Vinnie Hart is running out of time. So when an opportunity drops into her lap to fulfill her dreams without having to depend on her family and friends, she takes it without an ounce of hesitation. The only thing that bothers Ethan Doyle is that he doesn't want Vinnie to fall for him. It's something he has dealt with in the past and doesn't want to deal with anymore. She is sweet, innocent, and naive, not to mention mute. She's exactly the kind of woman he shouldn't be having this erotic arrangement with. He would hate to break her heart. But little does he know that the secret Vinnie is hiding behind those innocent eyes and fascinating laughs is a permanent reminder not to break any of his rules, let alone the most important one: never fall in love with the boss. View MoreVinnie had never been the one to eavesdrop on anyone’s conversation. She understood the need for privacy. She respected it.
But damn!
The conversation between the two men sitting in the booth behind her was way too intriguing and amusing to turn a deaf ear. She couldn’t help it. The more she tried to look away to distract herself or focus on the cup of coffee in front of her, the more inquisitive she became. Their words tickled her ear and pushed an amused grin to her naturally pink lips.
“I’m so fucking fed up with this!” One of them snapped in a low voice. “If I have to deal with such big-headed, melodramatic and materialistic witches one more time, I might just lose it.”
“Just like you aren’t already?” The other man quipped, probably with an eye-roll, not that Vinnie could see to make sure. But she liked the image in her head. It was funny. She tried not to snicker too loudly.
“You think it’s funny, don’t you?” The snappy one bit out, his voice deep and dark with unbridled irritation. “You’ll know how it fucking feels when your family forces you to date a woman like Cara. You’ll know then.”
“I don’t have to date a woman like, Cara,” the second one said in the same humourless tone. “I’m married to one.”
Vinnie choked on her coffee. She slapped a hand to her mouth to not spill the liquid out of her mouth.
“Did you just compare my sister with Cara?” The irritated one sounded offended. “How fucking dare you?”
“I said no such thing,” the calm one said with a grunt. “Stop putting words in my mouth. I love my wife.”
“Watcha doing?” Just when Vinnie thought the conversation between the man and his brother-in-law had just gotten interesting, her best friend, Maya, dropped her ass in the seat across from her. The tiny strands of her silky hair fell on either side of her beautiful face while her dark eyes watched her with a mix of confusion and delight.
Instantly, Vinnie shook her head and sat straighter. Took another sip of her coffee and groaned when the liquid melted on her tongue. With a broad grin, she gave Maya a cheery thumbs up.
“Oh, shut up!” Maya dismissed the compliment with a wave of a hand, though she couldn’t hide the small grin that had started to work its way up to the corner of her lips. Slumping on the seat, she crossed her arms over her chest. “You don’t have to compliment the coffee I make every time your silly ass drops by. It gets boring.” She rolled her eyes.
Vinnie snickered. Setting the cup back on the table, she signed with her hands. “But the coffee is so damn good. You have magic in your hands. I hope you’ll teach me someday. At least there would be something I could also be proud of.”
Maya shook her head, laughing softly. “You already have so many things to be proud of, Vinnie. You don’t need a tag of best coffee maker to feel good about yourself.” She teased her silly friend.
Vinnie laughed. Although deep down, she felt a twinge of something deep in her stomach. She ignored it. “So, when are you getting off?” She asked with the use of her hands.
“In an hour most probably. Are you sure you’re all right sitting alone? I’m sorry, I couldn’t spend much time with you. The rush took us off guard today.”
Vinnie waved a hand in dismissal and shook her head.
After their little talk, Maya got back to her work and Vinnie went back to enjoy her coffee. Simply out of pure curiosity, when she glanced over her shoulder to see who sat on the booth behind her—really hoping for the two men to not have left, they had been such a delight to her boredom mind—she met with heavy disappointment to find the booth empty.
Ugh. Just her luck.
"So, how many men have you dated before?”
After a long minute of café’s bustling noise, the deep baritone voice of someone touched and grazed into her ear. Vinnie shivered against the richness of the thought-provoking voice. She had never felt like this before. Never heard so much depth in the way someone spoke. Made her want to touch it. Feel it. Hear it. Again and again. It allured her in a way she did not understand. Not until her head turned and her eyes searched in the direction it came from.
If Vinnie had thought the voice of the man was the sexiest thing in the world, she couldn’t even begin to explain how he looked.
God. Pure-fucking-God. Even with his back turned to her and his face out of the way, she could tell by the tall frame of his well-built body and the swell of those truly firm muscles he was no less than God. His shoulders were a thing of beauty, broad and taut. His hair was dark and perfectly combed, gleaming against the soft light of the room. He wore a perfect coal-black suit and a white shirt underneath. An exclusive watch draped around his strong wrist. Not a speck of dust on his perfectly polished black shoes.
Perfection poured from every damn inch of his body.
Vinnie took another long sip of her coffee, only to spit it back into the cup. Her coffee felt icy cold in front of the hot man sitting a few tables away from her booth. It felt tasteless.
