My goodness!

I stared up to see the 'King' standing at the doorway, apparently, he was the one that had flung the iron chain to hit this man who was trying to help me.

"What did you do that for? He was helping me." I yelled, standing up to my feet as I cradled over the guard. He was bleeding from his head while lying motionless.

"Personal choice." He answered straightforwardly, gesturing towards me to come forward but I remained rooted on the spot where I was.

"Well, aren't you going to do something? He's going to die if you leave him like this." I yelled as I tried to elevate his head though I wasn't sure that was going to be very helpful either. The blood could flow in the opposite direction and if blood clotted in his brain, he's better off dead.

"Do I look like a knight in shining armour? More or less, one that wants to save him. Keep your legs moving, fall into step with me." He turned around and began walking down the hallway while I stood there, lantern in hand,
