CHAPTER 4

"Ask my father? How do you mean, ask my father?" she asked with a low voice.

"I have no say in that right now, and I need you to get back to the house right this minute."

"I am your wife, and you have no right to treat me like a trash bag," she flared up.

"No one is ever treating you like a trash bag. If you need answers to the questions going on in your head, talk to your father.

But right now, I need you to get back to the house now."

She was dumbfounded, not sure what to say or think.

"Hmmmm..." she sighed deeply, her head bowed in a sad mood.

"Tell your bodyguard to get me home. I feel shattered right now. I can't control my steps."

"What's that meant to mean?" he asked with an angry tone. "Get yourself out of here right this minute!" he yelled at her.

She took a step forward and slumped, hitting her head by the side of a steel chair in his office.

Blood gushed out...

He shouted out of fear, "Steve!! James!! Harley!!! Help... who's there?"

"What happened here?" James asked, trembling.

"Isn't that a silly question?" he slammed back at James. "We need to get her to the hospital."

"She's bleeding," James said with a faint voice.

Fear showed all over his face. "Call 911!" he yelled.

In a few minutes, medical attention was available, and she was rushed to the hospital.

In the hospital, the doctors hurried to help her. He was really worried.

While driving to the hospital, he couldn't stop thinking about how much he cared about her.

When they got there, the doctors took her to the emergency room.

He was really nervous and kept walking back and forth.

After some time, the doctor came out and said she was getting better. He felt a mix of relief and regret.

He went into her room and saw her lying there.

She looked weak but opened her eyes when he came closer.

He realized he had to make things right between them, so he sat down and held her hand.

"Still very weak," she asked with a faint voice, "you've never loved me?"

"I'm more of a packaged service to you so you could sign your deal. Is that all I am to you?"

He felt sad, not knowing what words to use. He replied boldly, "This isn't the right time to talk. Get yourself in a better shape, then we can sort this out."

"I need to get back to the office now. I have pending business emails to reply. I won't be coming back to check on you," he snarled.

"All that matters now is you're safe and sound. Your mom is on her way here," he said as he walked out of the room she was in.

While heading out, he met the bodyguard. "He sounded so furious. What were the instructions?" he asked angrily.

"I ordered you to make sure she never comes anywhere close to the office, and you defied my orders. Now see how messed up this is."

"Keep an eye on her. No one should enter her room except her mom, whom I called and is almost here."

"I'm so sorry, boss. She was really adamant, and I'm sorry she slipped past my watch," the bodyguard replied.

"Steve your head won't be there to call for help next time something goes wrong," he warned sternly.

He left the hospital with lots of questions going through his mind. "Have I done the right thing today? Have I been fair to her since we married?" he sighed deeply.

"Get the car ready. We're heading back to the office," he ordered the driver. The drive back to the office felt more like paying respects at a funeral ground.
