ARIA I kneel on the muddy grass, holding his cold body in my weak arms. My soul is shaking to the core seeing my brother struggling for his last breath. “Don’t leave me, Hale!” I wrap my fingers around his palm. When Hale was on protection duty guarding the Green Line, a wolf stepped onto our territory and ripped off my brother's chest with his claws. The guards changed every night for duty according to the shifts. ARIA The guard slowly starts taking steps toward me, carrying a fierce look in his eyes. He stops, closing the distance between us. “You forgot to take back your ID.” He speaks, extending his hand to me. “Oh! Ehm…Thanks!” My fingers grab the ID from his hand. His feet go back to his post, and a breath slips free of my lips. Turning around, my steps go down the long road leading to the main building. Many students are wandering outside. Some are in groups and some are alone, reading books or listening to music. The Wolves Academy has a simple uniform. White shirt and violet skirt with white stripes, whereas for boys, it's violet long pants with the same white stripes. I have never worn such a dress before. We hunters only own black clothes. Upon stepping into the main hall, my gaze notices a group of seven girls standing in a vertical line. ARIA I grab the file from the floor and escape through the glass window on the wall. By the time the guards barge into the documents room, I am gone like the wind. Thankfully, no one caught my sight, but I could only get one file. Still, it was enough. As the siren turns off, the silence once again envelops the area. I stand at the window, peeking at the main building through binoculars. The guards are leaving, following Mrs. Amina. Despite hearing the loud siren, no one stepped out of the dorm. Either everyone is too strict with rules or they simply trust the guards. After almost two hours of dead silence, I sneak out of my room and head to the huge wall surrounding the entire academy. Scanning the woods around me, my feet climb the wall and jump on the other side. “You okay?” Victor whispers. ARIA Glaring into my eyes, he fixes his hoodie, covering his shimmering blonde hair. The dim light in the corridor sharpens his features, especially his jawline, sharp as a blade. The white shirt on his chest is loosened on the bottom edge while his muscles are coming forth against the fabric, flexing his broad shoulders. He is so tall that I am covered in his shadow. There's a tense look shrouding his face which clearly states he's not friendly. The school is crowded with rumors about him. Jay Manchester is never in class, always fooling around on the terrace with his gang of five members who are like his minions. He made the gang to make things difficult for the disciplinary committee because of his bad blood with Rizz Sylvester. I heard they used to be good friends but then something happened between them. No one in the academy knows about it. Now, they're good friends turned into sworn enemies. While Rizz runs the academy with discipline, Jay bullies the students.

ARIA His eyes threaten mine, pinching the tip of the dagger into my skin.
