Chapter Twenty-one

Adriel stared at his mother wide eyed and stunned.

"What was that?", Adriel finally asked her

when he had regained himself.

"I said you are going on a date with Mrs. Dolan's daughter", his mom repeated, her face set in a hard line.

Adriel blinked at his mother in disbelief. For years, his mother had nagged him, scolded even because of his frivolous lifestyle but she had never done this and Adriel didn't want to believe that she was actually doing it.

"Mom, are you suggesting that I go on a blind date with Mrs. Dolan's daughter?", Adriel asked carefully.

"Yes, that's exactly what I'm suggesting", his mother affirmed.

"Mom!", Adriel yelled.

"What?!", his mother yelled back

"How could you? I thought you were a cool mom. I felt happy that you would never push me into a blind date like Omar's mom tried to do with him but what is this mom?", Adriel asked her.

"Yes, I've tried to be the cool mom with you, thinking you will change on your own with time, but I don't think you will", Mrs. Alvar
