“Please understand my Empress we do not have the kind of senses that Wolves do and in the moment we did not see her when we looked up, there was a ledge where she perched herself and hid and we did not smell her, but back to the situation, she stabbed Harrow and ran through the gate way and dropped Sereya who was unconscious”

“We did not chase after her because we needed to make sure our people are looked after first and now here we are”

Zeenon taps Sephian and whispers something to him “ah yes, I am not sure how true it is but once Sereya gained consciousness she told us that Mali is a Witch, based on what her experience is she is positive that Mali is now a Witch, we think she may have eaten one of their hearts and inherited their power or a Witch passed the power down to her which we know would never happen so it may be the former rather than the latter”

I am in no condition to go hunting for Mali or anyone at this point but I need to get her back, if the Wisp is correct and she has indeed inherited a Witches power, she will do one of two things, seek revenge or go on a witch hunt to get more hearts then seek revenge, either way revenge will be thrown in there some where.

Something dawned on me “we need to go!” “what’s wrong?” “if she’s really gained Witches power then that means she’s able to shape shift and change her appearance! She could be anywhere! We need to spread the word so no one takes in any one new unless they are screened with magical tools!”

“Although I doubt she would be foolish enough to escape but come back here we can never be too sure, I will meet you back at your castle in a bit, I need to check on Adriel and the pup and let them know she’s escaped and to be on the look out for her or anyone they do not recognize”

“Okay your Majesty, we will wait for you at the castle”

I rub my temples, what a disaster “I need to speak to my mate first” I leave my study room and head back to my bedroom where he should be napping still, I push the door quietly and he is indeed resting where I left him, I sit on his lap and his arms snake around me immediately to balance me “I thought you were asleep” “how could I sleep when you’re sending so much rage through the mate bond Roze” “ahh you felt it, sorry” “it’s fine, is everything alright?”

“That’s what I came to talk to you about, I need to go out for a bit, I’d be back, Mali escaped from the Wards Palace, I need to go and see if we can get a lead and alert Adriel as well”

I kiss him lightly “no, stay here, I’ll be quick” “not happening, you’re my mate and you’re carrying my pup, open the portal and let’s go, I need to ensure you’re safe at all times woman” I bite my lips “now is not the time to be emitting this kind of scent Rozaria” “I can’t help it, that was so damn sexy, okay, okay let’s go”

I slide off his lap and quickly open a portal and we step through into Adriels lodging, at least in the yard “Adriel!” I call out, I hear shuffling before he swings the door open and steps out onto the porch followed by his parents carrying the pup.

“I need to tell you something quickly, unfortunately Mali escaped and is on the run, she has found the means of disguising herself so please be careful and on the look out for anyone strange or perhaps someone you know who appears different in some way or the other”

“That sounds like something Witches would do your majesty, you’re not saying what I think you are, are you?”

I give him a small and sad smile and he looks away “how could she do something like that, thank you for letting us know, we will be careful”

I look past him to the pup in his grandmothers arms “bring him, that I may give him my blessing” Adriel takes him from his mother and walks over to me and I look down at him “thankfully he has your likeness Adriel, what have you named him?” “I was thinking Adroe, your majesty”
