We get to the wing, Cory and Astrid are there standing looking on as the medical team float around the room, both of them are fully wired and filled with tubes “any improvement?” “no, they can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong with them” Astrid walks over to me and for the first time since I’ve known her she looks so vulnerable as she holds onto my shirt “I can’t lose him” she sobs.

I place my arm around her and pat her gently sighing “he’s be okay, he’s a tough one, just pray to the God’s they will hear you” I’m sure she needs comforting so I open my link to her father ‘Alpha Aaron’ it doesn’t take him very long to respond ‘my King, is everything alright?’ ‘I’m sorry to disturb you at this hour but can you come to the pack, I’m at the hospital and Astrid needs your support’

I can feel his alarm through the link ‘she’s okay but she needs her father now more than ever, please come and be discreet, we are in the VIP wing, she will explain when you get here’ ‘I’m on my way’

He cuts the link, Dr. Good joined the team and begins doing some examination of their results and checks them herself.

Alpha Aaron pushes through the door about Twenty minutes later and Astrid looks around me and her eyes water when she sees her Dad, he looks flustered and tired “Daddy!” she let’s go of me and runs to him and he catches his baby girl and hold her in his arms rocking side to side and rubbing her hair “it’s okay sweet pea, Daddy’s here” she cries into his clothing, he’s looking around the room trying to access the situation then looks at me as though asking what’s going on.

Astrid raises her head from in the crook of his neck, then takes his hand and walks him over to Carson, she sniffles and softly speaks “Daddy, this is Carson, h-he's my mate” her lips quiver.

“Oh my sweet girl” he gives her a soft sad smile “you finally found him” “I’m so sorry daddy, I messed up so badly, first with trying to make the King mate me then allowing myself to be taken by another, h-he scented him on me and does not want to be with me because he-he waited daddy, he waited for his mate and I didn’t wait, why am I so stupid?!” she cried out loud.

He takes her out of the room and out into the hall to comfort her, Cory has not said a word all this time but after Astrid left he comes over to me and just barely raised his voice so only I can hear him “what if, what if my mate does the same thing Ty? What if she doesn’t want me because I slept around? What the fk am I gonna do?”

“Well for starters Cory, I did warn you about sticking your dick into everything that moves so this is my moment to say I told you so but that aside, the most you can do is own up to it and be honest about it and try to convince her that you would be faithful to her, right?!”

“Of bloody course I’d be faithful to her Ty, but what if my words aren’t good enough to convince her?” “then by all means use your actions and give no room for doubt and if I were you I’d use this time that she’s resting here to tie up all loose ends, to lessen the chance of it coming back to bite you in the ass”

“Very true, will you stay with her?” “I’ll stick around for a bit longer yes but I need to go get some rest” “okay then I’d stay and go and do it tomorrow” “you can’t expect to sleep here tonight Cory, you have to rest for training tomorrow, I understand you’re worried for your mate but she’s in the best hands here and they will take care of her, both of them”

“Plus there is nothing you can do for her at this point” he sighs “I’ll leave you to have some privacy with her but please don’t stay here overnight, you have to rest okay?” “ I will Ty, I will” “Dr. Good, can I talk to you for a bit outside please, the rest of you can you give Cory and Astrid some privacy with their mates for a bit please” “yes my King"

“Astrid, we’re all coming out to give you and Cory a bit of privacy before we all head out to rest for the night, you can come back and be with him tomorrow but you need to go home and rest okay? Alpha Aaron you’re more than welcome to stay for the night, where do you prefer to be? In Astrids wing or on the Alpha floor?”

“I’ll stay with my daughter my King” “okay, well go on in Astrid” “go on baby girl I’m right here” she sniffles and goes back into the room, I move to a private side of the wing and Dr. Good comes with me, so does Aaron “well, what have you found?”
