Aurora pov
The moment I stepped foot into Green Falls town, it felt like I had stepped foot in hell. an unexplained chill settled over me that no amount of sunshine could chase away.
The beautiful surrounding of big lush green shrubs and grass was replaced by thorns and dried up withered plants. The clean and breathtaking view I had seen at the outskirts greenfall was gone, replaced by a village that seemed forgotten by time. The walls of the surrounding houses were cracked, the grases in the pathway were devoid of life and the air hung heavy with despair.
I tugged my cloak tighter around me as Anna walked beside me, clutching the basket of supplies we intended to purchase. We were at the town square, where markets and business buildings were located. The people all had a “don't ask me question” expression. I noticed they minded their business, walking to their various destinations, but I could feel a tension in the air, no matter how small it is, like a shadow falling on all the people of greefalls.
Still, as we approached the local store, I couldn’t ignore the weight of the villagers’ stares. Their eyes tracked me with a mix of suspicion and hostility, their whispers buzzing just below the surface.
“Do you feel that?” I asked Anna in a hushed tone.
She nodded, her grip tightening on the basket. “It’s not just because we’re new,” she murmured.
“It's almost like they are afraid of something, or someone.”
I noticed, the people all have nervous expressions and one thing I observed was the colour pins on their clothes. Every villager wore a small, color-coded pin. I noticed the ranking system of the werewolves. Back in Pine City, there is green, blue, and red. Which signifies the strength of one's wolf. Green is the lowest while red is the highest.
“My life here will be miserable,” I muttered bitterly to myself, dreading my stay in green falls.
After we came inside with the list of supplies that aunty Jenna had listed. We went over to the counter.
A sharp voice filled with disdain welcomed us as we reached the counter.
“State your business.”
A Plump woman spotting a green pin and with sharp eyes and an even sharper tongue glared at us. She didn’t bother hiding her disdain, and was impatient like she couldn’t wait to get rid of us. tossing our items onto the counter with deliberate carelessness.
I bit back a retort, forcing myself to remain calm. “Just purchasing supplies,” I said, flashing a fake smile.
Her lips curled into a sneer. “We don’t need outsiders stirring up trouble here, especially those that can't defend themselves.”
I clenched my fists at my sides, anger bubbling beneath the surface. She had just pointed out that we were weak.
“We need supplies. Just the essentials.” Anna stepped forward, her voice calm.
The woman snorted but began gathering our requested items, slamming them onto the counter with unnecessary force.
“Can you believe her?” I fumed, my boots clicking against the pavements as we walked away from the shop. “She treated us like criminals just for being new.”
Anna sighed, her expression weary. “It’s best not to draw attention to ourselves, Aurora. This place… it’s not like anywhere else.”
my frustration bubbled to the surface. “What is wrong with this godforsaken place?” I demanded. “It’s like everyone here is hiding something.”
Anna didn’t answer, her focus on the cobblestones ahead, like she was wrapped in thought. I was so wrapped up in my anger that I didn’t see him until it was too late.
I collided with something hard, or someone with a solid chest, the force knocking the basket from my hands. Supplies scattered everywhere, and before I could steady myself, I fell to the ground, the contents spilling all over me.
“Oh, for heaven’s sake!” I snapped, my eyes widened in horror, watching my mothers old clothes stain with cooking ingredients. brushing flour off my clothes I looked up.
And then I froze. What I wanted to say got stuck in my throat.
The most handsome guy I have ever laid eyes on loomed above me. With disgust on his perfectly carved face. He was standing over me, tall and imposing, with skin as dark as midnight and electric blue eyes that seemed to pierce straight through me. His tousled black hair fell over his forehead in effortless disarray, and his smirk,a lazy, infuriating curve of his lips, only added to his intimidating presence.
For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. Lost in my dirty fantasy.
“Watch where you’re going, you weak slut,” he said coldly, his deep voice sending a shiver down my spine.
I blinked, whatever spell i was under disappearing as fast as it came. Sl*t, weak?,
“You ran into me,” I retorted, my anger building up as I scrambled to my feet. “And you’re not even going to apologize?”
He raised an eyebrow, as if he was shocked, but it disappeared immediately, being replaced by anger . “do you know who you are talking to?”
His tone was as sharp as his jawline, and he looked at me with disgust. it sent a spark of anger through me. “You are a rude jerk who needs to learn some manners. ”
The handsome stranger was enraged this time, but I was not having it. It looked like he wanted to say something, but was interrupted by another voice.
“Vincent, that’s enough.”
I turned toward the sound, and my breath hitched again.
Why are all the handsome men located in a backwater town like Greenfall?.
The man approaching us was just as tall and striking as the first, but where Vincent radiated cold arrogance, this one exuded a quiet charisma. His blue eyes were softer, less piercing, and his expression held an air of apology that contrasted sharply with the cold arrogant aura of his brother.
“Don’t mind him,” he said, his voice smoother, more diplomatic. “He’s not exactly known for his manners.”
I opened my mouth to respond, but no words came. It was like my brain had short-circuited, overwhelmed by the sheer presence of these two handsome Greek gods.
