Chapter 6

JANE

Home sweet home!

A huge grin made its way across my face as I peered outside of the plane’s window and saw that the plane had safely landed on our home pack airstrips.

"I can tell that you’re overexcited, but I advise you not to even think of jumping out of the window," joked Camille.

"Don’t worry, I am more civilized than those pagan Lycans," I teasingly said to her, poking my tongue at her.

“Jeez, you’re not a kinder pup," she shook her head and mutter.

"Did you say something?" I ask knowingly. "Maybe," she said, shrugging her shoulders.

I jeered "snitch.”

"Bitch," she retorted.

"What are you, a pup?" I tease.

"Says the one who started." I laugh at her while unbuckling my seatbelt.

"Are you ready to leave, ladies?" Uncle Zion inquires.

"I am so prepared."

I stood up and walked towards the door. I waited as it slowly opened up, revealing my beautiful homeland, and the smell was exactly like how I remembered. I run out screaming, "Hello, Moonshine Love! I'm back." Oh well! It's good to be back home.

"Wait until after today. You won't be yelling that, believe me "Camille said from behind me."What’s that supposed to mean?" "Honey, you realized that we are most likely isolated from all packs," chirped Aunt Marissa.

"And?"

"A lot of things have changed," says Camille. "And" I try to irritate her.

"Don't say you won't demand your father to let you go enjoy your freedom after tomorrow," uncle Zion scoffed. True, but I'm not going down without a fight. "Nope. I intend to stay. Home means freedom "I joyfully announced. “Good luck, bitch," Camille laughs beside me.

We all get into different cars. Camille and I rode in a limo, while my aunt, elder Trevor, and uncle Zion arrived in a Jeep.

Camille filled me in on all the gossip and highlighted events from the last few years on my way home, which was quite entertaining. Everything appears to be different, as they claimed. There are flats everywhere, and new businesses are springing up around the once-deserted lands.

The car moved slowly, passing each new building, and as we approached the pack house, I rolled down my window, taking in the breeze and the familiar scent of sandalwood. When the car came to a stop, I saw the familiar gate with a wolf embedded in the middle of the steel. The guards move to our driver's side. They have a brief conversation before one of them walks up to my window and salutes me.

"Welcome home, Luna," he say and my heart fluttering as I hear the word. Even though I am not yet one, it feels surreal. "Have a nice day," I said politely without correcting him as the car moved to enter the gate. I noticed the same blue and violet orchids hanging from the gate wall, but this time there were flowers blooming beautifully in the summer sun.

"Gosh! You're completely right,” I said with a big grin on my face.

"About?" Camille asks as her fingers scroll through her phone.

"Everything... well, it might look similar, but it's extraordinary," I say, resting my chin on the windowsill. A three-story, modern building appeared in the distance.

Finally!

I turn to Camille. "The color has not changed." She turns up and replies, "nope, your father wants to keep it because it was chosen by your highness." She chuckled as I scoffed at her. "Luna is equal to your majesty," she teases, and I roll my eyes while shaking my head. The car came to a halt. I get nervous because I suddenly feel butterflies in my stomach.

I shouldn't be feeling this way because my father is not present. He's currently away on an urgent matter, and our pack hasn't planned a welcome party for the time being, but one will be planned later today. It was my request not to be welcomed now, as I didn’t want to be overwhelmed by so many people, but rather I wanted to be comfortable first before meeting everyone. I took two deep breaths.

"Nervous" Camille smiles at me. "No, I mean, yeah, kind of," I stutter. Gosh, why am I suddenly feeling this way? "It's home, and it’s going to be just fine," Camille said, reaching out her hands and placing them on mine, assuring me. I smile at her and mouth ‘thank you.'

I walked out, my dark glasses now covering my eyes. I admit to trying to appear cool. I mean, I want to look like a shebang. I open my arms wide and take in some fresh air. My gaze scans the entire area. I've been gone from here for what seems like an eternity. When I looked to my left, I noticed the young pups running around on the green field.

I turn back when I hear the boot close and see Camille struggling with my other bags. "Where is our driver?" I inquire.

"Did you bring Lupus High with you, girl? I swear these things are heavy,” she was out of breath when she said this. “Warrior Daniel has gone inside with your other luggage," she explained, wiping sweat from her brow.

"You're a werewolf, not a human," I pointed out. "So, I wasn't made to be a warrior, but a stunning fu*ked-up model," she replied smugly.

