EPISODE FIVE

Emily walked out of the gate of the magnificent villa, looking to her right and then to her left. She was completely lost and could not decide on which path to follow. She does not even know where she is yet, and she earnestly hopes that she is not very far away from home.

It was late summer, and the sun was already so hot that it was scorching her soft and delicate skin. Even now, she still felt some pain in her middle, so she took her steps carefully, going one step at a time.

Looking around her, she noticed that all the houses in the area were magnificent, but the gigantic two-storey building that she had just come out of seemed to be the most expensive among them. Truly, the house goes to show just how rich Don Nick is.

On a good day, Emily would have taken her time to admire the aesthetics of this awesome neighbourhood but today is not a good one, or at least not for her. All that occupied her mind at the moment was getting back home and minimizing the tension at home to the barest minimum.

She took out her phone with the intention of using the map to know her exact location and how to find her way home before proceeding. However, to her utmost dismay, she was out of data, and so could not operate the map.

It was while she was going through her phone for a possible alternative that she realized that she had missed six calls from her boyfriend, Tyler. He dialed her number late at night. Seeing the logs of calls, she wanted to dial his number, but when she could not think of an excuse to give him, she decided to postpone doing so.

Her heart sank, and she could not help thinking about when her ugly predicaments in life would be over. Now more than ever, she desires to get home and face whatever awaits her there.

"If only I could see something to help me out here," she murmured in anxiety.

She placed her hand over her forehead to shade her eyes from the merciless rays of the sun and started to look around for a sign of a poster or something that would be useful to her quest.

The street was a very quiet and lonely one, and apart from knocking at the gates of the mansions to get the address from one of the securities, there was no other way to go about it as there was no one in sight.

Soon she found a billboard situated a little distance away on her left-hand side. "Surely that billboard will be able to say where I am at the moment," she murmured tiredly.

With this, she walked to the billboard, which was a few meters away, to take a look at it and probably see if it had an address on it. Arriving at the billboard, she saw that it was a poster of a church, and looking by her side, she saw the gigantic church building. ‘Church For All...’ it reads.

Anxiously, she scrolled down the billboard to where the address was written, and soon she found the address. It stated.  ‘William Fox Court’s far North Side, Twin Sparks Island.

"At least I am on Twin Sparks Island," she sighed.

But then, she knew very little about William Fox Court. Yes, she was aware that it is a part of the island for the bourgeoisie, but she had never had any cause to be here before now and so was not very sure how far it was from Pacific Slide.

Having realized her exact location, she was hoping to see a taxi to take her out of the estate, but first, she checked her purse to check how much she had left. When she saw an empty purse staring back at her, she could not hide her disappointment. "Oomph’s..." she sighed in frustration. Too many bad things were happening to her at once.

Now she remembered that she did not bring any money along. Samantha had driven them to the party, and since she was sure of returning with her, she had not bothered to take some extra cash in case of any eventuality. But then, Emily would not have imagined that there would be some eventualities when she was going out with her sister.

At this point, she decided that she had no choice but to trek back home. From the little she knew about William’s Fox Court, getting home would be in the next hour, and if she were fast enough, though she was very certain that she would never be, she would arrive before then.

But then she was already exhausted and had not eaten anything all morning. She had even turned down the offer of the maid in Don Nick's villa to bring her breakfast, and now she regrets such an action. Who knows, maybe the servants would have agreed to bring her home or lend her some cash.