I…” I faltered, There was something about the Two of them. Like something magnetic and terrifying all at once. It pulled me towards the two of them.
“you’re scaring her, we have somewhere to be”
Before I could gather my thoughts, the other quiet twin said, looking me deep in the eyes with an apologetic expression before he turned. They left but not after seeing the twinkling in the eyes of the one called Vincent.
“It's not yet over”
I could swear I heard him mumble.
AuroraMy mind exploded with stars. The warmest feeling has ever felt enveloped me, together with his dark alluring lips. The kiss was sensual and soft. The hunger was there, but it was soft. And I liked it. I yearned for it. despite the warning bells ringing in my head to stop and call for help.Instead, I opened my mouth after he nicked at my lips, allowing him full entry. “Hmmm” a growl tore through his throat, sending a delicious shiver down my spine, as I kissed him back with fervor.Every nerve in my body lit up. every inch of skin burned, following his trail. It was like he was marking every inch of my body, claiming it.And I liked it. Much more than I could admit. My mind kept on screaming that this was wrong, that I should pull away, but my body… betrayed me. Reacting to his feverish and demanding touches, in a way I have ever felt before. An unconscious gasp escaped my lips, The handsome devil stopped immediately, making me look up at his red eyes that had turned into a d
Aurora “Aurora!”I turned at the sound of Anna’s voice, relief washing over me like a tidal wave.Eden’s pressure vanished the moment Anna approached, like it had never been there at all. His eyes flicked toward her, then back to me, still sharp, still watching, but no longer pressing. He stepped away, his usual cool composure slipping back into place. “I’ll leave you two. See you around.”And just like that, he vanished down the path, not waiting for a reply.Anna turned to me, eyeing me carefully. “You look… off. What happened?”I hesitated. “Nothing. Just tired, that’s all.”But even as I said it, I knew I was lying…to her and to myself.Something was happening.“You mean you having a staring contest with the hottest guy in school in the middle of an empty parking lot was nothing” she raised an eyebrow while peering at me.I was speechless. No way was I telling her that the truth, it might sound weird, but I was still trying to know what was happening to me. Not. The strange voice
Aurora’s POV The rest of the training session flew past without me knowing. Well, apart from me looking like a fool while staring at Eden's glorious backside.I sighed, using the towel to dry my wet hair.Steam clung to my skin as I stepped out of the bath, wrapping the towel tightly around my body. My muscles ached from the intense training session with Eden, but my mind was far too restless to care. Eden. The mystery surrounding him. His movements, his power, there was something unsettling yet captivating about him. Like he was not coming completely clean with me. But who am I to judge? I was also keeping a secret from all the people of Green Falls. and I plan for it to remain that way. So, really, everyone has one or two secrets to keep.Still lost in thought, I reached for the door handle to the school bathroom. The moment I stepped out, a sudden force yanked me backward. My towel nearly slipped as I stumbled, my bare feet scratching at the floor with a sickening sound.I gasped
Aurora povHow could I have been so careless? In all the things he has been saying, red rank is not the ultimate. During one of our classes, Lord Fletcher, my teacher, had told us that there was a rank after red. The legendary rank that only comes out once in a thousand talented werewolves. The blue color.According to him, it is only seen as a myth and fairy tales, with no official record of a blue rank. but surely the rankings didn't just end in red. That was why I had unconsciously reacted following his blunderEden’s brow furrowed. "What?"I swallowed, my heart pounding against my ribs. My tongue had moved faster than my mind, and now I was caught."There’s no rank above Red," Eden said slowly, studying me with newfound curiosity.I forced a shrug, gripping the wooden staff tighter in my hands. "I must have misspoken," I lied. "Forget it."Eden didn’t look convinced. His easy going smirk had faded, replaced by something far more intense. "Misspoken?" he echoed, tilting his head.
Aurora’s povThe instructor raised a brow as if he were shocked. “You’ll train her?”Eden nodded. “Yeah. It’ll save time, and I can make sure she learns the basics properly. At least that's the least i could do for coming late.”The instructor studied him for a long moment, then looked back at me like I was stealing his property. I held my breath. Finally, he exhaled, crossing his arms. “Fine. But I expect progress. If she holds you back from training yourself, then I am definitely…”Eden grinned, not allowing the instructor to finish what he was saying. “Deal.”Just like that, I was thrown into the deep end. My faith was being decided in front of me. And I can do nothing about it.I had no idea what I was getting myself into. But one thing was certain. this wasn’t just some school. We got ready. Well, Eden did most of the work while I continued to mop at the training students who were so focused and determined not to even joke around. But when I decided that I had had my fill, a shar
Aurora PovThe class drumed on and on. I could hardly concentrate on what, whoever her name is, was babbling. I was so occupied that I didn't notice when my surroundings suddenly became quiet.I had to look up to see pairs of eyes staring back at me. I wasn’t expecting the teacher to single me out, but of course, she did.“I asked you a question, Miss Aurora” The teacher who looked like she could swallow a frog perred at me through her glasses, her disgust so visible. few snickers rippled through the classroom. I kept my face blank, gripping my pen tightly, but I could feel the heat of their gazes.
