Chapter 06

Audrey:

I took two steps backwards, one more, until I was unable to take another. I could feel my chest slowly burning up. The gory scenes began playing in my head again and I immediately yelled out in pain while holding my head tight.

"Please, stop!" I begged.

Her painful screams stopped and I immediately opened my eyes again. I raised my head to stare at the alpha, but he still had a calm look on his face.

"Leave." He commanded her. 

Still frightened, she scurried out of the field like a Hyena who was running away from an even deadlier creature. I stared at her till she was gone.

My gaze shifted back to him, and my hands began shaking immediately. I wanted to take steps away from him as he took his closer to me, but I was scared of doing so.

I was scared of the fact that he might do the same to me. I was scared that he might torture me mentally, like he did to her. What kind of an alpha was he.

I suddenly recalled mother had told me there were different kinds of alphas.

She knew all of these from her mother as well. Since my father never loved my mother and always cheated on her with different ladies, I knew that their mate bond was slowly becoming weaker.

If it doesn't kill her, it would make her weaker.

He was a lycan. Mother called it, a wolf lord.

But why? I was curious to know why the moon goddess had to bestow such powers to a man like Alpha Zale Valentino. He was ruthless, brutal, and proud as well. He deserves nothing of what he has right now.

My heart kept beating faster until he was just an inch away from me.

"If it keeps beating so fast, you just might pass out." He warned.

I swallowed a lump of saliva, staring at him. I touched my chest, rubbing it slowly in order to control my heartbeat. I thought I didn't need to be scared of him, but then he held my chin with his strong hands.

Even with the cloth he was putting on, the tattoo around his arms was still visible. He was not only handsome, but well built, and tall. He was looking more like a panther ready to devour me.

I was suddenly scared he would ask me to take off my clothes again, but I remained still at my position waiting for him to say a word.

"You're mine. I bought you, and I own you."

His eyes went to the mark on my neck, his mark and he traced his fingers around it.

We were both interrupted by a loud and deep voice that called his attention from behind.

"Alpha."

He turned back to stare at him.

The man looked strong and fit as well, with tattoos around his arms. He had broad shoulders, long legs as well and a well fitted body any lady would easily drool over.

Our eyes met each other as he took steps closer to me and the alpha. I immediately took my gaze away, and pinned my eyes to the floor.

"Alpha Phillip and Alpha Leo are here to see you." 

Alpha Leo? I asked myself within, letting out a smile. He was the famous alpha that every lady dreams to be mated to, and honestly, I wasn't left out of dreaming about him.

Only my late mother knew of my wish and desires for him, and everyday, I always prayed to the moon goddess to mate me to him. I always wanted to bear his mark, and live the right of my life being called his Luna.

When he saw the smile on my face at the mention of alpha Leo's name, he sneered deeply.

My smile immediately faded, and was replaced with a frown instead. I felt so unlucky and cursed. I was with him while my sister got to choose her mate, or wait for her fated mate.

"Flynn." He called the man who was still standing behind him.

I took my gaze away, pinning it to the floor.

"Take my slave in, and lock her up till I arrive." He instructed.

I immediately raised my head to stare at him with a shocked expression on my face. I could see rage in his eyes as he walked away and I was left thinking what my offence was.

"You shouldn't have smiled." The other man said to me when Alpha Valentino was gone.

"Why? Was I wrong?"

"He hates him. The man who was the reason for your smile." He said.

He leaned closer and saw the mark on my neck.

"He hears your innermost thoughts and desires. Be careful next time." 

I nearly gasped out loud when I heard those words. How was that even possible? Alpha Valentino had heard my innermost thoughts?

"Follow me." He instructed.

My hands and legs were still trembling, and I was finding it hard to speak. There was no possible way of an escape, not when it's Alpha Valentino.

There was a rumor that he had killed a slave of his in a cold-blooded manner when she tried to escape from him, and also that he had slit the throat of another when he figured out she was a spy and she had poisoned him.

What was my fate going to be?

I thought of running away, but what if luck isn't on my side.

The last thing I heard before I shivered in fright was the loud bolting of the door when I walked in. I was left in the dark where I had no one by my side.

I was scared. I needed to escape from all of these torments which my father had made me go through.

"I really didn't kill my mother. Please hear my voice and help me." I cried out, my voice nearly above a whisper.

The moon goddess never listens to me. For years I prayed to her, begging to know what fate she had prepared for me, and what plans she had for me.

Those times I badly wanted to escape from the torture of my father and Raquel, she never listened to me. But then, she became even more cruel when she mated me to the man who was every lady's nightmare.

I huddled myself in the cold and empty room, patiently awaiting what would happen to me next.

Since the moon goddess always forsakes me, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I would escape, and run away from Alpha Valentino. I didn't care about the mark any longer, but all I wanted was freedom from my fated mate.
