I leave her, she takes a seat at the front not too far from my parents. My father casts a look at her then up at me and shakes his head before whispering something to my mom and she whispers back to him and they both at me, I shift uncomfortably in my seat band try to look everywhere else but at them.

Finally music starts playing and Alessias flower dancer comes in doing her dance and Alessias follows after and takes her place by Cory as Beta Female to be, I smell her before I see her.

I ease forward in my seat, it’s impossible to take my eyes off her, the same for everyone else at the ceremony, my mate is Astrids flower dancer “she looks like a fairy” I manage to hear someone say, I cast a quick glimpse at my parents, they look at her smiling proudly and my father casts me a smug look which slaps me in the face.

I swallow hard and refocus on her, she moves so gracefully as though she alone exists in the world and it oblivious to us being here around her, rather than coming to the front she makes her way back to Astrid and walks beside her, escorting her to the stage then twirling her way to the side by Astrid’s family.

She sits and exchanges a few words with Astrids father and one of her brothers and laughs at something her brother says, she sits back and looks towards us on the stage but Astrids brothers’ gaze stays on her too long for my liking, I swallow a growl and focus on the task at hand.

The pre-formalities are done before it’s my turn to step up and do the blood binding ritual “thank you everyone for coming out to witness our joyous occasion, can the Four mates please step forward” they do and we go through the ritual “ladies and gentlemen I introduce you to our Beta Female Alessia and Warrior Female Astrid” cheers erupt all around.

My speech concluded the formal part of the ceremony, now it’s time for the after party and mingling, I step off the stage and was about to head over to Roho when Tatiana accosts me, we get over to where she is with Astrid and the others “congratulations Astrid and Alessia” Astrid looks at her then up at me and sighs “thank you Tatiana” she smiles politely but it doesn’t meet her eyes.

She takes Roho’s hand and was about to pull her away when my mom takes hold of her hand “Roho darling, why don’t you sit with us” she looks at Astrid who smiles releasing her hand “of course Luna Daria” “let’s go then dear” she entwines her hand with hers and leads her away and my father follows behind them.

They all sit together at a table, her, my parents and my siblings, eating and talking to each other while I’m stuck in meaningless conversations with visiting Alphas and Betas and once again this woman would not let me be, but I can’t even be mad at her, it’s all my doing.

When I glance back at my parents table she isn’t there anymore, my eyes search for her and I almost see red when I spot her on the dancefloor with another man, who the fk is he?!

I arrive at the ceremony, looking around for Astrid, it was very unlike her to hang up on me like this and to make it worse she ignored me and did not return any of my calls or texts, I am not sure how I feel about this but I’m sure she can give me some sort of explanation when I see her, I am not here to cause problems for her just want to catch up that’s all.

I brought Simon with me as a Beta, I had to douse him in were wolf musk so he could smell the part. We take our seat at the back of the ceremony as I don’t want to give myself away to Astrid like that, I want to surprise her.

The ceremony starts and the first she wolf walks in after her dancer and I almost lose it “that scent” I crane my neck and witness the most beautiful creature I’ve ever laid eyes on, her scent surrounds me and I almost leave my seat to go to her, just who is she and why does her scent affect me this much.

I sit and take in her dance, she’s like a Goddess, I watch her and she comes back this way and our eyes meet, she smiles at me and throws a flower which I catch and smell, it has her scent mixed in with the flowers scent, then I got an even bigger shock, the second she wolf is Astrid, this is Astrids mating ceremony!

Well no fkin wonder she ended the call so abruptly and hasn’t contacted me, well I guess dinner is out of the window but that’s fine that woman, I must speak with her.

I linger around until it’s time for dancing and use the opportunity to ask her to dance and she accepts, I lead her to the dancefloor and she feels so right, like she fits perfectly into my arms, I lean in and inhale her scent, there is no doubt about it, this scent is the scent I smelled back in my dimension but how? How could she have been there?
