“Lady Aurora Felta of the First Clan can not light the testing stone and is, therefore, wolfless,” the MC loud voice boomed loud in my ears, resounding deep into my soul.
I can hear the distant gasp and murmuring of the surrounding crowd. It is a testament to what was unfolding before my eyes. I stared in shock at the testing stone, which is as cold as the deepest part of hades.
The truth stared at me.
I am wolfless.
The testing stone is supposed to tell me if I have a wolf and the strength of my wolf, but there was no reaction. Which means only one thing.
“Silence!” Prince 's julian voice boomed in a commanding order. The hall descended in pin drop silence.
I breathed a sigh of relief. My knight in shining armor is here.
"From now on, Aurora ceases to be my mate. Seraphina is hereby my rightful mate and will be crowned the Luna in waiting,"Julian declared coldly, glaring at me as if I were his worst enemy.
My Brain blacked out for a moment. Unable to process what had just happened. My boyfriend since childhood had just rejected me as his mate. His cold words pierced my heart like a hot knife through butter, the pain almost unbearable. I could still hear his cold voice echoing again and again inside my head.
Why is the pain becoming unbearable, why cant i breath. I felt it searing inside me, shattering my heart like jared glass.
“Seraphina, daughter of Cornelius Felta, accept the rejection or die."
The pain is unbearable this time. Times two of before. The murmured echoes of the crowd fade as I try to endure the excruciating pain.
When I had thought that he had my back, that he would save me from my predicaments. Julian was breaking up with me. And not just breaking up with me, he was rejecting me as his mate, my world was shattering before me. But why is my best friend Seraphina clinging onto my now ex-sweetheart like gum? A triumphant smile plastering her face.
The hall was as silent as a graveyard after the prince’s declaration. Today was supposed to be a day of celebration. It's the king's ball, the day Prince lucent would declare his love for me. But what is happening came as a shock to me. My mind was in shock, unable to process anything coherent. I just stood there, observing the chaos unfolding around me like a soulless ghost.
“What is the meaning of this?!” My father’s roar echoed throughout the silent hall, jolting everyone back to life.
“Lord Cornelius, how dare you point your sword at the royal family!” Seraphina’s, my best friend's father, Lord Augustine, bellowed from his seat.
“Shut up, you fool! Come to me and speak that rubbish, and I’ll have your tongue!” My father lashed out at the lord of the Second House, Seraphina’s father. “I demand an explanation for this atrocity, my king!”
“No need for the king to answer, Cornelius. There is no explanation to be given. Your useless daughter is trash. Can’t you see it? She can’t even light up the lowest light in the testing stone. She’s a disgrace, a good-for-nothing, a decorated doll for your house to admire,” Prince Lucent retorted, showing no respect for my father or his position.
My already shattered heart couldn’t bear to hear any more. Hot tears began streaming down my face as I weakly walked on, trembling legs to face Seraphina, who was holding the hand of the man I once loved.
“Why…?” It was the only word I could manage, the only thing my exhausted mind could process amidst the torment and piercing pain in my heart.
“Aurora, open your eyes. Prince Lucent has never loved you. It was out of duty that he, the strongest in Pine city, will date the girl from the strongest clan,he courted you out of duty not to love Rory, but who would have known that you can't even light up the lowest colour” she laughed evilly.
“I’ve always been his true love,” Seraphina said, smiling at me from where she sat. “I’m sorry as a friend, but this is how it was meant to be. As your best friend, I hope you can understand my plight and be happy for me”
“Unbelievable… you’re a demon…” My father couldn’t take it any longer. “If I don’t have your tongue, I am not Lord Cornelius of the First Family of Pine City!” he declared, rising from his seat as the aura of an Alpha wolf descended upon Seraphina and the entire hall.
“Enough!” The king’s voice washed over the room, dissipating my father’s aura. “I won’t decide who my son chooses to marry. He made the right choice. Lord Cornelius, for your unbefitting actions this night, you are hereby stripped of your rights as the king’s right hand, and Augustin is to be offered the position”
“Thank you, my king, my clan is honored to serve the royal family diligently,” Seraphinas father bowed, smiling at my father, who was already seething in rage.
My tears spilled faster, blinding my vision. The shock threatened to overwhelm me as I stood trembling, refusing to give them the satisfaction of watching me fall. I could feel the taunting eyes of everyone in the hall and hear the murmurs spreading through the crowd.
“She is cursed!” someone shouted.
“She’s an abomination who can’t even light the lowest level of the potential stone!”
“We can’t have a wolfless wolf as the Luna! Hail Prince Lucent for having sharp eyes!” another voice sneered.
I closed my eyes, trying to block out the venomous words. My gaze fixed Prince Lucent, memorising every feature, how his mouth curved into a cruel smile as he listened to the vile things being said about me. “Do you accept it or not?” he asked again, his tone devoid of any warmth.
I wished for the ground to open and swallow me. Summoning what little strength I had left, I looked him in the eyes and then at Seraphina, who clung to him like she could not breathe without him.
“I accept your rejection,” I declared, embracing the searing pain that ripped through me. When I could no longer bear it, I passed out. The last thing I saw was my mother running toward me before everything went dark.
***********
I awoke to the sound of an argument, a dull pain throbbing in my head. As I focused, I could make out my father’s and mother’s voices, speaking in hushed tones. Remembering the events that took place brought back tears, I didn’t know I had left, as I had cried myself dry since that day.
I got out of bed and noticed the untouched food beside me. I sigh at the sight. I hadn’t eaten since my mother brought it. Following the voices downstairs, I saw my father fresh from the meeting, arguing with my mother about something.
“It’s the best thing for her, Caroline,” he said in a low tone.
“No, love, we can’t abandon our only child when others have already done so. I need to be here for her,” my mother argued back.