For a moment, Vinnie was shocked by how horny her brain had turned in merely five seconds. She wasn’t exactly the gushing type. Or the stalking type. Or any type that had anything to do with a man or a woman in romantic ways. Vinnie had never even dated anyone in her whole life. Not even after completing her graduation and moving out of her home.
“Uh,” the woman sitting across from the sexy man uttered. A nervous smile played across her lips. “A few.”
“Give me a number, Ms Miller. Any number.”
“Uh. Okay. Uh, five?”
“Are you asking me or telling me?” Vinnie heard the frown in his calm voice.
“Five. Not more than five.”
The man hummed and took a sip of his coffee. “When was the last time you had sex with someone?”
“What?” the woman blurted out. Shocked and a little flustered. “What kind of question is that?”
In response to the woman’s rattled reaction, the man only patted a napkin to his mouth and cocked his head to the side. “Please do not appear this surprised, Ms Miller. It makes me look bad. Specifically, when my assistant already made things transparent with you beforehand. Did he not?” he asked with a certain edge to his voice. “I’m very particular about what I want from you or anyone whom I choose. If merely the mention of sex makes you uncomfortable, I’m forced to believe you aren’t sincere about this arrangement.” Setting the cup back on the table, he leaned back in his seat. “You may leave. We’re done here. Alex will get back to you by Monday morning to let you know my decision.”
Seeing that the man was almost eager to dismiss her, the woman blanched and placed a hand on his hand. “No no no. That’s not what I mean,” she said a little suggestively, batting her long and artificial lashes up at him. “I just...I’m just a little shy, that’s it.”
Vinnie rolled her eyes at the woman’s dramatics. With the kind of revealing dress, she wore in a broad daylight, not to forget all that layer of makeup pasted on her face, it was safe to say the first thing this woman did since the second she woke up was to plaster all the cracks on her face.
However, the way he brushed her hand off him as if disgusted by it and now he would have to bathe at least five times to get rid of the annoying feeling, spoke volumes about his impression of her. Vinnie couldn’t blame him. The woman was no match for him. He could do much better.
After a few more minutes of hopeless exchange, the woman pushed the chair almost angrily and stormed out of the café.
Seemingly unaffected by the reaction of the woman, he grabbed his phone from the table and dialled for someone. “I don’t want this woman in a hundred miles of my radius. Do you get that?”
Vinnie couldn’t hear what the person on the line said, but she almost felt her heart leap out of her chest when the man stood up and started collecting his things. “I don’t care, Alex. Can’t you find me a normal woman for once? With all the make-up she was wearing, it wouldn’t be surprising if she turned out to be a completely different person after one long shower.”
She bit the inside of her cheek hard as he pumped his fingers in and out of her at a steady pace. Her toes curled involuntarily, the sensation of being stretched and filled was almost too much for her to handle.A groan escaped past her lips and Mr Doyle responded by slipping his fingers in deeper, hitting spots that no one had ever touched before. The pleasure was almost blinding. She didn’t know what to do or how to respond to this kind of feeling, to this kind of ecstasy that was flowing through her veins like wildfire.“Fuck, I could do this forever,” he growled under his breath, and Vinnie shivered at the way he said it, his voice dripping with so much lust that it left her trembling with want. She gripped his shoulders tightly as he continued thrusting his fingers inside of her at an almost punishing pace, driving her absolutely insane with his movements. But then, as if he suddenly decided that he wanted to punish her a little more, he lifted her other leg and wrapped it around
The hot water hit her skin almost instantly, making her gasp in surprise. It was exactly when Mr Doyle felt her presence behind him and turned. Vinnie held her breath when he glanced over his shoulder, before his body turned completely towards her. Their eyes locked together and the realization of what she had done slowly began to sink in. “Vinnie…?” He breathed out quietly and she swore her heart skipped a beat at the way he said her name. It was soft and gentle and for a brief second, she thought she saw a hint of surprise flash across his face. But then again, she did something unexpected. She had taken the kind of initiative that he probably didn’t expect from someone like her. She swallowed, feeling her throat move. Mr Doyle stayed where he was, unmoving, as if waiting for her to make a move, but she couldn’t. She couldn’t think straight, let alone move. She might have been impulsive when she decided to take such a huge step, but now that she had done it, she was suddenly un
“Did I wake you?” He asked. She shook her head, signing that he didn’t wake her up. She signed that she woke up on her own and was about to ask him whether he wanted something to eat or drink when he interrupted her midway. “Good,” he nodded his head slowly, the lines on his forehead still too tight and tense for Vinnie to relax. “That’s good.” She tilted her head to the side curiously, wondering what was bothering him so much. Was it something that happened at work? Vinnie wanted to ask but she didn’t want to come off as nosy or annoying either. So instead, she waited patiently for him to continue talking. “I see you have been busy,” he stated casually, eyeing the pile of shopping bags scattered all over the floor near the couch. Vinnie blushed slightly when she realized that he might think she went overboard with her spending but then reminded herself that Mr Doyle himself had arranged for Alex to give her a credit card to use however she liked. But still, a part of her felt g
