I didn’t tell Luca where I was going. Hopefully, he wouldn’t come sniffing around or try to track me, I needed to see Lucian.

After leaving Shadowfang pack, something hadn’t sat right with me. The way Killian reacted when I talked about that silver-haired maid wasn’t like him.

Killian was a ruthless Alpha, unbothered by emotions or anything that looked like weakness.

But that reaction?

It gave him away. That maid wasn’t just some servant scurrying around the manor. She was his mate… I could bet my life on it.

And if she was his mate… then she was the child of prophecy. There was no way that kind of fate would tie itself to someone insignificant.

So I was here now, walking into Lucian’s twisted excuse of a mansion, an eerie place that seemed like it was built just to unsettle anyone who stepped foot in it.
