LOGINARIA
I grab the file from the floor and escape through the glass window on the wall. By the time the guards barge into the documents room, I am gone like the wind. Thankfully, no one caught my sight, but I could only get one file. Still, it was enough. As the siren turns off, the silence once again envelops the area. I stand at the window, peeking at the main building through binoculars. The guards are leaving, following Mrs. Amina. Despite hearing the loud siren, no one stepped out of the dorm. Either everyone is too strict with rules or they simply trust the guards. After almost two hours of dead silence, I sneak out of my room and head to the huge wall surrounding the entire academy. Scanning the woods around me, my feet climb the wall and jump on the other side. “You okay?” Victor whispers. I nod my head and pass him the file. “Just one?” His eyes go wide. “A siren buzzed up and the guards barged into the room. Luckily, I escaped.” “Fine! I'll hand this over to Toby but try to get all the files before next week. Amina has appointed someone from the pack to redesign the documents room next Saturday.” “We don't have much time, Aria!” He rests his palm on my shoulder. A breath slips free of my lips. “Also, take this.” He slides his palm from my shoulder and passes me a burner phone. “Call or text me with this phone.” The Wolves Academy is in the middle of the woods, isolated from everything. There's no network and technologies that require screens don't work because of the huge trees blocking signals from all four directions. Amina is protecting her students from getting distracted by the outside world. “Will this phone work?” “I have fitted a small network tower near the woods, but only this phone will connect to that network.” “Wow! You're incredible!” “What other shady things have you been doing behind Lozark Aylestone?” “Well, I am just an old man with many talents. These shady things earn me a good sum to support my old age.” A smirk comes across his face, proud. “No wonder your enemies wanted to kill you years ago.” He coughs, throwing the smirk off his face. “Now, go back to your room.” He clenches the file tightly in his grip. *** The next morning… I am lost in the long hallways. Well, I know all the important rooms, but I forgot to pay attention to the classrooms. Moreover, the students are pretty rude, ignoring me as if I am a ghost walking among them. “Excuse me…” A student doesn't even let me finish and walks away. “Will you please tell me where section A is?” “Ask someone else!” A girl walks past me, bumping into my shoulder. *God! What's wrong with everyone?* Each one of them is ignoring me, and I can't see Ezek anywhere. He was the only one who talked to me nicely. *Hunting down a wolf is much easier than talking to students here!* I see a group of girls near the stairs, chatting and laughing. My feet walk over to them, drawing their attention. “Excuse me?” “Yes?” The blonde in the middle responds. “Ehm…Could you please tell me where Section A is? I'm getting late for my first class.” They pass each other a glance. “Of course, sweetie.” She comes closer to me and wraps her arm around my shoulders. *Finally! Someone sane.* “What’s your name?” She asks politely. “Hailey Randle.” “Randle…Ah! The adopted girl.” I am slightly taken aback. That's the name the academy chose for me. Wow! Just wow! “Come, let me take you to your class.” My steps quietly follow her and her friends. Ascending the stairs and then going down the long hallway, they pause at a left turn. “That's your class, sweetie.” “Thank you so much for your help.” She smiles, crossing her arms over her chest. Leaving them behind, I enter the class, and my heart drops to my stomach seeing the sight before me. It's not a classroom but a private restroom for athletes. Half of them are walking around shirtless while the others are in towels. “Well…What do we have here?” One of them shouts, and all the heads turn to me. I instantly turn to the door to escape but it’s locked. My ears can hear the giggling of those girls from outside. *Shit! What the hell!* In a blink, whispers fill the room. “What? You were craving bodies?” Someone speaks from the crowd. “The door is locked. The girls outside fooled me with the direction.” I answer, keeping my gaze on the knob, my back facing them. “This isn't the first time a girl tried this. You must have told your friends to play the trick to get our attention, didn't you?” “We're bored hearing the same story over and over again that someone tricked me.” *It seems those girls have done the same thing with others. Now, these boys think I'm the villain, playing a trick.* Suddenly, a heavy palm on my shoulder turns me around and aggressively pins me against the door. He has evil dark eyes. “Keep your excuses to yourself.” He whispers. “Get your hand off my shoulder!” I order. “Why? You don't want this?” He chuckles. If I want I can handle them all alone and even break the door with a single punch, but Victor told me to act weak and not to attract unnecessary attention. “This is all a misunderstanding, please.” My voice requests. He moves his lips closer to my neck and sniffs the skin around my neck. His warm breathing touching my skin stirs doubts in me. “W-What are you doing?” He looks into my eyes again, undressing me with his gaze. “Have you found your mate?” I stay quiet, closing my fingers into a fist. “It seems you don't have one yet. How about I take you right here in front of everyone?” “Don't you dare…” “What can you do?” He slides his hand from my shoulder and places his fingers inches above my cleavage. “This is going to be fun.”ARIALeaving his suitcase, he runs over to me, and pulls me into a tight hug, almost lifting my toes from the floor. The cops step back on their own, the crowd watching us, and I hug him back, finding my peace, my home.A few seconds later, the sounds of clapping surround us, echoing like background music. As we draw back, one of the cops raises her brows, staring at my guilty face.“You still need to pay the fine, ma’am.” Her arms fold over her chest.Jay and I pass each other a sneaky glance. After my drama at the airport, we go straight to Jay's guesthouse near the hills. He once again embraces me in a warm hug, wrapping his arms around my waist. Our eyes locked into a soft, yet fiery tension.“I love you, Jay Manchester.” My lips whisper. His eyes smile before it reaches his lips. I have never seen the color green so vibrant.“I love you, too.” His lips drift gently to my forehead, a soft touch. He holds the kiss there, the warmth of his mouth a tender pressure against my skin. T
