AT THE PACKHOUSE
The atmosphere was tense even as the cool early morning breeze blew across the gigantic structure of the Twin Sparks Island Packhouse. Of course, why won't everyone be filled with eagerness as they all await the outcome of the day? Of all people, Zanlagar, the great seer, has visited the Packhouse at this early hour of the day.
There has been great tension in the Packhouse for months now. Lycan Ryder, the fearsome Dragon Lycan king, has sent a note to the Pack, and in it are words clearly spelled out.
'Drancudie Dynasty vows
to invade Twin Sparks Island
and leave it in shambles
in the nearest future.'
In the note, it is stated that nothing would avert this impending wrath. However, to escape from this, Alpha Xavier was given the task of presenting a gift capable of appealing to Lycan Ryder. But then everyone knows the Dragon Lycan king of the Drancudie Dynasty. He hated werewolves, and nothing could be more appealing to him than seeing them destroyed. Their ruins—yes, their ruins—would be the only thing to appease the Dragon Lycan King.
The pack has since lived in fear, and the fact of the note has remained an open secret among the werewolves. Everyone is fervently praying and hoping that the fearsome Lycan delays his mission of doom.
Since the reception of the note, Alpha Xavier has eagerly awaited the arrival of Zanlagar, the seer. Twin Sparks Island can be said to be the strongest pack, but what chance does it possess against the mystical powers of the Drancudie Dynasty?
The only chance it has is the seer, and now he is here. At a point like this one, only the seer can say what step can be taken or what could appease the bloodthirsty heart of the Dragon Lycan king.
For ages, packs have been left in ruins by the mere breath from the mouth of the dragon lycan king. He shows no mercy wherever he invades, not even to sucking children. His slogan is "Even a toddler werewolf is a betrayer to shifters." Thus, he kills even babies in the womb. He rips open the womb, brings out the little foetus, and tears it to shreds with his bare hands.
Betrayers, yes, that is what he sees werewolves as. They are soft and weak and should be wiped out of existence. To the Lycan, werewolves are worse off than humans.
"You will have to get her, the maiden with the green pearl. She is his doom, his greatest fear," Zanlagar spoke, his voice echoing.
"Her, with the green pearl... how do I know her?" Alpha Xavier asked.
It was joyous to hear the seer come up with a solution. Alpha Xavier loves the members of his pack. For ages, his family has remained the alpha of the pack and has always had the full support of its members. On his part, he has been a good alpha to his people, doing everything to protect them.
"You must go out in search of her. Always be kind to strangers, and when you find her, make her your luna. With her by your side, the Dragon Lycan King will trouble the pack no more. She bears his neutralizer," he explained.
"A stranger? Is she my mate?" Alpha Xavier inquired further.
"She only bears the green pearl on the right side of her neck. It glows under the full moon," Zanlagar replied.
"Oh... okay," Alpha Xavier said. He knew it was futile to persuade the seer to say more than he intended to.
"You must get her soon, alpha," Zanlagar declared.
After these last words, he took his bow and found his way out.
As soon as the seer was gone, beta Jasleen drew closer to the alpha and whispered. "Now you have to go searching for a stranger; how difficult can this get?"
"Now I am beginning to doubt the seer has a solution to our predicament," Alpha Xavier murmured, feeling defeated.
"No, don’t say so. Zanlagar has done even more for this pack. He has been with us even in much more difficult times. All we need to do is find this stranger," Beta Jasleen appealed.
"Yes, of course, we have to wait for the full moon," Alpha Xavier replied.
"She has the green petals on the right side of her neck," beta Jasleen countered.
"And it only glows on the full moon," Alpha Xavier pointed out.
"But then who says that it cannot glow at other times?" Beta Jasleen decides to remain positive.
"And now I should go about meeting strangers," alpha Xavier nodded as he said this. He could not imagine how bad this could get.
"You are a good alpha; the people love you." beta Jasleen said. "And who says you must do that in person? We all have to be on the lookout for the lady with the green pearl on the right side of her neck," beta Jasleen remarked.
"I might have to go out now, Jasleen," Alpha Xavier announced.
"To where, alpha?" beta Jasleen asked.
"Remember, I have a search to carry out," he replied.
"This early..." beta Jasleen was stunned.
