POV: Lyra (Maya’s wolf)

I had felt him for days. A quiet, steady pull in my chest whenever Lucien was near. It was like hearing a heartbeat that wasn’t mine. A whisper that wanted to be known.

That was Kade — Lucien’s wolf.

Tonight, the pull was too strong to ignore. Even while Maya slept, I could sense him more clearly than ever. Her heart beat softly, steady and calm, while mine raced with something I didn’t understand yet.

I slipped quietly from her dreams into the place between worlds, the space where wolves meet. It was a forest washed in silver light, peaceful and endless, the air glowing gently like moon mist. The ground felt soft under my paws. I took a deep breath. For the first time in years, I felt free.

That was when I saw him.

He stood between the trees, tall and strong, his dark fur glimmering like night soaked in moonlight. His eyes were silver — calm, knowing, kind in a way that startled me.

“So it’s you,” I said softly.

“Lyra,” the way he said my name made the world seem to pause for a moment. “I’ve waited a long time to meet you.”

His voice was deep, smooth, and it didn’t sound like a command. It sounded like a homecoming.

“You’ve been in my thoughts,” I admitted. “Your presence keeps reaching for me.”

Kade took a few slow steps closer, his expression gentle. “The bond between them woke ours. When Maya and Lucien connected, it tied us together too.”

“That explains it,” I said, a small smile tugging at me. “This strange feeling of knowing someone I’ve never seen.”

He smiled a wolf’s smile, but soft. “I know that feeling too. You’ve been quiet, Lyra. Hidden for too long.”

There was no judgment in his tone, only warmth. I looked down at my paws. “For a long time, silence was safer.”

“Safe doesn’t always mean alive,” he murmured. “You deserve to feel alive again.”

His words made my chest ache. “You talk like you understand.”

“I do,” Kade said. “Lucien carries burdens. He hides behind his control. But through the bond, I hear his heart and it beats for her. For you both.”

“Then maybe we understand each other more than I thought,” I said quietly.

He nodded. The silver light around him grew brighter. “We do. You are her courage, Lyra. The part of her that refuses to be broken. I respect that.”

Heat rose in me not passion, just something warmer, gentler, like pride. “And you,” I said, “you hold Lucien steady. You keep the world from shaking too hard.”

He chuckled softly, the sound like distant thunder before rain. “Maybe that’s true. Maybe that’s why the Moon joined our halves, to keep them whole.”

We stood side by side then, not touching, but it felt like we were already connected. I hadn’t realized how much I missed this, being seen, being spoken to without fear.

“You’re not what I expected,” I confessed. “I thought you’d be all power and no heart.”

He tilted his head. *And I thought you’d be all fire and no peace.*

That made me laugh. “Guess we’re both wrong.”

“Or both right,” he said, grinning. “Maybe that’s why we fit.”

The forest shimmered softly as if the moon approved. Somewhere far away, I could feel Maya breathe, and Lucien’s heartbeat answered her. The bond pulsed steady and sure.

Our eyes met again, and Kade’s gaze softened. “We’ll meet again, Lyra. Whenever the Moon allows, or when they need us most.”

“I’ll be waiting,” I said. “And I’ll try to remember what it feels like to be free.”

“You don’t have to try,” he whispered. “You already are.”

Then the light began to fade. The dream melted into morning.

Maya woke, gasping softly. I was still humming with energy inside her, calm and warm. She pressed her fingers over her heart and whispered, “Lyra? What happened?”

“You met him through me,” I told her gently. “His other half. And I met mine.”

She smiled, small and drowsy. “You sound happy.”

“I am,” I said. “We’re not alone anymore.”

Her heartbeat slowed. Outside, the first hint of dawn painted the sky gold. And somewhere deep in the bond, I felt Kade’s quiet voice, a soft echo that made me smile.

“Until next time, sweet damsel.”

“Catch ya later, Big Wolf.”

I could still feel Kade’s warmth. Even though the real world was coming back, the connection between us hummed quietly, like a soft, glowing spark.

Maya woke up slowly, rubbing her eyes. The sunlight peeked in through the window, painting her hair gold. She looked calmer, lighter somehow.

“Lyra… what just happened?” she whispered. “Why did everything feel so… alive?”

I wrapped around her thoughts gently.

“Because we’re all connected, Maya. You and Lucien… me and Kade. We’re finally starting to feel again.”

She hesitated, biting her lip. “Is that… safe?”

Safe. I remembered how I used to hide, thinking staying quiet kept me safe.

“It’s not about being safe anymore,” I told her. “It’s about being real. Being real is never completely safe… but it’s always worth it.”

She paused, her chest rising and falling fast. “You liked him, didn’t you?” she asked softly.

