CHAPTER 57

RUBY’S POV

I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt before I joined Dax where he waited on the porch for me.

I got out of the house and locked the door before I turned to face him and he had a smile on.

“Is something funny?” I asked him as I stared back at him and he looked me over from head to toe.

“You're wearing them. The sweatpants and shirt that you wore the first day I showed up at your door” he replied and a sweep of deja vu took over me when I remembered that day.

It suddenly felt so far away now. It was like I didn't tell him to stay away from me for good because now, I had no idea how things escalated to the way they presently were if I was told to recall anything at all. It just sort of happened and currently, I had no idea what I and Dax were exactly.

“Yeah, I remember. You were standing over there and waiting for me too” I pointed at the spot where he stood and leaned against the railing over the edge of the porch and he grinned.
