RUBY'S POV

The door opened and Sally walked out onto the porch at that moment. I was still sobbing and couldn't bring myself to stop even though she was watching me and she was a curious child.

I knew she would want to know why her mum was crying but I couldn't stop the tears. I was too broken and hurt to make myself care about what she would feel or think on seeing me that way.

Clarissa quickly stood before me as she faced Sally who looked curious, making sure I was out of her view. Then she let out an awkward laughter before walking toward Sally who was still watching in silence.

“What are you doing out here, darling? Aren't you supposed to be eating your dinner?” She asked Sally but Sally was still watching me, not paying a single heed to Clarissa who was trying to distract her and it hit me just how much she acted like Dax sometimes.
