Selene's POV

"Stop!" A thunderous voice snapped me out of my daze, sending cold shivers down my spine.

"He's here" I heard Carmen say, and my body shook.

I swallowed hard, following her gaze. "Who's here?"

Fear struck me as my eyes settled on the man I hated with so much passion. Our eyes locked, but I couldn't dare to tear off my gaze from his.

Wait... Why was he heading towards us?

"Stay calm, Selene. Don't do anything stupid and blow up my cover" Carmen warned sternly, her voice low.

Crazy assumptions of what he could possibly utter filled my head and I couldn't help but drift away from the real world.

"Selene" called a voice laced with disdain, snapping me out of my thoughts. "You look scared. Did my people scare you?"

Seeing his angelic face with a devilish smile plastered on his lips, the hatred I had for him came rushing back like a flood.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped, and he smirked, obviously satisfied with frustrating me.
