Aria's POV

Under the full moon's luminous gaze, I stood in the clearing, my body tense with anticipation. The spot Rio got for me is where I stay to try and unlock my supposed werewolf abilities. I shed my clothes, the cool night air dancing across my skin as I focused on the shift. But despite my efforts – deep breaths, flexed muscles, and strained willpower – nothing happened. Frustration simmered into resignation. "It's obvious I'm not a werewolf," I said aloud, the words a mixture of disappointment and defeat.

Just as I spoke, a voice sliced through the silence. "Are you just figuring that out?" I turned to face the speaker, and Willow's presence electrified the air. Her smirk was a spark of amusement, her eyes gleaming with a knowing light that seemed to see right through me. The moon above seemed to fade into the background as our gazes met, the tension between us palpable.

    West POV The days ticked by at a glacial pace, each one a frustrating reminder that we were no closer to uncovering the secrets of the pack – or finding Hope, Aria's mother.
