Chapter Twenty-Three: Meeting My Children

LUCIEN'S POV

Tristan saw me immediately as he stepped out of the hole we made in the house. He rushed to me and tried to help me to my feet but I stopped him, pointing at the boy lying next to me, face down.

“Take him first. I can keep going myself as long as I stay in my wolf form.” He bowed and went to the boy. Picking him up from the ground. His head was bleeding but he was healing fast.

The general met us almost immediately. He was carrying the second boy in his arms. I looked at the two children… they both had my face but their mother's eye.

It warmed my heart too much to see that. I wanted to hold them but I could not even stand.

Thorson and Tristan stepped back as I returned to my wolf form. I gestured to Tristan to get on my back with the children. He did. The rest shifted like me and we began to leave the desolation of dead wolves.
