Chapter 30

I put on one of my prettiest dresses and get ready to meet Adrian downstairs. He still didn't tell me where he was planning on taking me, but I stayed patient.

I knew he wouldn't hurt me now. It was too soon because he hadn't gotten what he wanted from me yet.

Adrian's eyes lit up as soon as he saw me. "Lindsey! Wow, you look great!" he beamed.

My heart skipped a beat, but I ignored it. I can't let myself be swayed by his behavior. It was all fake! "Thank you. I picked out a new dress for this date. I hope you are planning on taking me somewhere nice, Adrian," I said flirtatiously.

"Of course, I can't wait to show you this beautiful place. Betty told me you like nature," Adrian said.

"Betty told you, huh? You talk to Betty a lot?" I waggled my eyebrows.

Adrian was taken aback a bit by my question, but he recovered quickly.

"Um...not a lot. I don't talk to her that much. I just called her to ask what kinds of things you liked, and she gave me a lesson," he laughed nervously.

Oh,