By the time, Jade dropped Vinnie back to the apartment, Vinnie was exhausted like hell. Her feet hurt from walking all over town with Jade for the entire afternoon, and her shoulders and back ached from carrying the heavy shopping bags. Well, if truth be told, it was her fault for not letting Jade call the driver to pick them up after they left the mall. Vinnie refused because she didn’t want to bother the driver arranged by Alex so she could go wherever she wanted. The driver seemed old enough to remind her of her father and Vinnie felt embarrassed asking him to haul so many bags around town with them. And it wasn’t like she couldn’t handle carrying a few shopping bags anyway. Sure, Jade had bought an absurd amount of clothes, shoes, and accessories for her, but it wasn’t that heavy, was it? Well, ask her throbbing feet and aching arms. She rolled her eyes. Nope. Not at all. Jade was good company though and Vinnie thoroughly enjoyed being with her, despite her slightly over-enthus
“Are you sure this is the address?” The man asked, glancing out the tinted window of the hired car and up the tall building complex towering over them in the distance. “Positive,” Little Jo responded, typing away on his smartphone and only stopping once or twice to stare intently at the screen before resuming his task. “This is where she lives.” “Hmm,” rings of smoke billowed out of the man’s mouth as he took a long drag from his cigarette before stubbing it out in the ashtray attached to the dashboard of the car. “It’s been a while since I last saw her. I wonder if she’s still as beautiful as I remember her to be.” “Man, seriously?” Little Jo’s brows rose in mild disbelief. “Are you seriously calling that bitch beautiful? That woman stood against you in court and sent you to prison for five years, brother! Are you even thinking straight?” The man shrugged in response, unbothered by his brother’s reaction. “What can I say? I’ve always had a thing for those sexy librarian types. Bes
For the next few days, Vinnie heard nothing from Mr Doyle.Strange, as she had expected to see him more often, now that they had…done a little bit of those intimate things. They had kissed. They had touched. And he had made her feel so much more than she could have imagined.Honestly, that man was absolutely good with things that he could do with his mouth alone. Vinnie had no regrets. No shame. And no reluctance to admit that she wanted for it to happen again. She wanted him close, close enough to make her forget about the process called breathing. She wanted his large and warm hands on her body, his lips on her skin and his rugged, hard-as-marble body flushed with her own.Shit. Was she getting ahead of herself? Had she become obsessed with that man somehow? But how could she? He had only spent one night with her. Just one night. And even then they hadn’t gone all the way. She was still a virgin. She knew because she had seen more than enough porns to know what to expect when things
Ethan sat in the board room and stared absentmindedly out of the window while the others argued about which projects were currently a priority. “We should focus more resources on this project because it’s expected to make us a ton of money next year,” one of his vice presidents argued passionately while pointing at the screen where several charts and graphs were displayed. “If we put a lot more effort into developing this technology now, we’ll be able to sell it later for an insane amount of profits.” “I agree,” another VP chimed in. “It makes perfect business sense to invest our money and time into developing something that’s going to pay off big in the future. That’s exactly what investors want us to do anyway.” “But we have to look at the bigger picture here too,” a third VP countered. “Sure, investing in something like this may bring in huge profits later but it won’t necessarily make our shareholders happy right now because most of them prefer short-term returns over long-term
The next morning arrived and Vinnie woke up feeling a bit sore and a little disoriented. She stretched out lazily on the bed, enjoying the sensation of being surrounded by a mountain of soft pillows and luxurious sheets that smelled like lavender. The room was dimly lit, the curtains drawn shut, but even in the semi-darkness, Vinnie could tell that the interior was tasteful and elegant. She smiled happily to herself. Everything looked so beautiful, so classy...so expensive! It was her third day after she left her old, poor and boring life behind and came here—to the most expensive condo in the city—and started living with Mr Doyle as his mute mistress. Speaking of Mr Doyle. Her heart skipped a beat as she suddenly remembered what happened last night in the pool. How they shared a heated moment that had her insides trembling with desire and want, before he brought her back to her bedroom and continued to use his mouth to bring her to new heights of pleasure, something she wasn’t sure
It was the sweetest thing Mr Doyle had ever heard in his life. Her moans, that is. He loved the way she looked, all flushed and breathless. She looked so beautiful with her wet hair clinging to her face and her pink lips parted in a silent gasp. Under the moonlight, Vinnie was breathtaking. When Ethan pushed his hips against her bottom, Vinnie squirmed and let out another sweet moan that had him swallowing hard. He could feel her quivering against him as he placed a soft kiss on her bare shoulder. “Did you miss me?” he said softly as he trailed kisses up her neck, making her shiver in his arms. Ethan was not the man for small talk. He never took the initiative to make anyone comfortable, no matter how cold and distant he appeared to the world. But for Vinnie—for this woman who couldn’t even speak—he was making exceptions upon exceptions and he didn’t even know. Perhaps it was the fact that she could talk—couldn’t speak—he wanted to hear her voice so badly. He wanted to hear her mo
