Chapter 38: evil plans.-1

Linda Pov:

Two days had passed since my argument with Sofia, and I was still fuming. Letting it slip, that I'm not her mother. I knew I'd fucked up the minute I said that, but that girl really gets me angry. She looks so much like her mother, and it reminds me of the pain I went through when Ben was ready to abandon me for her.

Josh has been angry with me and wouldn't even talk to me. He's completely blocked me, and I can't mind-link. Just when things were getting better between us, Sofia had to screw things up. She's always done that, screwed my life over.

My phone rang, and I knew it was my father, probably calling to get more information. I don't have any information to give him, and he's definitely going to screw up our plans if he doesn't stop with his hunger for power.

Marcos coming into our pack and claiming his daughter is pregnant for Damian seems suspicious and wasn’t part of the plan. I'm going to find out what that old frog is up to.

I was pacing back and forth, trying to figure out how to smooth things over between Josh and I. Josh has always been powerful, and it's not easy to work my powers around him.

My husband walked in, and I could see the anger in his eyes. "What is it?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"Sofia," he said, his voice cold.

I looked at him, and he continued, "I warned you, Linda, not to hurt my daughter. You went to tell her in a very cruel way that you're not her mother. What are were thinking?"

I looked at him with anger . "She needed to know."

“I’m not her mother, and you should have known what this will cause. When you choose to have a child with your mistress.”

Ben's eyes flashed with anger "Rosa was not my mistress, she was my destiny mate, and I lost her because of you."

Ben's voice dropped to a deadly whisper. "The only reason you still have your head attached to your body is because of that key, you have been hiding from me. And the minute I get it, I'm ending you, Linda."

I laughed. "You think I'm afraid of you? You caused me to lose my unborn child."

Ben's expression didn't change. "You had a miscarriage because of your own greed and selfishness. I was ready to offer you everything, but you refused to let me be with my mate, the one I love."

I sneered. "You've taken almost everything I loved away from me, Ben. And I swear, I will never set you free.

Ben's eyes narrowed. "If anything happens to my daughter Sofia, I promise I'll end you sooner rather than later."

I stood tall, my voice firm. "You can't threaten me Ben. I have all the balls in my court, and you'd better not push me. You know exactly what I'm capable of. I'm not just some weak female standing beside you."

Ben's eyes glinted with an evil grit. "Yes, you have all the balls in your court now, Linda. Enjoy it while it lasts. Because the second I get my hands on everything you've used to blackmail and threaten me, I'll kill you myself. That's a promise."

He took a step closer, his voice dripping with venom. "Stay away from my children. Stay away from Sofia and Vanessa. I'm going to build Vanessa back into the woman she's supposed to be, not the evil viper you made her become."

I laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Don't you dare take my daughter from me. He responds by saying, "She's my daughter, and I'll do everything in my power to protect my children from you, power-hungry half-breed."

"You can try, but I'm definitely going to use Vanessa to get all the power I want and deserve."

He looked at me, his gaze piercing. "You know what, Linda? I didn't want to say this, because I didn’t care, but if I find out who you are having an affair with... trust me, I'll enjoy killing that person in front of you. I'll make you watch as I rip his heart out of his chest. Pray to the moon Goddess I don't find out."