“Yes. More than I thought I would,” I admitted.

“Did he like you?”

I didn’t hesitate. “Yes. He saw me, not just the part that belongs to you.”

She breathed out slowly. “Lucien sees me too,” she said quietly, like saying it made it real.

I felt her heart, strong but still scared. It made something warm grow in me.

“He does,” I said. “Even when he tries to hide it. His walls aren’t as strong as he thinks.”

She laughed softly. “Neither are mine.”

We stood together in quiet, feeling the traces of the night glowing inside us. The bond had changed. It was stronger, steadier.

Then there was a knock at the door. I could feel someone coming strong and steady.

Lucien.

I felt him even before she opened the door. His presence was big, strong, and careful. He looked worried, but under it all, gentle.

Maya opened the door. He was standing there, hair messy, eyes dark but soft when they landed on her.

“You okay?” he asked quietly.

“Yes,” she said, still catching her breath. “Just… a dream.”

He glanced down at her chest, where her heart was racing. “Your wolf?”

“Yes. Yours too,” she whispered.

I stirred inside him, sending a tiny spark of my presence.

Lyra, Kade said quietly, making my fur tingle. I’m here.

Maya pressed her hand to her heart. “Lucien… they met.”

Lucien’s jaw tightened a little, not in anger, but in surprise. “Kade and Lyra?”

“Yes,” she nodded. “They… talked.”

He blinked. “Were they… nice to each other?”

I laughed softly inside her. Your Alpha is adorable, I whispered.

She smiled. “Very.”

Lucien’s shoulders relaxed a little. “Good.”

Then he looked at her, eyes soft and caring.

“Maya, I felt you last night. You were stronger than before.”

Her breath caught. “I felt you too.”

The bond pulsed between us like a heartbeat. Kade pushed forward inside Lucien, just enough for me to feel him.

Until next time, sweet damsel, Kade whispered, only I could hear him.

I felt heat rush through me. You’re trouble, I teased him.

Only the good kind, he replied.

Maya smiled. “Lucien… our wolves are closer than before.”

His eyes softened.

“Maybe it’s time we stop pretending we aren’t.”

Blessed chel

Thank you for stepping into this world with me. I hope you feel the magic and bonds as much as I do when I write them. Remember, every wolf has a story and every flame has a spark also every heart can find it's other half.

Lyra (Maya's Wolf) POVLucien didn’t move at first. He just stood there in the doorway, the morning light stretching around him like soft gold. His dark eyes met Maya’s, and for a second, the world went completely still. I could feel everything. Maya’s heartbeat fluttering fast, Lucien’s pulse steady but heavy like it wanted to hurry up and match hers. Neither of them said a word. Lucien stepped forward. His footsteps were quiet but sure, the floor creaking under his weight. Maya’s hand twitched at her side, like she wasn’t sure if she should reach out or stay still. “You said maybe it’s time we stop pretending,” he said finally, his voice low and rough. Maya swallowed hard. “I did.” His eyes softened as he looked at her. “And what happens if we stop?” Silence. The kind of silence that hums. The kind that makes every heartbeat too loud to hide. The air between them thickened, slow and warm. Lucien’s scent — pine, smoke, and something sharp like lightning filled the ro

Lucien's POVI stood in my office, staring at the map on the wall. Red pins marked where the rogue attacks had happened. All along the southern border. All in the last week."It's coordinated," Grayson, my Beta, said from behind me. "Someone's testing our defenses.""Or looking for something," I replied. My Third-in-Command, Finn, leaned against the desk. "You think this is connected to your new mate?""I don't believe in coincidences." I traced the pattern of attacks with my finger. "Three attacks start the same week I begin visiting other packs looking for her. Then I find her, and suddenly rogues are throwing themselves at our borders like they have a death wish.""Maybe they do," Grayson suggested. "Rogues aren't known for smart decisions.""These ones are organized. They're not just random attacks. They're probing. Testing response times. Counting our warriors." I turned to face them. "Someone sent them.""Who benefits from attacking the Blood Moon?" Finn asked."Lots of packs

Kaiser's voice echoed angrily, his face twisted with rage. "I gave specific orders for you to stay locked in my room!"He grabbed my arm so hard it hurt and reddened instantly. I saw Lucien take another step forward, his eyes fixed on Kaiser's hand on my arm. A low growl rumbled from his chest."Is this woman yours?" Lucien asked Kaiser, his voice deadly calm."She's my property," Kaiser said with a cruel smile. "My future wife.""Your wife?" Lucien's eyes flashed silver. "She's your mate?""No. But she belongs to me by treaty. In four months, she'll be mine officially."Lucien looked at me. Really looked at me.
