CHAPTER 55

RUBY’S POV

I finished taking a long bath to relax my nerves and soothe my limbs that still felt quite sore. Then I took my time to dry my hair and held it all up before I wore a sleeveless half vest along with a pair of shorts then I left for the kitchen to have something for breakfast.

As if the heavens were listening to my thoughts, the doorbell rang out once I was done making a cup of coffee, and a little spilled as I got startled.

I cursed under my breath as I tried to clean my mess and the doorbell rang again, reminding me that someone was at the door. I groaned out loud in frustration as I wiped the last of the coffee stain off the counter then I rushed off to the door and when I opened it, it was Dax.

He was holding a bucket of ice cream and a box of pizza that was large enough to feed four people as he smiled at me, his eyes sparkling while he gestured at the breakfast he brought and I couldn't help but smile back.

“What's with the pizza and ice cream?” I laughed as
