 was pointing towards Lucy as dad and Jane twitched their mouths to keep from laughing.

"Am sorry Lucy, don't take what Rex said to heart."dad apologized on behalf of Rex still trying to keep from laughing."Not that I care though but there's something am confused about."Lucy said.

"What's it Lucy?"dad asked."Who is Rex?"Lucy asked.

"Oh ooo cat's finally out of the bag."I thought.
