Chapter 62
Megan's POV
I sat down on a nearby couch as I waited for Daisy. She's been out of the house for few minutes now and she's still not back. She didn't even tell me where she was headed. I stood to my feet after a few more minutes. I went up the stairs to see what the kid were up to.I checked on Jessie and Vivian. They seemed to have fallen asleep from exhaustion. I quietly closed the door behind me as I exited the girls' rooms. I head towards Steve's room. After a slight knock, I went in but Steve wasn't in.
I left the room and tried to call him as I moved around the hallway. Luckily, I found him standing near the extreme end of the hallway, that provided a space for a proper sightseeing of the town at night.
The view from up here was always awesome. That part of the house was shielded with glass. It looked transparent but you could only see things from inside.

Megan's POV"What took you so long?" Morgana asked as soon as she saw us."I'm sorry."I watched as her eyes focused on Steve. I cleared my throat to gain her attention."He's with me." I announced. Megan's POVI coughed slightly from the smoke that filled the atmosphere. Everywhere was clouded with smoke and I wondered how much damage Sage has caused to the whole city.I trod along the road carefully, squinting my eyes to see if there was any other person around. Megan's POVI stood at the centre of the city with Steve, Sage and his captives. Sage's eyes never left mine while he waited patiently for me to make my decision.Something kept telling me not to surrender.
