CHAD’S POV When I woke up, I woke up to Amber complaining right next to me, it sounded like she was complaining about the fact that I was lying unconscious and how she should have just followed me. AMBER’S POV I couldn’t bear the thought of placing everyone else in danger all because of me and the decisions that I had made. I had chosen to join the vampire coven and I had chosen to come here as a spy for them, I couldn’t risk the lives of the very people that I had intended to kill. I couldn’t even celebrate my father’s death because I was now so worried about the new threat that had been made against my life. I wanted to confront Natasha and ask her why she had chosen to betray the king that she had claimed to love so much but I decided to let her be because the perfect person to confront her about that was Chad. AMBER’S POV After I got out of the royal City I went back to the location where I had found my bike wondering if it was still there and to my surprise it was. They really meant it when they said there was little to no crime in the royal city. Although I hadn’t left my bike in the royal city territory. I picked up my bike and another miracle happened, the bike was actually still working. I don’t know why I expected it to not be working but I had just left it out here for so long that I didn’t expect it to have any life in it. Seeing it come to life was a miracle and it reminded me of my love for fast vehicles. I couldn't explore that passion while I was at the palace because I was always indoors. My thoughts of the life that I had left back at the palace made me realize that I was already missing Chad and that place. I had never been to the vampire territory and I had never dealt with a vampire before so I really didn’t know what the day held for me. I didn’t know what to expect from them but thank goodness I had Jeff who had some experience with the vampire coven. He knew what their weaknesses were and he knew how to kill them. CHAD’S POVWhen we first arrived at the vampire coven I was not only excited by the action that was going on everywhere around me but also because I was about to see my mate. However, I was a little worried that we may have been a little late in getting to her. While I entered the coven searching for Amber, Jeff and the others remained outside where the real fight was happening. I had gone to them because I thought that they would accept me if they knew that I rejected my wolf side and embraced the vampire in me but I was mistaken and wrong. AMBERS POV I tried to shake off the taste of Marcus’s blood from my taste buds and forget it but that seemed close to impossible, I felt like I wanted more of that addictive taste but I also didn’t want to go and hunt for it. Even if I was willing to hunt for it, what kind of a creature would I hunt for without raising suspicions or concerns with Chad. I couldn’t deny that his blood tasted good to me but the last thing I wanted was to find myself killing humans, vampires, and wolves for survival. One of the things that my mother told me when she was still alive was that I was to stay away from human blood or any kind of blood. She always told me that that would awaken a hunger and thirst in me that would be very uncontrollable. That was the reason that she made sure that I stuck to a certain diet and I never ate any meat that was not well cooked.
