Chapter 30

VERONICA

This wasn't what I expected. I am scared to death at the moment. How could a door possibly push me away with such force?

I try to stand on my feet; my ankle has a fracture, and the pain stinks.

"Anyone here to help me?" I am sorry, Eva. You guys could stop the pranking or whatever it is you are doing. I beg of you!" I scream at the top of my cracked voice. Anyone who hears me will completely figure out that I am about to cry.

My voice echoes back to me, as I expected. The wind suddenly became louder and blew the flowers to the floor. In my wildest imagination, I could not believe that something like this would ever happen. An old woman of close to eighty years with long wavy gray hair appeared, or, should I say, formed, with the flowers.

This reminded me of Prince Grimgor's exact words when he said that no one should make any noise in the forest of Ravenswood.

"Who dares disturb the comfort of my subjects?" The woman's fierce voice echoes down to my ear.
