Her hands claw weakly at mine as her body trembles. “Don't worry… you will be fine… shortly.” Instantly, I twist her neck, she goes limp and I lower her to the floor. My hands tremble as I strip her uniform off quickly, forcing my shaking fingers to cooperate. I change just as fast, pulling the dress over my body, adjusting it until it fits well enough. The bonnet goes on last, hiding most of my hair. I drag the duvet off the bed and cover her nudity, that's the least I can do for her. I move to the door, grabbing the key from the handle. My fingers hesitate only briefly before I step out and lock it behind me. Lowering my head, I take a deep breath and begin moving. My feet carry me down the hallway, I don’t even know where I’m going. I can only hope it leads me to an exit. My steps quicken slightly and immediately, I slam into someone. I lift my gaze and see Alpha Evander. My heart drops instantly. “I’m so sorry… Alpha,” I say quickly, tightening my voice, hoping he doesn't recognise it. I lower my gaze as I bow my head, remaining still. All he has to do is walk past me and this will all be over. Yet, he is still standing before me. Well, if he is not going to move then I will. I try to move past him but he grabs my hand, dragging me back. My breath catches, my body spinning slightly from the force. “Are you really trying to escape this? After all that was done to bring you here.” His grip tightens just enough to make me wince. My stomach drops. But I lift my face to him. “Am I supposed to be willing to die for your people?” He drags me forward, to wherever he is heading to. I try to extract myself from his grip but all to no avail. “Let me go!!” I yell, hitting his back. He opens a door and shoves me inside. I stumble inside, steadying myself as I glance around. The room is unmistakably large. This is no doubt his bed chambers. I stiffen at the realization while he locks the door behind him. “I had a deal with your parents,” he says, stepping forward. “You should honour that deal.” I let out a humourless breath. “You speak of honour,” I shoot back, my chest rising and falling, “yet you lock the door?” He starts walking toward me. Panic rushes over me as I drag my feet backwards until my calves hit the edge of the bed, making me fall on it. My hand grabs the nearest pillow and I yank it up, holding it in front of me like it could actually protect me. “We are not married yet….Remember.” I say quickly. He stops right before the bed, his legs slightly brushing against mine, my heart beating so fast. “I am keeping an eye on you personally,” he says, taking a step back, “till tomorrow morning.” I push myself up into a sitting position,“Are you sure the wedding should even happen tomorrow?” I ask, staring at him and hoping I sound convincing. “I don’t even have a wedding dress.” His gaze lingers on me for a second longer before he turns away, walking toward a study. “My sister will get you one,” he says dismissively. “You’re the same size.” I exhale slowly. “Well,” I add, tilting my head slightly, “my nails need to be done.” He pauses just slightly like I actually have a chance to reason with him. “I’m not going to be remembered as a tattered bribe.” He turns his head, “I’m not letting you out of my sight….Miss Kenna.” My jaw tightens, my fist clenching beside me. Hearing him call me that name kind of reminds me of how I even go to this mess. He takes a seat behind the desk, pulling out some papers from the drawer. A knock cuts through the tension in the room. Quickly, I stand to my feet, smoothing down the hem of the maid’s uniform. “Come in.” he says, not looking up. The door opens and Derek steps in, his eyes landing on me and lingering for a while, his brows furrowing, as he walks to Evander. He bows his head.“A reply from Raze Duskbane.” he says, extending a sealed envelope to Evander. I feel a jolt pass through me. Raze has already moved on without me, even making political deals with other Alphas. That shameless man whore! Evander snatches the envelope from Derek, opening it hurriedly. His eyes scans the content for a while and his jaw tightens. With no hesitation, he crumples the paper in his hand. “How dare he presume he can command me!” he snarls, throwing the rumpled paper to the floor. Derek straightens slightly. “He is going to be Alpha soon… We really need him.” Alpha? The Alpha transfer ritual won't even work as far as I am alive. “No doubt.” he replies then looks at me. “I can actually excuse you both,” I say calmly, folding my arms slightly. “To discuss whatever you want to discuss.” That was clearly a lie. I really want to know what deal he has with my husband. Derek’s head snaps toward me, clearly taken aback by my voice. Evander on the hand, ignores me completely. “Get me a new suit,” he says to Derek. “I should at least make this wedding look like it is a real wedding.” “Is it not a real wedding?” I ask, my voice edged. “It is a real wedding, young lady,” Derek says firmly. “You will be Luna as requested… and the ritual will happen three days after the wedding.” “Well… I think you need someone to update you on the real matter at hand now.” I say, adjusting my bonnet. “But the conclusion is… I’m not going to die in three days’ time.” Derek’s expression tightens as he turns to Evander. “Alpha… are you really going to let her live longer than she should when thirty pack members remain cursed and unconscious?”Seraphina His mouth latches onto me fully, sucking gently at first, then with more hunger, his tongue flicking and circling that swollen, sensitive bud. I can’t stop the sounds spilling from me, moans, whimpers, broken pleas that don’t even sound like my voice anymore. The wet heat of his tongue, the gentle scrape of his teeth, the way he groans against my flesh as if he’s savoring me… it’s too much.My hips buck against his face shamelessly, chasing more, needing more.Pleasure coils tighter and tighter inside me, my fingers fisting tighter in his hair, pulling him closer as my back arches off the wall. “Evander…oh Goddess, please… don't stop.” The words dissolve into a cry as he sucks harder, his tongue working faster. The orgasm rips through me even more violently than the first, tearing a loud, shuddering moan from my throat. My whole body convulses, waves of ecstasy crashing over me again and again until I’m trembling, gasping, nearly sobbing from the intensity.Gosh!! I am