"You... who...?" Samantha inquired. The answer already seemed obvious to Samantha and her mother. Nevertheless, they wanted to be sure that it was indeed Emily asking for help. All along, they had assumed Emily had run away, and they had already planned how to use that to their advantage. Her call was the last thing they needed at the moment. With how well they had strategized, they would have preferred if Emily never returned."Emi...ly..." the voice replied."Emily..." Elise and Samantha muttered in unison."She needs our help," Samantha whispered to her mother."That fool," Elise scoffed and cursed under her breath.Just moments ago, they had been celebrating their victory, and now, like the bearer of bad news that she was, Emily had called. Elise wondered what kind of trouble Emily was in and secretly hoped she wouldn’t make it out alive.Elise waved her hand, signaling Samantha to continue the call. Samantha took the phone off speaker and asked, "Emily... hello? Emily, where are
CHAPTER 66“Oh… my dearest Samantha, you are such an angel. And to think that she has never appreciated you,” Oscar Lee praised her.His heart melted as he listened to Samantha speak. Despite Emily proving herself undeserving of pity, Samantha still chose to show her kindness. This impressed him deeply. For years, he had tried to instill unity among the siblings, but only Samantha had embraced his teachings. However, at this moment, he felt a traitor like Emily deserved no mercy. Rising from the sofa, he announced, “I need a drink. I can’t believe that girl will be my undoing—I’m going crazy. Keeping her was the worst mistake of my life,” he gritted his teeth.Samantha stepped forward, trying to stop him. “Daddy, do you think that’s a good idea? You’re so angry, and I wonder if you should be out there alone.”“Come on, darling, of course, I can handle myself,” he replied, waving off her concern. “I trust you can take care of things here. For now, I just need to clear my head,” he adde
Samantha was inside the sitting room with her mother when Oscar Lee entered the house looking perturbed. “Is she back?” he inquired.“Not at all, daddy” Samantha replied.“This is serious. What the heck had happened to her?” he lamented. “Has either of you been able to contact her?” he asked.“Her phone has been switched off since yesterday” Elise responded.Oscar Lee thought about this for a few seconds before he spoke. “And is she with that man, hmm... Don Nick, is there a way you would know that?” his question was directed to Samantha.“No, she is not. Maybe this time, she had run off. I knew that was what she would do” Samantha responded. “A loser, that is what she is” she gritted her teeth.“She dares not run away, where would she go to?” Oscar Lee exclaimed, gnashing his teeth.“I overheard her talking about Yonder Pearls City. And how accommodating it is for humans and wolves alike” Samantha replied furiously. “She dares not go there, I will look for her even to the end of the
“Oh no, I am so hungry” Emily groaned in pain inside the dark room, hoping that one of the fierce men would decide to take pity on her and release her.“You keep quiet” one of the twins, Kimberly yelled.Kimberly and her sister had just opened the door when they heard Emily’s plea. The room was dark, and the light was turned. Four fierce men stood at the corners of the room without giving a thought about Emily’s constant pleas.“Oh, Miss, please let me go home, I have been here for long” Emily begged as she saw that the twins were back. “Let me return home and I promise that I would be gone before you know it. I can't go on with the CEO, please believe me” she cried.Tied to the iron chair, Emily’s whole body was already in excruciating pain and it was beginning to look as if she will soon become numb because of the inability to move any part of her body because of how firmly she was tied to the chair. She has been dealt with mercilessly by the twins, and the fierce men they had hired
“Don’t try to play dumb with us, Emily, we can no longer be fooled by you” Timberline warned. At this point, Emily decided that it was truly useless trying to play dumb with the twins. Soon she would be gone far away from here, and she will no longer pose a threat to any of their ambition to get laid with the CEO, or whatever their plans are.“I am sorry, but it was all the CEO’s idea, and there was nothing I could do about it. And just to put your minds at rest, I will be gone far from here by the end of the month, and then either of you can have him. I won't stand in the way, I promise” She assured them. Her words sounded ridiculous to them. They hated her audacity and wanted so much to smash her head against a wall right there and then to teach her a lesson never to mess with any of them in the future. What annoyed the twins most is not the fact that she dared to date the CEO having been aware of their respective interests, but that the CEO would look her way a second longer. They
It was close of work, and Emily walked out of the office complex staring blankly ahead of her. Her mind was completely preoccupied with weird thoughts. These past two days had been the most challenging for her. Trying to avoid Don Nick is not a task that Emily would have undertaken willingly. But then she had to do it, if not for herself, but for his sake. She knew what Samantha can do, and she was aware that there was no stopping her once she starts.Truly, the fear of Samantha is the beginning of staying out of trouble.Wallowing in her thoughts, she made her way to the gates. For now, she had not yet decided how she was going to leave the company. One of the options available to her was to send her resignation through Mr. Josh considering the fact that he was the one that gave her the job.Emily knew that she will get Josh to agree to keep her decision away from Don Nick until she was gone. She figured that in that way, she wouldn't need to bring up the issue with Don Nick since he
