CHAPTER 121

RUBY’S POV

After a long moment of sobbing all by myself while I walked home and earned curious stares from people I passed by, I finally got to my house and dragged myself up the porch with a broken soul.

Forgetting I could just open the door and walk in, I began to press the doorbell for someone to let me in and when a long time passed with no one answering the door yet, I fell to my knees and clutched onto my chest before bursting into another fit over the fact that Dax now knew the truth.

The way he stared at me like he didn’t know me before walking away was engraved in my head and it played over and over like a broken part of a movie.

Then how he had avoided my touch twice ruined me. I still felt like I couldn’t breathe, my heart had never felt heavier and my head hurt so bad but I couldn’t stop crying.

The tears kept coming against my wish and holding them back was like going into a war I knew I was eventually going to lose at the end… It was a pointless effort.
