ANMELDENAlpha Chester's POV Something happened while I had my eyes closed. I was meditating, breathing in the icy air from the mountains around us and listening to the rustle of the leaves as they moved to the direction of the wind. When I saw her. She was right there in the fields with me, though I had never been here with her. She was wearing her signature colours. Black. She said she loved it even before it reminded her of me. She wore a headband around her straight dyed black hair and in her hand was a gun. I couldn't believe my eyes. She had never come to me all these years. So many times, so many nights, so many days I cried and begged her to at least show herself so I wouldn't lose memory of what she looked like, felt like. Yet she never came. She turned her back once and turned it forever. And yet here she was. Twenty years down the line after I had finally moved on from her and was on my way to finding fulfilment again. “Rave,” she called, her voice deep and cranky. Her voice
Icelyn's POV I couldn't understand my body's reaction to him. It was like it had a mind of its own. There were so many times I literally craved the Alpha like he was my favourite meal. Back at the pack house, I would wake up in the middle of the night and curl on my side, grabbing tight unto a pillow and sometimes even screaming into it just to forget how my entire body was crying for his touch. Just one touch. A slight touch. Heck, just his scent would do me good. He smelled so good, like pineapple. Did he know he smelled like pineapple? Or was I the only one who could smell it. Was I weird?Right now, those cravings I usually had for the Alpha's presence intensified. I couldn't control the way I wanted him to touch me more. To hold me longer. To dip lower than just my neck and collarbones. Some parts of my body were weirdly calling out for him. Would be touch me there? Should I let him touch me there?I groaned and rubbed myself against him as he sucked the space between my collar
Alpha Chester's POV I returned from the woods with fresh kill ready to make some meat broth. Some hot soup would help her feel better and stronger. I was a little scared that she wouldn't wake up until three days later as is her custom. But I was so glad when I returned and saw her talking with the keeper. I took in a deep breath and approached them. “You awoke,” I said and laid my kill over the table. The keeper scurried to take it and clean it up. Icelyn looked at the venison with a wild expression. “What...what...” I looked at the venison and wondered what was making her look so shocked. Then I remember my mate grew up in isolation. Not everyone who even grew up free had the privilege of seeing stuff like that. Except in our worl and that was a very different case as we were taught basic hunting from childhood.Icelyn screamed and jerked as the keeper lifted the kill by its hind limb, its bloody head dangling from the floor. I sped to her side, grabbed her and turned her the
Icelyn's POV The cold wind slapping across my face as Alpha Chester sped through the night with me was exhilarating. I loved it so much I couldn't stop screaming into the night. I held on tight with both my arms and legs wrapped around him and I let myself enjoy the moment. Sure, a few thoughts of reasoning tried to sneak into my mind. What if he's taking you where he's gonna kill you? We were in the woods now and it was quite dense but he managed to dodge every tree, every branch, every rock. Nothing touched me but air. If he was gonna kill me. Then this was a good way to die. I held him tighter and lifted my chin so the air could hit my face better. I laughed with all my soul. This had to be better than a rollercoaster. I didn't even want to try rollercoasters anymore. This was better. He finally slowed and reached a stop. I was breathing so hard and my arms were shaking from all that tight grabbing. He was breathing just as hard as he slowly let me down to my feet. I stagge
Alpha Chester's POV I didn't want my mate to meet the Keeper just yet. I had a feeling she wouldn't feel very comfortable around him since she had a terrible experience with other wolves except Rosa. She only trusted her maid and I didn't want to make her feel unsafe here at the fortress. But the keeper insisted I let him meet the woman I came with. I had never brought a woman to the fortress before so he probably guessed this one was something. “She may need something when you're not around. Or something could come up. And what about trust? She needs to know there's someone else here now so she would not have issues later on about you hiding it from her. That would be strange. Very strange.” I looked over at him. “You speak like you have experience with women, keeper. Are you mated?” Funny, I didn't know much about the keeper's personal life. There was nothing to him except this fortress. Except his last life which I didn't bother digging too deep in. “I once had a family, Alp
Icelyn's POV The same nightmare again. The monster pursuing me with the most terrible ground shaking growls. I was so afraid as I ran until I fell off a cliff. I could see the monster jumped down the cliff with me and opened its jaws to clasp it around me. I screamed as I felt its teeth around me. We fell into a stream and he pulled me under. I struggled to be free but it was useless. The monster brought me to shore, I was bleeding and he was licking my blood. I kicked, I cried, I screamed, I pushed. It was all useless waste of strength. And it wouldn't stop growling and flexing its deathly teeth. I finally gave up. This was how I was going to die. A painful death for a sheltered child such as me. I closed my eyes and tried to not feel the pain of teeth digging into my flesh. That was when I saw the monster transform into a man. His hair was as dark as his fur and so was his eyeballs. I didn't get to see anything else apart from his face before my eyes closed completely. "Icelyn, I
Icelyn’s POV My throat felt extremely heavy by the time I woke up. It was like I drank lava and it had cooled down along my throat. I opened my eyes and looked around the ceiling. An unfamiliar one this time. How many times have I woken up like this since I arrived this place? I was losing count
Icelyn's POVRosa had spent the rest of the day telling me a thousand and one reasons nobody liked Lady Azul in the Pack House. She was bossy, acted like she owned the place, downgrading and too egoistic. She wasn't even 'that' pretty. “From what I've heard, she had her face done in the human worl
Alpha Chester’s POVIcelyn’s big eyes widened then narrowed at me. I could seeshe had an objection to what I said but couldn’t voice it out. She insteadbegan to chew on her lips. “Any comments?” I asked. She exhaled and looked away. Igrabbed her arm gently but she smacked it off with so much fo
Icelyn's POVMy breathing quickened and I grabbed hold of the side of my chest, just above my heart.I looked to the place my mate just disappeared through and almost called for him. It was like he left with the air I breathed because my lungs choked on me, and I began to gasp. My legs shook and I