“I know, but this is the only way for her. Darling, she hasn’t eaten in days, only holed up in her room. She needs a change.”
“What changed?” I asked, cutting into their discussion.
“Oh, sunshine, you’re awake!” my mother exclaimed with joy.
“What changed, Mama? Don’t lie to me, I heard everything,” I repeated.
My mother stood motionless, unsure of what to say. “Sunshine, I can explain. Your father and I have been thinking over the past few days, and we believe it would be best if…”
“If what?” I shouted.
“Aurora,” my father began, his eyes everywhere but my face. “your mother and I think it would be best if…”
“If what, Papa?” I asked, my eyes darting to my mother, who was already in tears.
“If you are sent to live with your aunt in Greenfall, sunshine, for the time being until…”
I didn’t let him finish. I couldn’t bear to hear another reminder that this was real, that I was considered trash, and even my parents wanted to bundle me away. I ran to my room, shutting out the world that had suddenly turned so cold.
AuroraMy mind exploded with stars. The warmest feeling has ever felt enveloped me, together with his dark alluring lips. The kiss was sensual and soft. The hunger was there, but it was soft. And I liked it. I yearned for it. despite the warning bells ringing in my head to stop and call for help.Instead, I opened my mouth after he nicked at my lips, allowing him full entry. “Hmmm” a growl tore through his throat, sending a delicious shiver down my spine, as I kissed him back with fervor.Every nerve in my body lit up. every inch of skin burned, following his trail. It was like he was marking every inch of my body, claiming it.And I liked it. Much more than I could admit. My mind kept on screaming that this was wrong, that I should pull away, but my body… betrayed me. Reacting to his feverish and demanding touches, in a way I have ever felt before. An unconscious gasp escaped my lips, The handsome devil stopped immediately, making me look up at his red eyes that had turned into a d
Aurora “Aurora!”I turned at the sound of Anna’s voice, relief washing over me like a tidal wave.Eden’s pressure vanished the moment Anna approached, like it had never been there at all. His eyes flicked toward her, then back to me, still sharp, still watching, but no longer pressing. He stepped away, his usual cool composure slipping back into place. “I’ll leave you two. See you around.”And just like that, he vanished down the path, not waiting for a reply.Anna turned to me, eyeing me carefully. “You look… off. What happened?”I hesitated. “Nothing. Just tired, that’s all.”But even as I said it, I knew I was lying…to her and to myself.Something was happening.“You mean you having a staring contest with the hottest guy in school in the middle of an empty parking lot was nothing” she raised an eyebrow while peering at me.I was speechless. No way was I telling her that the truth, it might sound weird, but I was still trying to know what was happening to me. Not. The strange voice
Aurora’s POV The rest of the training session flew past without me knowing. Well, apart from me looking like a fool while staring at Eden's glorious backside.I sighed, using the towel to dry my wet hair.Steam clung to my skin as I stepped out of the bath, wrapping the towel tightly around my body. My muscles ached from the intense training session with Eden, but my mind was far too restless to care. Eden. The mystery surrounding him. His movements, his power, there was something unsettling yet captivating about him. Like he was not coming completely clean with me. But who am I to judge? I was also keeping a secret from all the people of Green Falls. and I plan for it to remain that way. So, really, everyone has one or two secrets to keep.Still lost in thought, I reached for the door handle to the school bathroom. The moment I stepped out, a sudden force yanked me backward. My towel nearly slipped as I stumbled, my bare feet scratching at the floor with a sickening sound.I gasped
Aurora povHow could I have been so careless? In all the things he has been saying, red rank is not the ultimate. During one of our classes, Lord Fletcher, my teacher, had told us that there was a rank after red. The legendary rank that only comes out once in a thousand talented werewolves. The blue color.According to him, it is only seen as a myth and fairy tales, with no official record of a blue rank. but surely the rankings didn't just end in red. That was why I had unconsciously reacted following his blunderEden’s brow furrowed. "What?"I swallowed, my heart pounding against my ribs. My tongue had moved faster than my mind, and now I was caught."There’s no rank above Red," Eden said slowly, studying me with newfound curiosity.I forced a shrug, gripping the wooden staff tighter in my hands. "I must have misspoken," I lied. "Forget it."Eden didn’t look convinced. His easy going smirk had faded, replaced by something far more intense. "Misspoken?" he echoed, tilting his head.
Aurora’s povThe instructor raised a brow as if he were shocked. “You’ll train her?”Eden nodded. “Yeah. It’ll save time, and I can make sure she learns the basics properly. At least that's the least i could do for coming late.”The instructor studied him for a long moment, then looked back at me like I was stealing his property. I held my breath. Finally, he exhaled, crossing his arms. “Fine. But I expect progress. If she holds you back from training yourself, then I am definitely…”Eden grinned, not allowing the instructor to finish what he was saying. “Deal.”Just like that, I was thrown into the deep end. My faith was being decided in front of me. And I can do nothing about it.I had no idea what I was getting myself into. But one thing was certain. this wasn’t just some school. We got ready. Well, Eden did most of the work while I continued to mop at the training students who were so focused and determined not to even joke around. But when I decided that I had had my fill, a shar

I was so occupied that I didn't notice when my surroundings suddenly became quiet.I had to look up to see pairs of eyes staring back at me. I wasn’t expecting the teacher to single me out, but of course, she did.“I asked you a question, Miss Aurora” The teacher who looked like she could swallow a frog perred at me through her glasses, her disgust so visible. few snickers rippled through the classroom. I kept my face blank, gripping my pen tightly, but I could feel the heat of their gazes. I was already a target.“I…I you…” At that moment, the bell rang, signaling he end of her class and saving me from a deadly disaster.I sank into my seat. I couldn't stop the wave of gratitude.
