Willa's POV
Al's last words made my heart leap so high that I worry it might jump out of my throat.
My world turned colorful again!
I still couldn't carve, but this time it was because I was too excited. In the end, I just curled up in bed with the pillow cramped between my legs, smiling to the wall like a moron.
I was still cheered up the next morning when I made myself a simple breakfast. The sting was gone after the best sleep I got in a very long time, and the idea of sneaking out to the sea suddenly became fun again!
Before I could get out, I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door to Alpha Kirsch, wasn't sure whether I hide my frustration well with my deadpan.
How did he manage to be there every time when I JUST thought about sneaking out?!
"Good morning, Alpha." I bowed a little, "To what do I owe this pleasure?"
He frowned a little.
"I was asked to watch over you." Said Alpha Kirsch reluctantly, dar
Cerise. K :) his nickname has a fun story behind it
Taran's POV I was sitting on the cliff edge, watching the sea. The roaring of the sea soothed the beast residing inside me. The area of the small woods and the coast outside of the pack's border was my nest. I was so enchanted by the view that I didn't even notice the noise from behind me until it got too close. But of all the people, I didn't think it would be my mate. She should be safely inside the pack. But she looked so excited to see me, and that made my heart leap. I had never been happier than the moment when she begged me to not hunt the silver beast. She thought I wasn't totally lost, and that meant the world to me. In my heart rose a hope, a hope too pretty that I didn't dare believe in-- Maybe instead of the delicate dream that I couldn't have, she just might be my redemption? I started missing her the moment she left the beach. I followed her and the red wolf into the woods. I didn't know they were arguing
Willa's POV I dashed into town from the woods near 7. I never knew there were any similar cases like mine before. But he said he was only poisoned after he lost his wolf, which was the exact opposite to my case. I was confused. But more importantly, terrified. He lost his wolf just like me, but he was 26 now. Does that mean that I might also not get my wolf back? Could it be that my poison was actually the same disease he had, and granny only lied to me about my wolf would wake up at 18? Coldness grabbed my heart, but it only got colder when I heard a sneer from behind me. I turned around reluctantly, and I saw Rachel standing in front of me, smirking in her black one-piece with two huge wolves on each of her sides, baring their teeth at me. I didn't notice, swimming in the million questions in my head, but I was actually passing the school, I had an advantage over them when they were in human forms, but not when they a
Kirsch's POV I tried to hide my affection toward Willa, but that was hard from the start, and only became harder after she joined the pack bond. But I guess I did that part pretty well because apparently, Willa hated me. She wouldn't call me by my name no matter how many times I asked; she would only address me as Alpha and was always keeping her sentences to the shortest. To hide her feelings? She couldn't know she was mine. The only feeling she could have for me was hatred. [She hates us.] Rudy muttered, sullen. [Not a surprise, I wasn't exactly friendly to her.] I sighed. Maybe it was for the best. [She even smiles at her enemies.] Rudy pointed out a fact that I didn't want to think about. Willa was like that. She was bright and happy all the time, even to Rachel she never showed despise, as if everything, even dealing with bullies was all fun to her. But not to me. To me, she was closed and cold, like the worst stra
Willa's POV I woke up to a sullen day. It was like Alpha Kirsch shot his face up into the sky to "watch over" me everywhere I go with his frown. I sighed as I walked downstairs. Only after one day, and I already feel like my world was falling apart again. Granny was gone, the Alpha hated me, bullies tried to tear me apart, and I couldn't see Al, who wasn't even mine! "You are up late." I froze on the stairs, staring at the kitchen with my mouth open in shock-- Alpha Kirsch was sitting by the breakfast table, reading an old book, apparently grabbed randomly from our house. "What are you doing here?!" I couldn't seem to use any other tone than a shrill shout. I cleared my throat before I used a calmer tone, "Alpha?" "Pick you up for school." Alpha Kirsch didn't even look up at me. He thought I was going to disobey him again, so he broke into the house to monitor me?! Just after one day and my life
Willa's POV "The cursed wolf!" Someone shouted and I closed my eyes in frustration. Alpha Kirsch left me on the playfield to wait for assemble before he dashed off to his office. There were people gathering already, and I was wandering on the outside of the circle when I heard this shot. I was used to this kind of accusation by now. People assume it just because we were wolfless ones. So long as Alpha Kirsch didn't believe it I would be fine. Just annoyed. I took a deep breath before I turned and headed toward to source of the voice. They froze right where they were, staring at me in horror. "Well, go on?" I shrugged impatiently, "Tell me your curse story then?" It was a little group of three. Obviously, it was the girl in the middle who yelped it because everyone turned to look at her after I asked my question. She looked like she was about to cry. "It's nothing..." She murmured in a shivering voice, as if afra
Willa's POV The teacher for the day was Ethan. We were paired up into "patrol teams". Each team was given a handkerchief either in red or black. The mission was to get two handkerchiefs in both colors. That means half of the teams would lose and also meant that Rachel chose red when she saw me take a black one. The whole game time was 8 hours. Ethan didn't want Scarlett and me to be a pair, one wolfless in a pair was weak enough. But Scarlett didn't want to be apart. Besides, I didn't think anyone else would take care of her. Ethan allowed it at the nod of Alpha Kirsch. The bad news was -- Rachel got to keep both her mates. I didn't know it was because twins were THAT special, or the spoiled little princess was. Of course, she thought my black handkerchief was to be hers. As if Ethan knew Rachel was going to hunt me down, he sent the black teams out first -- prey went first. We were given a 30-minute firsthand to spread
Taran's POV Willa didn't come. It used to calm Cerberus when we sit at the edge of the cliff, watching the sea. But not today. He was agitated all morning, pacing around in my mind, waiting for Willa. It was driving me crazy. [Willa!] Cerberus grunted to me, again. It was like the hundredth time today. [We can't go into town.] I mumbled, looking at the sea. I lied. It was risky to go into town, sure. But I still could. I didn't want to because I was afraid to find Willa living happily with her new friends. I didn't want to confirm that she lied to us and CHOSE not to come. I would rather wait with hope...and not find out. But that hope was gouged away as time passed by, bit by bit. [You went before.] Cerberus grunted discontentedly. [The other day was a necessary risk.] I answered, feeling guilty. There was no difference between today and the other day. I was just being a coward. Cerberus snorted frustra
Taran's POV Willa jumped in a startle, but then she grinned brightly, and that one single smile lit up my world. "Al! What are you doing here?!" Willa smiled with a happily surprised shout, and the anxiety and worry and nervousness I had all day suddenly seemed so stupid. "Got bored waiting, so I came to watch a splendid fight." I shrugged. Cerberus suddenly calmed down. "Sorry!" Willa clasped her hands together with begging eyes, "I swear I was just about to sneak out to the cliff! I was forced into the patrol training by the Alpha! Somehow he knew about me leaving the pack and caged me today..." Kirsch wouldn't be so nervous about Willa knowing about me once I claim her mine. "You don't have to be sorry!" I laughed at her begging eyes, feeling as if even the air smelled sweet, "I know you wanted to come." [Liar.] Cerberus grunted, rolling his eyes. I ignored him. "I had never met any wolfless fights like you, not even
