"I will."

Again everyone was shocked. They couldn't believe what they just heard.

First of all, Ace didn't look like what the rumored Alpha is said to look like. He was too beautiful to be true, even more, beautiful than Azariah.

She was the most shocked one among all of them. She couldn't believe what was going on.

She was waiting for someone to pinch her and wake her up from this dream.

Just then the other Alphas gathered around them.

They started greeting Ace and he was simply acknowledging their presence with a head nod.

He was indeed the alpha of Alphas. He wore ordinary clothes like the others but there was something about his aura.

An aura that was forcing everyone, even people older than his parents, to bend down before him. They were forced to respect her.

He was greeting others but his hands were still around Azariah's arms. She was looking at his face without blinking her eyes.

A troubled look was covering her face. She felt like slapping herself for her dumb decision but what has been done was already done. She couldn't change anything at this point.

Soon, her parents joined. Her mother's face was wet. Anyone could understand that she has splashed water on her face.

Her father was looking at her with a blank face. Her mother was no good.

They couldn't find an emotion to show due to what happened. They don't know whether they want to slap their daughter for her recent activity or kiss her on the forehead because her stupidity helped her gain attention of Ace.

"And who you both might be?" Ace asked, even though he could already guess by Azariah's gaze that she knows them but he didn't want to use his luck.

Her parents looked nothing like her. Her mother has blonde hair while her father has black. She ended up with brown hair and brown eyes. Even the eye color didn't match.

Anyone can easily misunderstand them as her uncle and aunt rather than her parents.

"I am her mother," Her mom said, her face wasn't carrying a smile like Azariah expected.

She thought that her mother would be happy that she finally managed to grab the attention of the high and mighty Alpha.

"I am her father."

"Nice meeting you both," Ace gave them a polite smile.

He was looking like a teenager who just met his girlfriend's parents for the first time and have to act like the world's most polite guy.

But the reality was far away from that. None of this was normal and it was never going to be normal.

"So you are taking her?" Her mother said, her voice a little shaky.

Azariah wanted to hug her parents. Despite everything, she loves them and by her mother's gaze, she could understand that she wants her to stay with them.

She wasn't ready to let go, yet. Azariah hated to see her parents sad but a demonic urge rose in her heart.

She wanted to go with Ace and teach her parents a lesson.

"Yes, I am taking her with me to our pack. She is going to stay there from now," his voice didn't have any hesitation like he wasn't telling a girl's parents that he was practically kidnapping their daughter.

"But an announcement was made that all of them are going to be sold. What about that?" Her father asked.

That was his fudging question. He didn't care about his daughter. The least he could have done was tell Ace to take care of his daughter.

As a father, that was his responsibility.

It seemed as if he was more than ready to let Azariah go. As if he was waiting for this moment.

"That was a decision made by the other Alphas. They wanted to gift me the girls. Our pack isn't buying them. They were going to buy them and gift them to our pack. I don't want either of them. Your daughter is more than enough," his voice was as deep as it could get without showing any emotion on his face.

If these things were said by someone in another situation, this whole thing would have been really cute.

But it was rather intimating.

Even after all of these, Azariah was hoping that her parents would say, "Don't take her. She's our only daughter."

But they just nodded their heads. It was their silent goodbye.

The other girls were going crazy by now. Everyone was confused about why they played a such game in the first place if it was going to turn out like this.

According to the announcements, everyone thought that he was the right hand of the Alpha. Who knew that he was going to be the Alpha himself?

Azariah's parents left and she kept looking at their moving backs. Her inner child was crying.

She wanted her mother to hug her only once and say that they would go through this together.

She wanted her father to pat her on her head and say that this too shall pass but neither of them could become more than a daydream.

As soon as her parents were out of her sight, something clicked in the back of her head.

It was like a reality check for her.

"Leave me," she said without looking at Ace.

"That's not possible because you are going with me now, love," his eyes were on her face.

A frown made way on her face.

"I don't want to go with you or anyone. I want to be alone," she said.

Her body was shaking with anger at this point and Ace could feel it.

"They aren't willing to protect you. They easily let you go. You should know that you won't be happy here," he said in a robotic tone.

Azariah's anger has changed into tears by now. Her eyes were glossy from these.

"If they won't protect me then who will?" She asked, looking directly into his eyes.

"I will," he replied without any hesitation.
