EPISODE SEVEN

Standing in front of the door, Emily mumbled a silent prayer before reaching for the knob and grabbing it with all the courage she could muster. This was the first time that she would be spending a night outside her home, and she could not even think of the doom that awaited her inside.

Within the few seconds that it took her to turn on the knob and open the door, her mind wandered around all that had happened from last night to this present time.

She had happily gone to the party with Samantha, and there she had met the most sought-after CEO. She had so much to drink, and since it was her first time, she got herself drunk.

Her day had ended with her spending a night out. When she was done reminiscing, she agreed that truly, so many things happened to her for the first time between yesterday and today. That is, in a span of twelve hours.

For the first time, she went out with Samantha, attended her first real party, took alcohol, got drunk, spent a night outside her home, and had her first man.

On the issue of losing her pride, Emily would not stop being sad. She had many plans about when she would give her first to Tyler. She and Tyler had been together for over a year now, and she had planned to give herself fully to him by next month, that is, when they would be celebrating their second anniversary, and now this.

She sighed. How was she going to explain to him what had happened and how she had shamefully lost her treasure?

"Hey, Emily, you wanna get me in trouble," Samantha whispered and pulled her aside.

"Oh... Samatha..." Emily muttered.

She had entered the sitting room without even realizing it. Actually, she was hoping she could just land directly in her room without anyone seeing her.

"Not this time, Emily; why didn’t you return home, and why are you just coming in now?" Samantha yelled in a low tone.

"See..." she tried to speak, but Samantha would not let her.

"You even refused to pick up your phone. We got worried that something might have happened to you. Why must it be on the night that I took you out, loser?" Samantha fumed.

At this point, Samantha could barely keep her voice low, and Emily was worried that someone might overhear their conversation and know that she was back. Emily does not want to face either of her parents just yet. She still needs time to recover from the hangover and also from the pain she is feeling as a result of the unconscious act she had with Don Nick.

The mere thought of this made her skin crawl. Yes, of course, Don Nick is a man that any lady would throw herself at, and even Emily finds him attractive. But then she has a boyfriend and a relationship she is trying to build.

‘What man allows a girl to lose her pride in such an appalling and gruesome manner? She thought to herself. ‘Nick...’ he is the only cruel one that could do such. She does not blame him one bit; he obviously thinks that he’s got all the money and can do whatever he wants.

"See, Samantha, I think I had too much..." she tried to speak again, but Samantha was quick to interject.

"Just admit it, Emily, and stop trying to make up any excuses. This has always been what you wanted, but you weren’t bold enough to carry it out. Now that you can heap the blame for your unguided actions on me, you decided that it was time to act. Tell me, why have you never spent a night outside this house before now, and why must it be when I finally brought you along with me?" she cried.

"Stop it, Samantha, please keep your voice low. I am sorry... I am truly sorry," Emily begged with her heart on her chest.

Emily could not understand just why Samantha was deciding to act up. They both went to the party together, and Samantha should have known better than to return without her. She was drunk, and Samantha was very aware of that; thus, she ought not to have left her to herself back there.

"You don’t ask me to stop it," Samantha flared. "You got drunk, and you could not stop yourself. I was embarrassed to see that side of you. Do I even know you, Emily? Tell me, do I even know you?" she queried.

Emily was not finding this conversation easy, and she decided that it was time to speak up, which she did. "But then, you should not have allowed me to drink so..."

Even though Emily was trying to hold her ground, Samantha was quick to interrupt her yet again. "Now I see all you want is to heap the blame for your despicable act on me and make Daddy see you as the good girl. I should never have invited you to that party; I made such a grave mistake by taking you with me," Samantha cried.

"No... of course, you did not... I can't even remember anything," Emily pleaded, regretting that she had to bend to the whips of Samantha even now and could put up a defense.

"So, where went you?" Samantha asked with a well-concealed smirk.

At this point, Emily was confused, and all she could do was mutter. "But you..."

Before the perplexed Emily could complete her statement, a voice was heard from the staircase. "Tell us, Emily, where have you been?"
