Chapter Twenty-two: My sons or you're all dead.

LUCIEN POV

I stared towards her but, giving my back a side glance, I saw Tristan, he was the one she was staring at, he was shutting the door, and certainly, he glanced at her before that door closed fully.

I pulled her chin to face me and kissed her. She was surprised.

“Did you wait too long?” I asked.

“I don't care how long I have to wait as long as you will come. What is happening? Did you find her?” Her voice was full of concern.

“Yes. We leave in a few hours. The soldiers are just preparing for the departure. I want to be here a little before I leave.” She spread out her arms and I sank into them, climbing into the bed as I did.

She let me kiss her again.

“I missed you and am not angry at you surprisingly,” I said amidst a chuckle.

“Thank you for loving a lowly girl like me.” She said softly.

She was warm and sincere - I missed hearing such good words. I stayed with her for the rest of the day and then Tristan came to inform me about the soldiers waiting to move out.