JONATHAN For the first time, Jay, my son, breaks down, crying on the stairs facing the garden. He has always been strong, a pillar, yet he’s the opposite tonight. The silence is the first thing that hits me, a heavy, unnatural blanket. Then, the sound starts, not a shout, but a thick, choked gasp, a sound that seems to claw its way out of his chest. His broad shoulders begin to shake. He brings his hands up, clenching them into fists, white-knuckled and tight, and jams the heels of his palms into his eyes, as if trying to physically push the tears back in. The tears, however, are winning. He is completely undone, and the sight of his raw, exposed grief is like a punch to your own stomach.“Jay, my son.” I call his name, step down the two stairs, and sit next to him on the third.“Is this about Aria?” My arm wrapped around his broad, trembling shoulders. He inhales a deep breath before facing me.“I-It's hurting, Father.”He sobs in pain, the pain I can never understand, but somewhat
ARIA“I can't mark you, not yet.” He whispers near my ear, the scent of his breath kisses my cheek before the words reach me.“Why not?” I feel a sudden stir of panic. His thumb gently brushes my cheek, moving softly beneath his warmth. “You will hate me, and trust me, that would be enough to kill me.” A pause settles on his lips. “No, I won't.”“Do you have feelings for me?” He raises his brows, his eyes waiting for an answer. My heart doesn't know the answer.“You’re influenced by the drug. Your actions aren't yours at the moment. In a few days, you'll be back to normal.”“You said the drug would take one month.”A tight smile glints on his lips. “I have already given you the antidote.” He mutters softly.“What? When?” My eyes widened.“Last night when we cooked together, I mixed the antidote into your food.” He lifts me in his arms and carries me out of the shower. Stepping into the bedroom, he puts me down on the floor. He grabs the dress from the bed and swiftly slides it over
ARIAHis fingers travel up to my breasts, evoking my wolf, and every nerve of mine. My breathing is seized, under his control, and so is my body. The kiss is making me submissive to him, and my wolf doesn't seem to have a problem. She's all over him, craving his touch. The sound of giggling startles us and we quickly pull away only to see Fera at the door. The Moon Goddess knows how long she's been standing there, watching our romance.“Fera, what's up?” I jump down from the kitchen top, squeezing to Jay's left side.“You two were kissing.” She whispers.“Shhhhhhhhhhh…” Jay places a finger on his lips, gesturing to her to keep quiet. She follows the gesture and runs away.Fera is still like a sweet child. After dinner, Jay does the bedding for me. Victor and Fera are already asleep.“Shall we continue what we left?”I grab his collar and propel him onto the bed. He raises a brow, surprised.“Tonight, we're watching a movie.” “What movie?” He speaks playfully.“Your mind is thinking s
DALIAHe tightens his grip on my wrist, his eyes as sharp as a blade.“If you had truly loved me, you would've fought for us, taken a stand in front of your Father. But I heard you attended a dinner. Found another man too soon, didn't you?”“Father arranged dinner with that family. I told him the truth about…”“Enough, Dalia.” He whispers.“Tonight is our last few moments at the academy. I hope I never see you again. Congrats on finding another man.” He releases my wrist with a powerful force.“Prince, listen.”He turns around and walks away. I keep calling for his name, for him, but he doesn't even spare me a glance. The BBQ chaos around me slowly cools down to silence, pulling me into a haze of emptiness, and the ripples of laughter and words seem to be withering away. Just like that…The Wolves Academy is over for us.With the new morning, we pack our things, leave the dorm, and go back home. Instead of going back to his pack, Prince is staying in the pack house with Lozark. He vo
DALIAI confront Susie. The same spot on the terrace where we first met and she comforted me.“Why did you agree to be Prince's date?”“Ehm…” Her voice is caught in her throat.“Answer me!” I shout.Inhaling a deep breath, she steps closer. “Forgive me, Dalia.” Her palms reach for mine but I pull away. “I couldn't refuse Prince.”“What does that mean?”“Prince is popular and handsome. He's everything a girl wants. No boy has ever looked at me but he asked me to be his date.”“You knew about us!”“Maybe he doesn't want you anymore. Just accept the truth and move forward.” Her voice overpowers mine.Silence moves between us through the cold breeze. I trusted the wrong person.“Prince is my true mate. We might be arguing now but he'll come back to me. Not you, not anyone, can break us, our mate bond.”Her face hardens, rage flashing in her eyes.“I am a member of the disciplinary committee. With my one comment, you'll be out of this damn academy. Do you want that?”“A-Are you threatening