I clacked my tongue and shook my head before taking two of my bags from her. I turn to go inside, dragging my bags, when loud voices from the field draw my attention. I quickly turned around to look.

My breath caught in my throat as I noticed something sinful and so alluring to the eyes on the far side of the field. ‘He’s HOT AND ALL MINE’ I scream to myself.

A fine-looking man is training a group of top-tier warriors. My gaze was drawn to him, and I couldn't help but stare shamelessly at his package. His sweat glistened in the sun, and I could run my finger through those sexy abs.

"Oh, I see a stud," I said as I removed my glasses.

"That's your father's beta” answered Camille. I see. "Do you recall Sullivan...? Connor Sullivan?" I try to think, but when the sight of that fifteen-year-old dangly-lean boy who saved my father from the lycan attack pop in my head, I wince. I must retract my statements.

"He’s improved?" Camille laughed at my words.

"You mean grown and hot as f**k," she deadpanned while she shamelessly dragged her gaze from his rip body down to his price below his v cut. She’s not lying though because the guy is so mine, but I am not going to let her win. Unlike me, my friend always says she has good eyes when it comes to men. Ughh. I groan.

"I’ve seen better," I say, winking at her. But the reality is that I only saw one guy’s package, and that was Malcom. Of course, it was an accident.

"If you mean Malcom, I recommend using a magnifying glass the next time. He's nowhere near. Take a look at that." She tries to persuade me.

“Aside from him, have you seen Luca Hernandez?" I try to defend myself.

“Keep telling that to yourself, but our beta is yummy when you unpack his deal," she says, swiping her tongue across her lips. "Gosh, I wish I could taste him," she said in a daydream.

"Ewww... thank you... but next," I shrug.

"Don't forget, you had a crush on him when you were in diapers."

"No, I wasn't," I admitted defensively. It was embarrassing when my nanny reminded me of how I used to cling to him and warn everyone that I was going to mate him.

"Who is that?" I changed the subject and pointed to another shirtless man conversing with the second-tier warriors.

"Oh him. That’s my one-night stand," admitted Camille with no shame. “You’re joking?” “No I’m not,” she reaffirmed. "He’s okay," she said sassily, wriggling her brow.

"Let's say 10—what is he then?" I ask. "Oooh! Someone is not so innocent, I see" she mocks. "Shut up," I snapped back. "I'm not five," I clarified, making her laugh. "But really, what's he then?" I try to be serious, but I always fall short. Camille laughed.

"Egon is a 5... You can scream all you want, but you'll never get ahead of him.” My jaw drops as she winks at me.

Speechless.

No way.

Before I could retort, Camille quickly took my other luggage from me and moved into the house. I chase after her, but that girl moves quickly.

"What's the big deal about that?" I ask, calling after her.

"Everything!" she yelled back, dragging the bag up the stairs.

When they meet halfway, Daniel asks, "Do you need help?" Camille simply ignores him and continues walking. I narrow my eyes and wonder if there is something between those two, and I can smell it.

"Luna, I'll take this to your room," Daniel said, taking the luggage from my hands before I could protest. I let out a long sigh.

"Perhaps now is a good time to take a look around," I mutter as I make my way out of the house. The door opens and Aunt Marissa came inside with uncle Zion trailing behind her.

"Where are you going?" inquires Aunt Marissa.

"Taking a detour," I say as I step outside. "I'll see you.” I wave back at them before closing the door behind me.

I relaxed and exhaled another deep breath after awhile. Walking around was very tiring and the field was the last place I chose to finish my tour. I look around and noticed that everyone's attention was focused on me, except for the first-tier warriors who were still training.

I bit my inside cheeks and stood there cursing my decision to take a detour. I cast a quick glance away from everyone on the field, pondering my next move.

"STOP!" a strong authoritarian voice boomed around the field, forcing me to return my gaze to the field. His first-tier warrior has stopped training, and they are all staring at me. I expected Connor to wave me over because he is the beta, but the bloody bastard ignored me.

I scoff and turn to see Egon and his pals staring at me. Without thinking about it, my legs begin to move in their direction. I ignored Connor and swayed my hips from side to side as I made my way to Egon's group, holding my head high.

I could feel all eyes on the back of my head burning, and I know Connor too is eyeing me but that's what he gets for ignoring me. He can look at me but never touch my fine ass or have a chance to speak with me.
