Adira’s POV My wolf was still purring after Alpha Liam had left the room. At first, I thought that he was here to tell me that I had to leave after what transpired on the training field, but when he looked into my eyes, I knew that wasn’t the case. But I had to walk on eggshells because I had no other place to go and I needed to stay on my best behavior here until I at least get my memory back and know where home was exactly. Wiping the mirror off from the steam that was caused by the shower, I look at the reflection looking back at me. Nothing about the person staring back at me looked familiar and I wondered how I didn’t even know what I looked like. Rummaging through the drawers of the vanity, I found a brush and began to comb out my long brown hair. It was long and sat down past my breast and I had to wonder if I had ever had a haircut. There was a knock on my door and I rushed towards it worried that it was the Alpha again and he had changed his mind about letting me stay h
Liam’s POV Sitting at the head of the table as I always do I find myself impatiently waiting for the new she wolf to arrive at dinner. I had told her five pm and I would have thought she would have been here by now, but it was five till and she still wasn’t here. The room was filling up fast as my pack continued to enter the dining room and the tables surrounding mine were now full. Blaze then walks in and takes his seat next to mine and I look over at him and ask, “Have you seen the new she wolf?” “Not since I put her in her room earlier, but I sent Lyra up with some clothes for her afterwards.” Blaze told me and I then began to scan the room for Lyra, as worry filled me that something had happened, when I realized her seat was empty too. Lyra was my baby sister and she had never really fit in with the rest of the pack and she kept to herself most of the time, because the other she wolves looked down on her because she wasn’t a warrior like the rest of them. Lyra had a kind h
Adira’s POV When dinner was over I felt a bit of relief as we got up to leave the table. I felt like everyone’s eyes were on me, especially after Alpha Liam had told the she wolf that he wouldn’t be joining them on a run tonight because of another engagement and I had to wonder what the other engagement was. “We can watch a movie tonight in my room, if you would like.” Lyra says to me as we go to move out of the dining room but we were stopped by Alpha Liam. “Go upstairs and change and meet me at the training area in ten minutes.” Alpha Liam said to me, as he moved past me and down a hallway. Looking at Lyra, I said, “Raincheck.” “It’s fine. I am sure he just wants to test your abilities. Maybe if its not to late we can still watch a movie.” Lyra said to me with hope, as we began to climb the stairs. “Sure, that would be great.” I said to her as we came to our floor and Lyra stopped at a door and said, “This is me. If you get back in time, just knock.” Assuring her I wou
Liam’s POV I must have run for miles, leaving off some heated steam, especially after feeling her lips on mine. There was no denying that I wanted this she wolf more then I have ever wanted anything in my life. The way our bodies moved in the training ring together as if we were one, was more of a dance than sparring, and it was as if our wolves were in sync with one another. One thing I was certain of was she was from Alpha blood, and she was definitely trained by an Alpha, and after removing her shirt, I was now sure she bared no mark of a mate. Which leads me to wonder why an Alpha would train this she wolf, especially since it is forbidden in all other packs. None of this made any sense to me and the more I thought about it the more I began to not care who she once was, but only cared that she was here right now, and she was a part of my pack. My wolf came to a halt as I found myself standing once again at the river that borders my lands, and I realized that I had followed h
Adira’s POV Alpha Liam’s arms wrapped around me felt like a protective blanket, after what he had just told me, but fear still filled me knowing that an elder Alpha was hunting me. I wish my memories would just come back and I would know why I had ended up here on his lands. I’ve had the sense that my wolf knew what happened and that she was the one protecting me from what transpired before I awoke here. As he held me tight to him, he whispers in my ear, “Stay with me tonight. Let my wolf have peace knowing that you are safe.” I had no clue what was going on between us and why he and his wolf were worried about my safety so much that he felt the need to protect me. The kiss that happened between us on the training field made me wonder if he had feelings for me, but when he disappeared into the night, I thought that he had regretted doing it. He never answered my question when I asked him about how I made him feel and I felt all confused about what was happening between the two o
Liam’s POV She was perfect, everything I could have ever hoped or prayed for, but I stopped because I didn’t know if I was good enough for her. How could she still be a virgin? I felt like the Moon Goddess was testing me. She didn’t belong to me, and I was sure that she had someone back at her pack searching for her. There was no way someone that possessed her skills and looked as good as her wasn’t spoken for, but she bared no mark. My heart was torn on what to do. Should I inform the other packs or should I keep her for myself. My wolf was in for the latter of the two, but I was torn. The moment we had just shared in my room was nothing like I had ever felt before and the connection was real and I know that she had felt it too. But once again, I ran from her, afraid to share my feelings and thoughts with her. Sitting in my office now alone, I decided to distract myself for a moment with the pile of paperwork on my desk. As I shifted through the paperwork, I came across the inv
Adira’s POV My cheeks began to heat up and I knew that they had to be a shade of dark pink at this moment, as Lyra says those words to Alpha Liam. I couldn’t believe she was accusing her Alpha of liking me, but what shocked me was that he stood there frozen, not denying it. I know he told me he wanted me but after finding out that I was a virgin, he once again ran off. “Why aren’t you answering me, big brother.” Lyra now said throwing me for another loop. I had no clue that Lyra was Alpha Liam’s sister, but I should have guessed with the way they were with each other, especially when he burst into her room tonight naked, and she covered her eyes. My eyes were now on Alpha Liam as I awaited to hear his answer to Lyra’s question. Alpha Liam looked from Lyra and then to me, and I could see turmoil in his eyes. Was he confused about what he wanted? Finally, he says, “It’s not that simple.” “What’s not that simple? You either like her or you don’t.” Lyra now tells him and I have to
Liam’s POV My body felt stiff as I awoke from the couch in my office. I thought about finding an empty room for the night, but I decided against it, after telling the new she wolf that I was going to stay in my office. A part of me hoped that she would have come to visit me last night, but another part of me knew if she did that, I probably wouldn’t be able to resist her again. Standing up, I felt my body slowly crack back into place and the discomfort began to dissipate. There was a knock on my door before it opened and I knew it was Blaze. Never once has he waited for me to say come in and it took years for me to even get him to knock. That’s what I get for making my best friend my Beta. “That wolf you saw last night, I saw him again, but this time he was down river. It’s like he is looking for something.” Blaze tells me and now that we are in the security of my office, I decided its time to tell him what my thoughts are about the elder Alpha. “I think he is searching for th