Seraphina A trembling breath escapes me instantly, my body stupidly reacting in ways I never knew about, my hips twitching slightly toward his touch. This feels nothing like before. No man has ever touched me this way before. Not even my actual husband, Raze.Evander watches my face carefully as his fingers move again and another helpless sound slips from my throat, heat flooding between my legs embarrassingly fast. His thumb brushes gently against a sensitive spot and my entire body jerks. I grab his wrist to be certain he doesn't pull his hand away. His breathing roughens slightly, then suddenly he pulls his hand away completely, despite my grip.I stare at him in shock. “Why did you stop?”He takes a deep breath. “Just lie down and open your legs. I’ll fuck you and let my wolf reach yours.”Disappointment hits me so fast it surprises even me. “But…” I hesitate. “I liked what you were doing.”The silence afterward is deafening. I immediately realize what I just admitted and my face
Seraphina I should make up my mind right now. The only way to be strong enough to get out of here and go back home is by healing my wolf and the faster means of healing my wolf is bonding with another alpha.Despite my decision, my fingers tremble slightly against the silk belt of my nightrobe as I stand frozen near the edge of this massive bedroom. The room is dim except for the golden lamp near the bed, casting shadows against the dark walls. My throat tightens as I watch him, standing near his wardrobe wearing nothing but a black robe loosely tied around his waist, exposing part of his chest every time he moves. My eyes betray me instantly, drifting there again. Goddess! His chest is broad and so firm and the hairs in there kinda makes something strange flutter low inside my stomach.I don't know but this is strange. I shouldn't be feeling this way towards a man I barely know. Damn it! Why am I even still staring at his chest hair?I quickly look away, only for my gaze to drift r
Seraphina I stand still, my spine straight, my hands tightening slightly around the folds of my gown. I don't know what to do, should I run?I take a deep breath as she approaches, her heels clicking softly against the polished floor. Her gaze drifts over me then she halts, staring at my face through the veil. Her hand lifts to touch my veil. Instinctively, I catch her wrist before her fingers can brush the fabric. For a moment, neither of us moves. Then I lift my chin slightly, meeting her gaze through the thin veil that separates us.She stares directly into my eyes, my heart pounding. Her lips curve. “You must be a fool to think I do not know that you are not my daughter.”The words hit like a blade. So she is aware all along, I'm guessing the father is as well. They both know their daughter is safe and won't die, they probably also know where she is. With my husband! My grip loosens instantly, letting go of her hand as I step back, still in shock.“Don’t ruin this for us,” she co
Seraphina Instantly, the man beside the door steps forward, offering his arm.If he is really Kenna's father, would he not notice that I'm not her?I have to keep my face hidden beneath this veil, not letting him get a glimpse of my face. I'm guessing the Cindersteel Creed didn't think this part through or were they expecting that I also pretend in front of her parents?Damn it!The moment I heal and get my wolf, I'm getting out of this cruel predicament.I place my hand in his and we begin to walk, the door opening wider. The entire hall rises. I mean the ten invited guests. To my surprise, they pull out their cameras and begin taking shots. They weren't even guests, they were media personalities, to spread the word that Kenna Starclaw is marrying Alpha Evander! My heart begins beating fast. Raze must not know that I'm one replacing Kenna. He mustn't know that I survived.Quickly, I face the floor as we move forward. The man says nothing to me which is quite surprising. Does he have
Seraphina My silk wedding dress cascades down my body, hugging every curve of mine. My hair falls in soft waves over my shoulders, my veil pinned just enough to look effortlessly bridal. It's my wedding day again.“Hold still, my lady,” the same maid I had attacked yesterday murmurs behind me, her fingers tugging the corset tighter.I can't pinpoint exactly why Ann had to send her in particular.Regardless, my gaze is locked on the mirror. I keep staring at my reddened lips, it is the same colour of lipstick I had chosen on my last wedding.Quite the irony. I thought it was going to be the best day of my life. I was so happy to marry Raze. I still remember how I kept smiling, glancing at him to smile back but he never did. Now, barely ten days later, I am here, putting on a wedding dress again. All to marry a total stranger and die afterwards, if I must add.A shaky breath escapes me as she pulls the laces again, the sudden pressure dragging me out of my thoughts.“Done,” she says s
